background: Attractive adses of traditional health services often promises such as certainty of healing, treatment without side effect, experience personnel, exclusive recipes, and testimony of patients who recovered. Ads that this unsubstantiated allegedly played a role in the tendency of people turn to traditional medicine. The aim of the study is to describe the perception of patients about the correspondence between the advertisement and the services provided qualitatively. Methods: The study was conducted in Surabaya for 5 months in 2012. Informants were selected purposively. results: The result shows that most of the information about traditional health services obtained from either advertisement local and national television. Health complaints predominanly degenerative diseases, and most have been treated to modern medicine but because they do not heal, switch to traditional medicine. conclusion: Informants judge ad featuring attractive because advanced equipment, herbal remedies as well as testimonials of patients who have recovered. Much of the promise of the ads is not evident when patients seek treatment, so they seek other traditional treatments. Most of them are less satisfied, but there is a fraction that satisfied because being cured. Traditional health services responsiveness associated with the non-medical aspects assessed either by informants. recomendation:Competent authorities should enforce and socialize media literacy to encourage community.

background:Immunization is an effective primary prevention against infectious diseases on children. The purpose of this study was to determine the related factors to the completeness of basic immunization on children and vaccine management at primary health care and posyandu in X Subdistric, Depok City. Methods:The study used a cross-sectional design with a sample of 140 mothers of children aged at least 11 months, and qualitatif study about vaccines management. Mother and child data collection using questionnaires and child health card (Kartu Menuju Sehat) in December 2012–May 2013. Vaccine management data was collected at 2 primary health care and 2 posyandu with interview and observation. Data analysis was performed with Chi-square test. result:The largest percentage of mothers who have children under the age of at least 11 months of age <30 years, at least graduated from junior high school education, no work, have a low knowledge about immunization. Vaccine management in clinics and neighborhood health center for storage after use of vaccines in posyandu not be returned to the community health center, recording and reporting is not done on the book of the records so that the possibility of scattered or lost, and the person in charge of managing the vaccine instead of pharmacy personnel. Residual use of the vaccine in posyandu not directly returned to the health center. Recording the use of vaccines in posyandu not carried on the books, so it is probable scattered or lost. Manager vaccine at primary health care should a technical pharmacy in accordance with Government Regulation No. 51 of 2009 conclusion: Completeness of basic immunization of children under one years old (82,9%), incomplete biggest measles immunization (15,0%). Factors parental characteristics (age, education, occupation, knowledge) and the availability of the vaccine were not significantly associated with children complete basic immunization. recommendation: Improving health promotion to increase the parents knowledge on immunizations beneficial.

background: Community participation was necessary for culturinglocal strain of Bacillus thuringiensis H-14 in coconut medium and adoption this bioinsecticide to control Anopheles sundaicus. This study aimed to evaluate community participation for culturing local strain of B. thuringiensis H-14 using coconut media and spreading the results of inoculation against Anopheles sundaicus larvae. Methods: The study design was a quasi-experiment. Reseach was conducted in February-November 2007 in Kampung Laut, Cilacap. Samples were 30 person which were choosed purposively. The sample criterias were at least 15 years of age and have a pond. Community participation was evaluated for 6 times using checklist. results: Results showed that all respondents (> 80%) could have on every element of 9 elements properly. Ninety percent of respondents could prepare coconut independently and made local strains of B. thuringiensis H-14 inoculation in coconuts properly (96. 67%). The density of An. sundaicuslarvae was decreased by 80–100% after 1 day spreading with culture of local strain of B. thuringiensis H-14. conclusion: Communities could participate independently for culturinglocal strain of B. thuringiensis H-14 in coconuts to control An. sundaicus larvae. The inoculation capable todecrease An. sundaicus larvae density 80–100% after 1 day. Further research was recomended to calculate cost benefit and cost effectiveness.

