FEATURES OF LABOR EDUCATION OF PRESCHOOL CHILDREN (RETROSPECTIVE ANALYSIS)

The features of the organization of labor education of preschool children both in the world pedagogical thought, from ancient Greece to the beginning of the twentieth century, and in Ukraine have been analyzed in the article. Ukrainian pedagogical thought has been characterized from the times of Kiev Rus to the 1920s. It was established that a significant contribution to determine the features of the development of these issues was made by philosophers of ancient Greece and Rome, teachers of the Renaissance and the Enlightenment.
It has been found out that domestic researchers such as V. Monomakh, I. Hizel, H. Skovoroda, K. Ushynskyi, V. Zenkovskyi, A. Makarenko, O. Muzychenko and others dealt with the issues of determination the features of labor education of preschool children. These experts have determined the essence of labor education of preschool children, formulated its purpose (preparing children for a successful life in the community) and leading tasks, proposed basic means of children education (riddles, folk games, fairy tales, etc.), identified work as one of the main criteria of morality, formulated certain requirements for a teacher-educator who organizes labor education of children, paid special attention to the need to organize labor education of children in preschool age, determined features of the selection of forms and methods of family work, stressed the importance of work in educating a fully developed personality, linked child labor with the work of adults, considered the importance of labor for physical and moral development of the individual.
It has been proved that the determination of the features of labor education of children was facilitated by: the opening of pedagogical museums; establishment of an orphanage for children under 14; issue of pedagogical literature; publication of pedagogical journals; opening of the first kindergartens, holding various congresses.
