COMPARAR A PREVALÊNCIA DE SOBREPESO E OBESIDADE EM ADULTOS PRATICANTES DE MUSCULAÇÃO

Objective: demonstrating the prevalence of overweight and obesity in adults in both genders with age among 18 and 60 years old, that practice body building. Methodology: the sample included 281 people of both genders, with age among 18 and 60 years old. Were obtained results from an adapted questionnaire and of the gauging of height and weight, defining BMI of overweight >25 e <29,99Kg/m² and obesity of >30Kg/m². Results: The prevalence of overweight was 21,6% e 4% of obesity for women, respectively 52,63% e 13,4% for men. Nevertheless, about the variables of the BMI, the results are normal for women and overweight for men. The most related being dissatisfied with the weight and that they would like to lose some; indicating good health. Then, in relation to health, some related the high blood pressure, prevailing to the male gender. The weekly average frequency of train is of three days, during two hours, with strict intensity. The purpose to the exercises regards to the physical condition, health and aesthetic. Conclusion: the prevalence of overweight and obesity was more frequent among the men.
