ABSTRACT: India has the distinction of being the treasure of varied traditional craft. Kalamkari is one of the oldest exquisite arts of painting and printing using natural dyes on textiles. In this era of green minded consumer, Kalamkari can prove as one of the fabulous styles of surface design, which involves the use of vegetable dyes. The present work has been carried out to study, explore, analyze and evaluate distinct herbal dye sources such as Buchanania cochinchinensis (Lour) Almeida, Tecomella undullata (Sm.) Seem, Syzygium cumini (L.) skeels, Nyctanthes arbor – tristis Linn., Lagerstomia reginae Roxb. in colour palette of the conventional dye sources. Painted kalamkari samples were subjected to wash, rub and sunlight fastness and were assessed in terms of colour change. Moderate to very good fastness was found.

ABSTRACT: The concept of complex order-distribution & conjugated differ integrals was developed by Adams, Hartley & Lorenzo [1]. The present paper deals with the complex orderdistribution using conjugated differintegrals of the I-Function. These conjugate-order differ integrals involving the I-Function allows the generalization of fractional system identification to enables the search for complex order-derivatives that may better describe real-time behaviors involving special functions. Further Caputo fractional derivative of I-function also obtained. Due to generous nature of I-function, this paper may have vast applications in signal processing & electrical systems.

ABSTRACT: Insect transmitted diseases in tropical countries remain a major health threat causing great morbidity every year. Mosquitoes are animals most of us would rather do without. Several mosquito species belonging to genera Anopheles, Culex and Aedes are vectors for the pathogens of various diseases like malaria, filariasis, Japanese encephalitis (JE), dengue and dengue haemorrhagic fever, yellow fever, etc. the need to protect ourselves from their bites seems even more important. Many plant-based products are widely used for their insecticidal/repellent properties for control of mosquitoes/protection from mosquito bites. Herbal products with proven potential as insecticide or repellent can play an important role in the interruption of the transmission of mosquito-borne diseases at the individual as well as at the community level. Use of repellents seems to be most reliable method of personal protection against annoyance and infections associated with haematophagous insects. We have tested the repellency of essential oil extracted from Lantana camara in laboratory condition application of oil to the upper surface of the human forearms at the rates between 0.08 to 3.33 mg / cm2 of skin. The study provides evidence for the potential of these essential oil in developing new repellents against mosquitoes.

ABSTRACT: The present randomized controlled trial was planned to evaluate the effect of a combination of yoga practices on self-rated symptoms of visual discomfort in voluntarie professional computer users in Himachal Pradesh Universities. In regular computer users, computer vision syndrome is the main ailment of eye with ‘Dry eye' being the main contributor to the symptoms. A combination of yoga practices have been shown to reduce visual strain in persons with progressive myopia. In the study, two hundred and ninety one professional computer users from different universities of Himachal Pradesh were randomly assigned to two groups, yoga (YG, n = 146) and wait list control (WL, n = 145). Both groups were assessed at baseline and after sixty days for self-rated visual discomfort using a standard questionnaire. During these 60 days the YG group practiced an hour of yoga daily for five days in a week and the WL group did their usual recreational activities also for an hour daily for the same duration. At 60 days there were 62 in the YG group and 55 in the WL group. While the scores for visual discomfort of both groups were comparable at baseline, after 60 days there was a significantly decreased score in the YG group, whereas the WL group showed significantly increased scores. The results suggest that the yoga practice appeared to reduce visual discomfort, while the group who had no yoga intervention (WL) showed an increase in discomfort at the end of sixty days.

ABSTRACT: The present work describes synthesis, characterization and spectral studies of samarium complex with gliclazide-an oral antidiabetic drug have been studied. The conductometric titration using monovariation method indicate that complexes are non-ionic and L2M type. Analytical data agrees with the molecular formula (C15H20N3O3S)2Sm. 2H2O. Structure of complex was assigned octahedral, supported by IR, 1H-NMR and Mass studies. Structure (I) is proposed for complex.

Which are define for Generalized hypergeometric function S+1FS(·) in termsof an iterated q-integrals involving Gauss’s hypergeometric function 2F1(·). By using the relations between q-contiguous hypergeometric function 2F1(·), some new & known recurrence relations for the generalized hypergeometric functions of one variable are deduced in the line of Purohit [6] as a special case.

