ABSTRACT: The effect of Dy-substitution in M-type strontium hexaferrite has been examined in a series of samples with the composition of Sr1-xDyxFe12O19 (x = 0.0, 0.10, 0.20 and 0.30) have been prepared by employing the ceramic technique, in order to study the effect of Dy-doping on structural and microstructural properties of strontium hexaferrite. The samples were sintered at 1150oC for 8 hours. The structural properties of the calcined samples were studied using X-ray diffraction (XRD), SEM technique and FTIR spectrum. The X-ray diffraction patterns shows that the prepared samples have a single phase and the effect of composition on the unit cell parameters, density and porosity has been studied. Spectrum of Sr1-xDyxFe12O19 ferrites has been studied. The lattice parameters ‘c’ and ‘a’ was found to increase by increasing Dy-content whereas the X-ray density decreases and porosity increases by increasing Dycontent. Microstructural analysis by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) suggest that the compound have small grains distributed uniformly and non-uniformly on the surface of the sample and also shows that the grain size has been decreased by increasing the Dy-content in the composition Sr1-xDyxFe12O19 .

ABSTRACT: Few complexes of Transition metals have been synthesized by reacting their metal salts with Rabeprazole. Transition metal complexes of Ni (II), Co (II) and Zn (II) have been synthesized with Rabeprazole i.e. 2-([4-(3-methoxypropoxy)-3-methylpyridin-2-yl] methylsulfinyl)-1H- benzimidazole](L) which is an antiulcerative drug. From elemental analysis, the complexes have been formulated as ML2 for Zn (II) complex and ML2.2H2O for Ni (II) and Co (II) complexes. The ligand behaves as O, N donor and forms coordinate bonds through C = N and S = O groups. IR, NMR, Magnetic susceptibility, UV-Visible spectral studies suggest that Ni (II) and Co (II) complexes possess octahedral geometry whereas Zn (II) complexs exhibit tetrahedral geometry. Ligand and their metal complexes have been screened for their antibacterial activities against bacteria Escherichia coli and Staphylococci aureus. The result obtained is compared with that of parent drug. The result reveals that the metal chelates showed resistance as compared with parent drug.

ABSTRACT: In the present study, the structural and transport properties of single wall gallium nitride nanotubes (SWGaNNTS) were theoretically studied by using ab-initio calculations under density functional theory (DFT) with TranSIESTA code employing norm-conserving pseudopotential. During the calculation, the tetragonal supercell geometry has been chosen and the relaxed atomic position was used by applying the conjugate gradients (CG) method in molecular dynamics. Maximum force tolerance in CG coordinates optimization set at 0.04 eV/Å. In these computations exchange-correlation energies were obtained using local density approximation (LDA). The results showed that the curvature has prominent effect on the band structure of SWGaNNTs, the energy bandgap decreases as the decrease the diameter. The calculated bandgap of (9,0) is 1.8126 eV are good experiment with the previous reported by theoretical studies. It is also observed that, there is a corresponding relation between the electronic transport properties and the valley of state density of GaNNT. In addition, the I-V graph of GaNNT is approximately linear for lower bias voltage and increases rapidly after that show ballistic transmission.

ABSTRACT : In spite of numerous techniques available for determining the structural organisation, the viscometric method is superior due to its simplicity. The extensive treatment of the dependence of viscosity on the shape and size of the polymers has been reviewed (1). Several notable workers have studied the diverse effects of surfactants on proteins using this method [2-8]. Arora and co-workers have also investigated surfactant protein combinations using viscometric and other related methods [9-12]. However, a literature survey revealed that no such work has been done so far on the interaction of anionic surfactant like triethanolamine lauryl sulphate (ALS) with gluten (from wheat seeds). With a view to extend the existing knowledge of rheological nature of detergent-protein systems, it was thought of interest to investigate flow properties of TE ALS-gluten mixtures. The present research work reports the results of TEALS-gluten system as determined viscometrically. Additional evidences of interaction below isoelectric point are given by measuring the transmittance of detergent-protein mixtures. The effect of pH and temperature on the flow behavior is discussed. A tentative mechanism of combination and unfolding is postulated.

