The article is devoted to the review and analysis of the concept of “volunteering.” It concretized and
specified the concept of “Institute of Volunteering,” and describes the development of a pedagogical model
provided by the Institute of volunteering in terms of socio-cultural creativity of youth associations’ members.
The article examines the criteria for the formation and development of social and cultural creativity of youth as
an integrated personality traits. Also, the authors determined the conditions of formation and development of
social and cultural creativity of the individual.
“Volunteering” is used to refer to voluntary work as an activity carried out by people voluntarily, free
of charge and aimed at achieving the socially important objectives, solving the problems of society. Nonprofit
organizations are based on the idea of volunteering, including associations, youth clubs, national cultural
organizations.
Scientific research has revealed and characterized the appearance of a new object of socio-pedagogical
research, the Institute of volunteering, as well as to establish the concept of the phenomenon. The Institute
of Volunteering is a social institution, an independent public entity which has its own logic of development,
a system of values, norms, ideals, and the patterns of behavior of people in public, useful activity on the
principles of gratuitous; it is a system that combines volunteer centers of regions of the Russian Federation to
provide voluntary and gratuitous assistance to the needy social groups. Modern state requires new approaches and teaching conditions in the organization of youth and volunteer
activities for the first time in the theory, methods and organization of welfare activity, proposes pedagogical
model of the Institute of volunteering in terms of socio-cultural creativity members of youth associations.
Socio-cultural creativity is seen as an integrated quality of a person, whose core is the subjective
properties that determine the extent of its freedom, humanity, spirituality, motivation for active, self-sufficient
and transferrable to other areas of life.
The study confirms the fact that the socio-cultural creativity is expressed primarily in volunteer activities
in public and individual interest, in a creative attitude to any socially useful productive mental (intellectual)
labor to the existing or socially accepted norms of behavior.
For the first time in the theory, methods and organization of welfare activity, it proposed a pedagogical
model of development of the institution of volunteering in terms of socio-cultural creativity members of
youth associations. Based on the methodology and methods of modeling the Institute of Volunteering,
it is obvious that the model should combine the features of a function based on a specific group of customers
and geographical coverage models of volunteer services.
The presented model specifies the modalities of the activities of volunteer services of youth: socio-cultural
projects and events (informational, cultural, scientific and methodical); “art therapy” through the involvement
of young people in cultural and recreational activities, visits to various cultural and recreational facilities; music
therapy, socialization of the individual by referring to musical culture, subculture, attending concerts, rallies,
contests, themed disco regular music listening composite; bibliotherapy is an impact on the consciousness
of the individual in the process of meaning the life orientations through the selection of literature; Creative
Technology is the involvement of young people and collective creative activity to promote the development of
individual creativity, logotherapy.
In this case, the relevant methods of functioning of the Institute of Volunteering: active involvement
in creative and socially meaningful activities, project-based learning, creating a situation of success.
Structure of the Institute of volunteering in terms of socio-cultural creativity of youth organizations is seen
as a series of interrelated components (cognitive motivational, personal activity and reflexive and analytical).
The basis of analysis of the problem is being studied the theoretical and experimental research, released
the following set of pedagogical conditions:
- Immersion members of youth associations in the practice-oriented, socially meaningful activities that
promote the development of personal qualities;
- The intention of the development process of the Institute of volunteerism in the self-development mode
in a youth association;
- Development and implementation of innovative forms, methods and technologies of the Institute of
Volunteering the youth through socio-cultural creativity in terms of the youth association.
Synthesis of the results of the pilot studies, their practical implementation suggest that developed and
tested model of the “Institute of Volunteering” promotes the effective development and implementation of
creative capacity of members of youth associations in the process of socio-cultural activities. The proposed
model can be widely implemented in the practice of socio-cultural work with young people in the youth
associations of Kemerovo.
