The collection and analysis of macrozoobenthos were done once in a month during two years i.e. February 2012 to January 2014. Total of 9 species of meiozoobenthos were observed in Kunghada Bandh lake and Chamorshi Lake belonging from phylum Rotifera and Arthropoda (cladocera, copepods, ostracods). It is concluded that both the Lakes are rich in diversity of meioozoobenthos. Kunghad Bandh lake is shows slightly more quantity of meiozoobenthos as compare to Chamorshi Lake, due to fair quality of water.

The rapid kinetics for the bromination and chlorination of pyridine by molecular halogens in aqueous medium at pH 7 using hydrodynamic voltammetry has been studied. The specific reaction rates at 295 K for the bromination and chlorination of pyridine are found to be respectively, 800 M -1s-1and 56 M -1s-1 implying the greater reactivity for bromination. The energy of activation, entropy change and the pre-exponential factor for both these reactions are evaluated from the studies carried out at different temperatures. These data establish the relative reactivities of the two halogens toward the heterocycle in quantitative terms.

Present Paper deals with the study of the Protozoan parasites found in the blood streams of fresh water fishes from Maval taluka. The study covers an analysis of the prevalence of myxosporean parasites. The study, stretched over a period of about two years, analyses the prevalence of myxosporean parasites in fresh water fishes. The findings are based on the average of monthly sample testing. The paper is presented gives an analysis of the pattern of prevalence of protozoan parasites in fishes, based on an examination of about 1104 fishes. The Fifteen species of hosts are belonging to Two Orders, Five Families and fourteen genera are examined overall prevalence’s of about 0.6% is recorded. They gives an account of the myxosporian parasites found during the study. The Myxosporean Parasites have been recorded from four species of hosts are of which only myxosporians were present in families i.e. Ophiocephalidae, and Mastacembalidae Mixed infection of Myxosporean & Trypanosomes were found in two species of host from two families i. e. Cyprinidae and Bagridae out of which some species are redescribed.

This Poster reviews image analysis, aiming at automated diagnosis or screening of Protozoan parasites in digital camera image microscope of thin blood film smears. The present study has examined fishes of Lonavala region. The objective of the information extraction operation is to replace visual analysis of the image data with quantitative techniques for automating the identification of features in a scene. This involves the analysis of multispecies image data and the application of statistically based decision rules for determining the identities of each pixel in an image correct cover. The intent of species classification process is to categorize all pixels in a digital camera image into one of the several species. The classified data may be used for species identification.

Syzygium aromaticum (Synonym; Eugenia aromatica Kuntz.) belongs to family Myrtaceae is a small medium evergreen tree, 2-6 m tall. Generally, plant found medium sized, crown base low, branches semi erect and numerous. Leaves glabrous, with numerous oil glands on lower surface. Flowers small, in terminal cymose cluster, each peduncle bear three - four stalked flowers at the end while sepals minute with triangular projection. Fruits found typically olive shaped, one seeded popularly referred to as mother of clove with distinct aroma. The brown, dried, unopened flower buds called cloves, a name coming from French word “clou” meaning nail. Plant distributed in south-west and central Indian subcontinent and under cultivation in large since ancient time. Mostly, the aromatic or spices plants contain compounds that possess confirmed strong or potent anti-oxidative properties. Antioxidants are very important to human health, including lowering the risk of cancer. Antioxidant combats the effect of free radicals. More danger of free radicals, plants produces more antioxidant. Antioxidant system prevents these reactive oxygen species from being formed at optimum level. They act as scavengers to neutralize effect of free radicals. In present investigation, evaluation of few antioxidants carried out from the fresh plant material and studied. Considering the potent medicinal value of the plant its antimicrobial sensitivity test also carried out against few human pathogenic bacteria like gram positive Staphylococcus aureus MTCC -96, gram negative, Salmonella typhi MTCC- 98, Klebsiella pneumoniae MTCC -661, Proteus vulgar MTCC - 744, and Shigella flexneri MTCC- 1457 along with fungus Candida albicans-183, were used with disc diffusion method. The results of antimicrobial sensitivity compared with the standard antibiotic like Ampicillin and Nystatin (10 μg/ml).

International evidence shows that the sex ratio of birth is slightly biased towards boys, but boys suffer greater mortality, a pattern consistent with Darwinian evolution. The population parameter has been taken into account for the study of human resource development. In many parts of the world, sex ratio has given an important place in the study of human resource development. With economic development, the male bias in the child sex ratio increases. Technological developments permitting sex-selective abortions have seriously aggravated the imbalances in these states. Economic modeling of parental choice regarding a child’s gender suggests that gender imbalances may be consistent with individual maximization and marriage-market Equilibrium. Sex ratio is important parameter for the study of population, socio-cultural and economic status of any region. In the present study an attempt has been made to analyze the changed phenomena of sex ratio in Maval region. Secondary sex ratios of live births in samples of Maval population in Pune state that Overall, 19049 live births were recorded from 2010 to 2015. The average secondary sex ratio, for the 5 years pooled together was 4479 for P H C hospital Maval.