background: The aims of filariasis elimination was to reduce the number of microfilariae (microfilaria rate/Mf rate) in district/city to <1% in 2020. One of the principal activities of the filariasis elimination program is the prevention of filariasis mass drug administration (MDA) in districts/cities with Mf rate of >1%. Coverage of the population who need to take medication on filariasis MDA activity is >85% of the target population. The objective of this study was to improve the coverage mass treatment through the public health promotion activities. Methods:The study design was quasi-experimental, ie to assess the knowledge, attitude and behavior of the population before and after filarisis health promotion activity. Number of people had interviewed were 117 respondents. results:The level of knowledge of respondents with a high category of filariasis increased after health promotion activity from 30.8% to 59.8%. The proportion of respondents with both categories attitude towards filariasis prevention activities increased after health promotion activity from 62.4% to 79.5%. The behavior of the respondents taking medication increased from 70.1% after health promotion to 88.9%. conclusions: Health promotion has proven to improve the knowledge, attitudes and compliance in the treatment of filariasis community (p < 0.05). recommendation: Conduct training to improve the knowledge of cadres & public about of filariasis through social activities.

background: Helminthiasis is a neglected disease that lack of attention both prevention and handling. Eventhough helminthiasis is tent not to be deadly disease but it can reduce the nutrition that influence the growth and mental of the children. For the adult it brings out the reducing of productivity. That’s why it is very important to determine helminthiasis prevention strategies in South Kalimantan by doing a comprehensive effort to be the basic data for determining policies to helminthiasis control programs appropriatly. This study is aimed to know the specific aspects that retart the program of helminthiasis control in Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan. Methods: It is descriptive study with cross sectional design. The data are collected by indepth interview to the policy holder that has connection with the helminthiasis control and the guardian of elementary schoo, they are 291 respondents. results: There has not any coordination yet between cross programs and sector to control helminthiasis and there has not any budget yet for helminthiasis program. Those are one of the obstruction that make helminthiasis program can not wotk effectively. The public knowledge of Banjar Regency about helminthiasis is in good level. There is no relationship between parental knowledge with helminthiasis, otherwise there is relationship between knowledge of children with helminthiasis. conclusion:Policy only focus on curative services due to helminthiasis is not a deadly disease. recommendation: Increasing the budget of program and improving the awareness of across sector and program will support helminthiasis control program.

background:Policy issues states that referral delivery system of Jamkesmas and Jampersal have not been implemented properly. The study aims to determine of referal delivery systems for members of Jamkesmas and Jampersal social schemes coordinated by Surabaya municipality health office. Method: It was an observational study with a cross-sectional design. The study was carried outfrom March to December 2013 in Surabaya Municipality. Data were collected by indepth interviews to head of Surabaya municipality health office, chiefs of Jamkesmas/Jampersal and basic health services section in that office. Secondary data were collected to determine number of health facilities, personnels and finance related to service delivery for Jamkesmas and Jampersal members. It also conducted study of documents. Qualitative and quantitative data were analyzed descriptively. results: The implementation level of referral system for members of Jamkesmas and Jampersal social scheme in Surabaya have not been optimal due to the number of referal hospital was very limited and limited capacity of bed hospitals and community factors. The availability of health facilities and health workers for delivery services is sufficient, but those having MOU with Jamkesmas and Jampersal were very few, especially on midwife private services. The financing of Jamkesmas and Jampersal social scheme were sufficient and increase every year. The referral screening of pregnancy using a score of Puji Rohyati cards and the referral screening of delivery using child birth screening form of normal delivery care. Monitoring and evaluation of the referral delivery system were conducted in the form programs meeting, supervision, reports and complaints managemen. conclusion:In Surabaya, the coordination of referral delivery systems for members of Jamkesmas and Jampersal have been conducted, by structures & levels but not optimal. The availability of health facilities, health workers and financing were sufficient, in addition the referral screening mechanisms and also the monitoring and evaluation have been conducted as well.
