Professional Training and Retraining of Staff for the MICE industry: Methodological Approaches and Solutions

Recently, in the niche of the tourist business, MICE tourism has begun to strengthen. Every year in the world over 100 million trips occur on business trips related to congresses, various corporate events and business meetings. Therefore, in the coming decades it is expected that business tourism will emerge as one of the most promising and profitable types of tourist activity. In addition, the exhibition and congress activities realize the competitive potential of the territories and the emerging high-tech clusters, expanding access to innovations, technologies, know-how, specialized services, joint cooperation projects. At the same time, there is an ever more acute shortage of professionally trained personnel possessing the competences necessary for the effective implementation of business tourism. In this article, in the context of the main directions of development of the MICE industry, the main directions for the development of a multilevel system of professional training, retraining and advanced training of personnel on the basis of the formed regional center for the formation of competencies in the field of MICE industry are proposed.