ABSTRACT: With more and more population growth increases the standard of living is also increasing demand for clean water. Municipal government responsible should be better coordinated with the region's overall water management. Sustainability of public health, protection of the environment and the economy are key to clean water. More storage of water behind dams and especially in aquifers via artificial recharge is necessary to save water at the time of excess water for use at the time of his absence. Use should be carefully planned and take measures to prevent adverse health effects in the case of groundwater contamination. Almost all of the planet's fresh liquid water occurred in groundwater, its long-term suitability as a water source is threatened by non-Point sources of pollution from agriculture and other sources that are aquifer resources depletion due to groundwater withdrawals exceeding recharge groundwater. Salty waters from drainage should then be handled in an environmentally responsible manner. Some countries can save water by importing most food, goods and electricity from other countries holding more water, so basically they also get water was needed to produce these goods. Water "virtual". Local waters can then be used for high social, ecological, or economic or saved for the future. Climate change global warming caused by carbon dioxide emissions are difficult to predict in space and time. Resulting uncertainties require flexible and integrated water management best to handle excess water, water shortages and weather extremes.

ABSTRACT: In this paper, we have considered a Non-Newtonian Casson fluid model of blood flow and obtained the expression for velocity and flow rate. We have investigated some characteristics of steady one dimensional laminar blood flow along an inclined plane influenced by the gravitational force. The velocity profile and flow rate were discussed graphically for various values of yield stress  and inclination angle .

ABSTRACT: The study was conducted at Ennhood Desert Sheep Research Station, North Kordofan State, Sudan. The experiment have been carried during late dry summer season for a period of 90 days, to evaluate the effect of feeding urea-treated groundnut hulls and molasses on performance of desert sheep lambs belong to Hamari ecotype. About 60 lambs (thirty males + thirty females), five to seven months age and 23.4 kg average live weight were used; divided into three equal groups: A, B and C each. Urea 5% treated groundnut hulls (UTGH) was ensiled for 30 days. Group (A) received 400gm and group (B) received 200 gm UTGH plus 30% molasses; Group (C) free grazing (the control). Live weights gained were determined. Data were statistically analyzed using analysis of variance pertaining to factorial arrangement by SPSS version 10.05- computer program. The total body and daily weight gains were significantly (p<0.001) different between feeding groups. Males had significantly (p<0.05) higher daily weight gain and body weight than females. Feeding supplementation of urea-treated groundnut hull and molasses to grazing desert lambs is efficient for maintenance purposes. More studies are needed to confirm the effects of inclusion of urea-treated groundnut hull and molasses as basal feed on growth characteristics of desert sheep lambs.

ABSTRACT: Synthesis, characterization by spectroscopic studies of Fe(II)) with Gliclazide, an oral antidiabetic allopathic drugs have been studied. The conductometric titration using monovariation method indicates that complexes are non-ionic and L2M type. Analytical data agrees with the molecular formula (C15H21N3O3S)2Fe.2H2O of complexes for Gliclazide, structure of complexes was assigned octahedral supported by IR, and 1H-NMR studies and propose structure (I) for complexes.

(like temperature, pressure, stoichiometry of the gases) and design parameter (area of the cell) on the performance of a PEM fuel cell is developed in this research work. The load current, terminal voltage and power density etc are estimated at different conditions. The program finds out most suitable fit of design parameters with given environmental and electrical conditions by the application of Genetic Algorithm. The mathematical model of the fuel cell is developed on the basis of semi - empirical fuel cell stack model and associated with balance of plant (BOP) model. The program also generated characteristic graphs of fuel cell according to feasible parameters by using Graphical User Interface (GUI) in MATLAB. The application of this methodology results in a set of optimal mix of operating parameters with design parameters results large improvement in system performance with respect to slight variation in electrical conditions.

ABSTRACT: In the present work, degradation of commercial reactive Procion Yellow (PY) dye was studied using photocatalyst combinations (TiO2/UV/Solar/pH). For degradation of PY dye, batch experiments were carried out by irradiating the aqueous solution of dye, in the presence of semiconductors as titanium dioxide (TiO2). The effect of various parameters such as catalyst loading, pH, oxidant dose, intensity variations and initial concentration of the dye on degradation has been investigated. The effect of process parameters viz. pH (2–10), irradiation time, initial concentration of dye (50-200 ppm), UV intensity and photocatalyst loading (0.62–1.5 g/L) on degradation of dye has also been assessed. The experimental results indicated that 83.6% degradation occurred at optimized conditions (Dye concentration 100 ppm, pH 7.8, TiO2 dose 0.5g/L, UV intensity 25 W/m2 and time 3.5h). The performance of the solar photocatalytic system appears to be a suitable alternative to TiO2 in the presence of UV light at natural pH.