ABSTRACT: The aim of this work was to develop and validate a Related substances method for Pramipexole in Mirapex tablets using High Performance Liquid Chromatography method. The mobile phase consist of buffer (Buffer used was prepares as dissolved 4.5 gm of potassium phosphate and 2.0 gm of 1-Octane sulphonate sodium salt in to 2000 ml of water and pH adjusted to 3.0 with diluted orthophosphoric acid) and Acetonitrile in the ration 70:30. The drug release was evaluated by High Performance Liquid Chromatography method at 254 nm. The method was validated to meet requirements for a global regulatory filing. The validation included specificity, linearity, precision and accuracy. It may be said that the proposed methods are precise, sensitive, and accurate, so that these can be used as standard Pharmacopeial methods for the determination and calculation of impurities in Mirapex tablets for Pramipexole using the HPLC systems.

The value of BOD (.17 – 1.2 ppm) COD 3-4 PPM, CL content 301-337 ppm. Acidity 27-337 ppm. TDS 420-490 ppm. These values are above the standard values makes the water unfit for people use i.e. polluted waterborne contaminated water.

ABSTRACT: India as a major hot-spot region for Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection as identified by World Health Organization. The present study was conducted to characterize the sequences of the loci associated with multidrug resistance in clinical isolates of M. tuberculosis from Union Teritory, Chandigarh to identify the respective mutations. The loci selected were rpoB (rifampin), katG and the ribosomal binding site of inhA (isoniazid), gyrA and gyrB (ofloxacin), and rpsL and rrs (streptomycin). We found known as well as novel mutations at these loci. Few of the mutations at the rpoB locus could be correlated with the drug resistance levels exhibited by the M. tuberculosis isolates and occurred with frequencies different from those reported earlier. Missense mutations at codons 526 to 531 seemed to be crucial in conferring a high degree of resistance to rifampin. We identified a common Arg463Leu substitution in the katG locus and certain novel insertions and deletions. Mutations were also mapped in the ribosomal binding site of the inhA gene. A Ser95Thr substitution in the gyrA locus was the most common mutation observed in ofloxacin-resistant isolates. A few isolates showed other mutations in this locus. Seven streptomycin-resistant isolates had a silent mutation at the lysine residue at position 121. While certain mutations are widely present, pointing to the magnitude of the polymorphisms at these loci, others are not common, suggesting diversity in the multidrugresistant M. tuberculosis strains prevalent in this region. Our results additionally have implications for the development of methods for multidrug resistance detection and are also relevant in the shaping of future clinical treatment regimens and drug design strategies.

ABSTRACT: In this paper we consider a machine repair problem with spares, balking and reneging. The failure and repair of machines is assumed to be exponentially distributed. Birth and death process is employed to formulate the mathematical model of the problem. The Chapman-Kolmogorov equations are formulated for steady state, which have been solved recursively. The queue size distribution for the system having N operating units along with the mixed spares of which S1 are warm and S2 are cold is established using product type technique. Some special cases are deduced which tally with earlier existing results. To find out the optimal number of spares and repairmen a cost function is also mentioned.

were made to initiate the commercial production of jojoba seed and wax but they were soon abandoned due to the absence of adapted cultivars. For this reason, a selection program that is intended to identify high yielding genotypes adapted to western and north regions of the country was initiated. This work examines the performance of jojoba clones and uses some agronomical and chemical traits as descriptors for discrimination and selection of jojoba clones. The field trials were carried out at three planting sites in Makkah, Al Madinah and Hail districts. Nine promising individual mother plants were selected from a heterogeneous seed stock planted in Makkah area on the basis of plant habit, consistency in seed yield and wax production. The selected mother plants were vegetatively propagated and planted in three experimental farms western and northern Saudi Arabia. Significant differences were found among the clones in most of the evaluated parameters in Al Madinah area but limited variations were observed at Hail and Makkah areas. High significant correlations were observed among most of the studied traits. Data on individual seed weight, seed yield and seed wax content in addition to number of floral buds, node length and plant height (one parameter at a time) were used to make selection indices (SI). The results obtained in this work indicate that there is a moderate genetic variability among jojoba clones established in western and northern Saudi Arabia which could permit utilization of some of the evaluated clones in establishing commercial plantations for seed and wax in areas north of latitude 24°N. At lower latitudes, the fast growth of the jojoba bush will permit its utilization in sand stabilization, landscaping, desertification, open natural range lands and national parks projects.
