Nowadays, electronic museum guides have evolved to a point that can act as navigational and informational devices in the museum context; thus they also enable the collection of large volumes of spatiotemporal visitor movement data, from which individual visitor trajectories can be extracted and analyzed. These trajectories have individual characteristics expressed through unique semantics in each museum context (based on the museum, its exhibits and its visitors) and they are restricted in an indoor environment that provides additional constraints. This work presents the benefits, the challenges, and a direction for studying museum visitor movements through context-aware indoor trajectory modeling, mining and analysis.

Serious video games applied for learning purposes play a significant and important role for the modern technology enhanced education. The paper presents an educational 3D maze video game dedicated to the development of carpet fabrication in Bulgaria since 17th century until modern days. The game was automatically generated by means of declarative description of the maze processed by an open software tool named Maze Builder and built on top of Unity game platform and specially designed for automatic generation and easy modification of maze video games. There are explained the maze game design process, the educational tasks embedded into the maze, and a practical experiment conducted with the generated game. The initial results obtained from these experiments are very positive and encouraging with regard of playability of such educational mazes and, as well, concerning their easy and straightforward generation by educators, who are not IT professionals.

Digital object identifier (DOI), which appeared in the late 1990s, allows users to immediately find on the Internet the digital object they are interested in – an article, book, journal, dissertation, etc. Nowadays the DOI technology is widely used by foreign publishers. The availability of DOI in scientific documents, as well as the inclusion of DOI in bibliographic references in the literature, has already become a mandatory requirement for journals indexed in the Web of Science and Scopus databases. The paper deals with 3D scanning techniques and instruments to survey the complex stuccoes from the architectural building Nanu-Muscel from Bucharest. EXAscan Portable 3D Laser Scanner has been used to exploit the advantages of the 3D surveying techniques and produce digital models and other geometric representations useful for the protection of historic architectures and a correct solution for their restoration. After the parameterization, the scanning of two stucco-objects surface yielded to a network of points. The program analyzes the points and joins them, so the final result being the scanned object in electronic format (digitized), by "Digitized Shape Editor" module in the Catia program. The not useful surfaces have been removed and for the symmetrical reconstruction the mirroring operation was applied.

The paper presents a guided smartphone walk (Attila József Literary Walk) and its latest supplements, based in district 9 of Budapest. The thematic guided walk developed 2 years ago covers the scenes of the childhood of the poet Attila József. Several interactive games related to the life of the poet were developed and integrated into the application. This April, the developers of the walk prepared and arranged a special orientation field competition based on the mobile games for students studying in the district.

The absence of adequate training is one of the main problems for museum specialists in the process of digitalization of tangible and intangible cultural heritage. The first part of the paper presents the main results of a survey related to the topic among the staff of Regional historical museum Burgas. The second half discuss-es the paradigm of Massive open online courses (MOOC) as one innovative and flexible solution for continuing vocational education and training. Presented are the results of a large scale research conducted in the framework of BizMOOC project regarding the usage of MOOCs for corporate training in European organizations including cultural institutions such as museums, libraries, archives etc.

The article describes an interactive software environment for learning as an accessible tool to supplement the learning content. The environment, under development, is in line with the State Educational Standards (SES) of educational content for the cycle Social Sciences and Civic Education. The E-learning environment uses a database those objects describe Bulgarian architectural heritage under the protection of UNESCO. The project focuses on understanding by design of new learning content and its application to educational courses on the history and culture of Bulgaria.

Our growing cognisance about the chemo-physical properties of electromagnetic waves and of their interaction with various materials provides expanding range of possibilities for quantification and non contact material characterization even in difficult to computation, « non-standard » domains as this of the cultural heritage. This review - thematically part of the IFIDA project dedicated to digitization of archaeometric and conservation-restoration praxis - deals with the possibilities latest neuroinformatic methods offer for a more efficient and fast interrogation, understanding and classification of multi-modal spectral records of paintings on various supports. The workflow followed during their routine non destructive (ND) analysis by human experts is described in terms of specific technical characteristics, research objectives and concrete application for the artworks' characterization as a prototype to simulate artificially. References to techniques for high semantic level information extraction from low-level features are suggested. The strengths and limitations in application of Deep Belief Networks (DBNs) for compression, visualization and data recognition are also considered. Examples of most appropriate architectures and topological maps of Deep Learning Networks for interpretation of UV, IR, XR, β, γ and CT records performing simple characterization and classification tasks - from single layer perceptron to multi-layer deep belief neural networks for unlabelled data - are presented and explained.

The aim of our research is to trace and passport the Russian bells in Bulgaria on the way of the Russian troops from the Danube to Shipka, given in gratitude for the help provided during the Russian-Turkish War (1877-1878). The exceptional contribution of Felix Kanitz to Bulgarian scientific and cultural development is an occasion to present to Bulgarian and European public his artistic and documentary heritage, to turn again our attention to the personality and the significant achievements of the great explorer of the Balkans in the 60s and 70s of the nineteenth century. Kanitz`s imagery and literary heritage belong to the most valuable elements of our material and spiritual culture. In the prospect of association of our society to the European community Kanitz`s works should be understandably promoted in the scientific space so as to point out Felix Kanitz`s cultural contributions to Bulgaria and to better identify his relationship with both the national Bulgarian identity and the Balkans and European nations. The artistic works and literary heritage of F. Kanitz which have been preserved until today are valuable elements of the common European material and spiritual culture. The time has come for them to be presented correctly in the scientific world and through the new communication technologies to become available for the public. The Scientific Archive and the Central Library of BAS have a mutual project for specifying and broadening the knowledge about the life and work of Kanitz, and for digitalizing and publishing pages of his private archives. This is a responsible researchers` task which has an important significance for affiliating the Bulgarian culture into European cultural environment.