ABSTRACT: This paper attempts to highlight the affect of gender and positive/negative attitude in regards to achievement in mathematics of the students of class-X in Secondary Schools located in the District of Nagaon under the state ‘Assam’. A questionnaire containing 50 questions was prepared with positive and negative implications which was administered to 500 students selected, 25 from each school, and then the students were asked to exercise their responses with five options: (i) strongly agree, (ii) agree, (iii) neutral, (iv) disagree and (v) strongly disagree. The data collected from the questionnaire responses were analysed using statistical tools. The outcome reveals that a) most of the boys and girls have positive attitude towards mathematics. b) there exists a slight difference in achievement in mathematics due to gender. c) there is no difference in achievement in mathematics due to medium of instruction (Assamese and English only).

ABSTRACT: A fast, sensitive and accurate reverse phase liquid chromatographic method was developed and validated for the simultaneous determination of Anastrozole and Temozolomide in an anticancer dosage form. Chromatographic separation was achieved on Inertsil C8 column (250 x 4.6 mm, 5 μm particle size) with a separate gradient mobile phase consisting of Ammonium acetate buffer and Acetonitrile with at a flow rate of 1.0 mL/ min. The analytes were detected at 215 nm for Anastrozole and Temozolomide by PDA detector. The retention time of Temozolomide and Anastrozole were found to be at 7.663 ± 0.1 and 23.158 ± 0.1 mins respectively. The linearity of the method ranged between 0.0165 and 15.0 μg/ mL for both the Anastrozole and Temozolomide with correlation coefficient 0.999 for both the drugs in a binary mixture. The LOD was found to be 0.00825 μg/ mL and 0.0085 μg/ mL for Anastrozole and Temozolomide respectively and LOQ was found to be 0.0165 μg/ mL and 0.017 μg/ mL for Anastrozole and Temozolomide respectively.

ABSTRACT: The purpose of this study was to assess phenotypic variations and determine the types and levels of major nutrients in the seeds and leaves of Moringa peregrina (Forssk.) Fiori as a potential multipurpose crop in arid environments . The experimental work was conducted on seven Moringa populations. Five of these were natural stands located in the north west of Saudi Arabia and the other two were raised in irrigated farms located in the in central part of Red Sea coast . Tree height, stem diameter at BDH, pods length, pod weight, number of seeds per pod, weight of seed per pod, 100 seed weight, kernels oil and protein contents, fatty acid composition, amino acid composition of seeds and dry leaves and culms and macro and micronutrients in the leaves and the kernel were determined. The Moringa population in Ssgoon valley had significantly the longest pods (29.3 cm). Significant interactions between years and valleys were observed for each of the studied traits. Pod length was negatively correlated to weight of seed / pod, whereas gross pod weight was positively correlated to number of seeds / pod, weight of seeds / pod and 100 seed weight. Oil percentage in the seed, across locations, ranged from 54.29% to 57.25%, whereas protein content ranged from 11.7 % to14.6%. The results revealed that both culms and dry leaves are good sources of protein and essential minerals comparable to those recorded for Moringa oliefera. Out of the 17amino acids found in leaves and seeds, 9 were classified as essential amino acids. Fatty acid profiling of the seeds showed that of the 9 fatty acids identified in the seeds 5 were classified as the saturated. Oleic (53.94% to 64.19%), palmitic (12.89 % to 17.88) and stearic (6.63 to 11.51) acids were present in relatively the highest amounts.

ABSTRACT: Pearl millet (Pennisetum glaucum) is the most widely grown type of millet. It is locally known as bajra, and is primarily consumed in the states of Haryana, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. In Rajasthan it forms the staple diet of the local people. Ecologically, insects play many different roles as pests, predators and parasites, pollinators, decomposers and scavengers and so forth. The present study was undertaken to survey the insect fauna in an agro-ecosystem situated in the Indian desert in Jhujhunu district situated in western Rajasthan on bajra crop. The insect visitors were surveyed and collected every week from October 2008 to April 2009. Sweep net was used for insect collection. In all, ninety insect species were found to be associated with the crop. Of these, 14 were coleopterans, 28 were lepidopterans, 12 were hemipterans, 16 were hymenopterans, 6 were dipterans, 2 were dictyopterans, 8 were orthopterans, 3 were odonates and one was a neuropteran.