Glasses are very much stronger than organic fibre. Besides glass being a totally non combustible material it greatly improves the fibre endurance of composite. Due to many uses of CuO-MnO2-B2O3 glasses, dc-conductivity measurement with increasing concentration of MnO2 (in the range of 5-30 mol%) have been reported in the temperature range of 313-573 K in the present study. In addition, the physical properties like density, molecular weight, molar volume, hopping distance, polaron radius and number of ions per cm3 have been reported. A plot of –log s versus 1/T shows two different regions of conduction. The DC conductivity increases with increase in temperature of the sample and it is composition dependent. Activation energy calculated from both regions (LTR and HTR) is below 1 eV. Thus electrical conduction is electronic. Activation energy in LTR and HTR are independent of temperature but depends on composition . The values of effective dielectric constant, polaron binding energy, polaron hopping energy, polaron band width and pre-exponential factor are reported. The nature of hopping conduction is found to be adiabatic. The data has been analysed in the light of polaronic hopping conduction model. The values of dielectric constant at different temperature (313-573K) at a constant frequency of 1 KHz are reported. It is observed that the dielectric constant does not change with temperature upto certain temperature, but then dielectric constant increases with temperature fastly. The dielectric constant of all the samples studied is found to depend on composition. In the glasses studied dipole relaxation phenomenon is observed.

Polymer exist both in crystalline and amorphous form, polymer crystallinity is one of the most important property of all polymer. Crystallinity of the material is the Presence of amount of crystalline region in polymer with respect to amorphous region, Crystallinity influences most of the polymer properties, some of these are hardness , modulus, stiffness and tensile. X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) is a most commonly used analytical technique for phase identification of a crystalline material and can provide information for the unit cell dimensions. The analyzed material is finely homogenized, ground and average bulk composition is to be determined. X-ray diffraction is also used to measure the nature of polymer and extent of crystallinity present in the polymeric material. Calcium carbonate is used as inorganic filler reinforcement with HDPE as base material with coupling agent, proportionally with eight different proportions. The addition of 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, 30%, 35% and 40% on weight fraction basis mixed with HDPE, with the help of an extrusion machine. The resulting mixture characterized by unique microstructure which is responsible for their properties. The reinforcement is stiffer and stronger, than the basic polymer. It increases its modules and strength with change of crystallinity. The objective of the present investigation is to find out the change in microstructure of the composites, and compared with neat material.

Dyes are widely used in the textile, rubber product, colour, printing, pharmaceutical and paper industries. Azo dyes are regularly used in the textile printing industries. This is the major cause of environmental pollution, because large amount of dye wastewater is discharged from the printing units. Therefore there is need of degradation of dyes. It is observed that several combined anaerobic and aerobic biological treatments utilising bacteria are in progress to enhance the biodegradation of textile dyes. The bacteria are capable of decolourizing Congo Red dye. Various bacterial strains such as E.coli, Salmonella sp., S.aureus, Proteus sp., Pseudomonas sp. and Bacillus subtillis were isolated and identified. The decolourization of Congo Red dye by the bacterial species was observed in various concentrations (100 to 500µg/ml) of Congo Red (CR) dye. The maximum decolourization was observed up to300µg/ml. Bacterial Consortium shows maximum decolourization that is 98% at 100µg/ml concentration of Congo Red.

To meet the agriculture and domestic energy demands of the Champaran district of the state of Bihar, the small hydro project at RD-79 on TMC (Tirhut Main Canal) has been planned and designed. The project comprises of construction of a cross regulator having ten gates to regulate the flow and to raise the head across TMC.A head regulator has been envisaged upstream of the cross regulator to pass a designed discharge of 80 cumecs on tubular turbines, installed in power house to generate a power of 1852 kw (kilowatt). A tail race channel has been proposed from the power house to carry the flow back to the TMC. The cost of generation has been worked as Rs.2.14 with subsidy and Rs.2.28 per unit without subsidy. The project has been found techno economically viable and will supply the power to the nearby area suffering from power crises.

The extracellular proteases was purified by halophilic Bacillus sp. which having potential to grow at high salt conditions. The obtained protease has wide industrial applications mainly in food industry, detergent, medical and biotechnology. The extracted crude protease was purified by using ammonium sulphate, dialysis and ion exchange chromatography. The 80% ammonium sulphate gives the up to 2.4 fold purification of protease. The dialyzed sample was introduced on anionic exchanger as DEAE cellulose having a strong affinity towards the protease and gives 4.2 fold purification.

In the present investigation, production of (poly-β-hydroxy-butyrate) PHB by using Bacillus megaterium and Pseudomonas spp. was studied. The maximum PHB was produced by Bacillus megaterium than Pseudomonas spp. having 5.39% yield and 4.66% respectively. The different carbon and nitrogen sources were optimized for PHB production. Higher PHB accumulation was observed in the media containing sucrose as a carbon source and L-Lysine as a nitrogen source by Bacillus megaterium, whereas in Pseudomonas spp. higher PHB accumulation was in presence of sucrose as a carbon source and potassium nitrate as a nitrogen source. The PHB produced in the medium was extracted by using solvent extraction (chloroform) method and separated by TLC method.
