Purpose – The study aims to develop a system for finding apartments and boarding houses named as HAYBOL. This android-based apartment locator application is a mobile one that can be used by the community especially students, easily find apartments and boarding houses as well as to help owners promote their businesses. Method – The proponents used Rapid Application Development (RAD) in developing the software which is a systems developmental method that follow phases such as requirement planning, user design, construction and cutover. Then, it also facilitated testing and evaluation, purposive sampling was used to select the respondents. Two sets of questionnaires were developed, one for the apartment and boarding house owners and another for the tenants. Results – Based on the result on the system evaluation using ISO 9126 in terms of functionality, usability, content, reliability and performance. Overall, the application was rated as 3.55 over which verbally-interpreted as excellent. Conclusion – The system meets its objective to provide access to the users an application for finding apartment in a convenient way. HAYBOL is well-commendable and accepted by the community which provides a better, easy way of advertising apartments and boarding houses, and reliable tool for finding nearby apartments and boarding houses. Recommendations – It recommends an expansion of the system coverage throughout the Laguna Province and to add a user guide and direction on the easiest ways to go to a chosen apartment to improve the effectiveness and functionality of the application. Research Implications – Real time apartment information is currently growing which much provides more good services to make renters life easier. Once mobile locator application has been established in the business will help users to personalize their search and reduce the amount of time wasted on a bad rental fit and assist to set a budget looking for apartment you can afford.

Purpose – This research project seeks to design, develop, and test the acceptability innovative e-learning management system to transform traditional methods into Information Communication and Technology (ICT) based approach, to improve the quality of education, enhance teachers’ teaching strategies, and to meet the demands of the 21st century teachers and learners as a result of the implementation of the K to12 ICT integration in Araling Panlipunan (AP). Method – The researchers conducted a series of surveys and interviews with the ICT heads, AP department heads, master teachers, and district supervisor. Questionnaires and literature were also employed to gather relevant information vital to planning, designing and development of a prototype. The design of the system is responsive to mobile and another portable device. The system development was divided in four phases: requirement planning, user design, construction or development and cutover. The developers used software development languages, such as HTML5 and PHP. The programmers employed MySQL database. In addition, other necessary software requirements were also used like internet browser, Notepad++, Adobe Dreamweaver, TinyMCE and XAMPP. Alpha and Beta testing were used to minimize the errors experienced by respondents. The result of system testing was analyzed descriptively using frequency, rank, and weighted mean. Results – The system was tested and evaluated using the ISO 9126 Evaluation Model to determine the acceptance level of the proposed system. The overall acceptance rating in terms of functionality, reliability, usability, efficiency, maintainability and portability is highly acceptable. It was a good indication that the developers met the necessary requirement of a learning management system by incorporating additional features. Conclusion –The goal of creating this alternative approach of teaching and evaluation process is to support teachers and students’ adaptation to e-learning and e-assessment. The study also achieved its goals to meet the demands of 21st century teachers and learners as a result of the implementation of K-12 curriculum through customized online-based responsive e-learning and e-assessment tool. These trends for Philippine education systems will empower the teachers and students to become more confident and competent in the use of technologies, shared resources, and collaborative learning. Recommendations –The system will bring new educational experiences to the young generations of both elementary teachers and students in particular to the DepEd-Division of Laguna. The system may be presented to the Department of Education for implementation as basis for creating e-learning tool not only for Araling Panlipunan but for all courses with more interactive and collaborative features in the system. Implications –The implementation of the said system is highly recommended to cope with the emerging trends of ICT in Education as a result of the implementation of the K to 12 programs. Furthermore, learning and assessment process can become more exciting and productive when ICT is being applied in public schools which can be a new student-centered assessment means to gauge learners and likewise recognize diverse learning styles.

Purpose – This mixed method descriptive study aimed to show the impact of Organizational, Technological and User-related factors on software quality. It also assessed the strength of association between these factors and software quality attributes. Method – Toward this goal, data from 405 employees of member companies of the Philippines Software Industry Association (PSIA), together with Emerson Electric Asia and NGA Human Resources were analyzed. Results and Conclusion – The results showed that values of sampling adequacy Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) for organizational, technological and user-related determinants are higher than the standard, indicating a good and reliable sample size. The exploratory factors were selected through series of Monte Carlo PCA for parallel analysis on which three components were extracted and retained from each group of determinants that best represented the factors. Organizational determinants of software quality retained “Company Culture”, “Time Resource” and “Process Management”. User-related determinants retained “Level of User Involvement”, “User Resistance to Change” and “Users’ Training on Systems”. Technological determinants retained “Input-Output Services”, “Type of Database Model Used” and “Network Reliability”. Results of logistic regression then showed that organizational, user-related and technological determinants are strongly associated with software quality presented in five attributes: Ease of Use, Maintainability, Relevance, Reliability and Usefulness. Research Implications – This study is by far the first in the Philippines and is very relevant as the country is slowly becoming a global titan in the Business Process Outsource business. The results obtained are beneficial for the academe to devise curricula that would prepare students to the IT industry, and to industry’s senior management to devise software quality improvement programs to align IT strategies to business strategies; thus, having an IT enabled business strategy.
