This article provides a thorough analysis of the indications of the Divinity of the LXX in the presentation of the Letter of Aristeas as the earliest
known source about this event. The analysis is made both in the aspect of
the author's intended goals of the Letter, and with the involvement into the
analysis of individual words, expressions and hints in the text of the Letter,
as well as taking into account the historical and cultural environment. The
author makes the conclusion that despite the absence of direct indications
of the Divine Inspiration (for example, as in "De Vita Mosis" by Philo), there
are many indications that the author of the Letter considers the translation
rather the fruit of Divine revelation, comparable to Sinai, than simply the
result of human efforts, which further reinforces the authority of the Septuagint. In addition, as a necessary preparatory work, the author made a detailed analysis of possible criteria for the inspiration of the sacred text, an
analysis of the mythological element in Tradition in relation to the results
of modern biblical science, and also considered the issues of sacralization
of the letter of the text and its spirit.
