Ways and features of Carpathian Rus christianization at the end IX - early age XI

The article considers the byway to date problem with the features of the Christianization of the Carpathian Rus in the context of missionary practice of the Eastern Roman Empire (Byzantium), the Roman Curia and the First Bulgarian Empire. Chronological framework
focused on the end of the ninth - the beginning of the eleventh century, An era when the Central and Eastern Europe, including - land of Kievan Rus became the object of missionary activity on the part of the Byzantine and «ecumenical orthodoxy» and Latin «apostolic mission» organized by the papacy.
The author, using a number of medieval written sources - Byzantine imperial and
patriarchal hrisovuly, Bulgarian and Western historical chronicles, monastic annals,
encyclicals of the Roman pontiff, analyzes and describes the realization of the goal of
the Christian mission - appeals to the «true faith» East Slavic pagan population. Special
attention is paid to the relevant historical retrospection realities motivation «baptism
of Kiev» and the initial coverage, archaic stage baptism Carpathian region.
