Indian Telecom Sector is one of the fastest growing domains compared to other sectors of development, which has received extensive investments, both by government as well as private players in the recent years. The prime purpose of this study was to compare the performance of Public and Private Telecommunication sector with reference to wireless services in Assam Telecom Circle. The paper tried to explore and understand the major similarities and differences existing between the public and private cellular service providers in terms of market penetration effectiveness, their subscribers’ base, revenue earned by them etc. in the above mentioned Circle. National and State level data of Telecom Sector was collected on a periodic basis over time. A critical evaluation had been done with the help of Applied Analytical Research, by using facts and information already available. The result showed that there were few common factors applicable to both Public and Private Telecom Sector; however significant differences in performance are there in these sectors in Assam Circle. The key findings from this study describe that visibly the Private Sector had better performance than Public Sector in terms of few parameters considered in this study, which might indicate a possible development direction for the effectiveness of Public Sector in this Circle.

Women have commonly less power, chance and empowerment to interfere in making decision about RCH matters between men in most parts of South Asia. It is related to her education, ethnicity, deprivation level, urban/rural classification. This study based on this issue that, does level of woman empowerment affect Inter-spousal communication on RCH matters in the context of India, Nepal and Bangladesh. So, study tries to understand the role of women empowerment on spousal communication about RCH matters with a specified hypothesis. For analysis purpose the Demographic and Health Survey-2006-07 data on currently married women of age 15-49 years has used. Principal Component Analysis (PCA) method used to generate an empowerment index (WEI) to see the effect of empowerment on inter-spousal communication with controlling the selected socio-economic and demographic factors. Bi-variate and tri-varite model findings shows that large proportion of women have low socio-economic and demographic status like age, residence, wealth, religion, education and media exposure and falls with low tertile group of empowerment. The proportion of women is increasing with increasing the level of empowerment for communication related to RCH matter between spouses. Multilevel logistic model found that approximately in range 5 to 8 percent in India, 5 to 7 percent in Nepal and 5 to 6 percent in Bangladesh of the residual variance in spousal communication with and without empowerment for decision making attributable to differences between regions. There is need improvement in socio-economic and demographic factors but India is in good position than Nepal, and Nepal is in good position than Bangladesh in empowerment. In Spousal communication on RCH matter women’s empowerment positively associated in all countries.

Health/Medical tourism is a booming niche tourism market in the tourism industry. The main reason for the increasing trend is the high cost of treatment, long waiting time, less insurance coverage in developed countries and the attitude of people to spend holidays in a quality manner with the aim of improving health. In India, Kerala is emerging as a prime health tourism hub for its Ayurveda packages. The state attracts millions of foreign and domestic tourists to visit the state’s incredible heritage and experience the traditional nature based treatment therapies. The volume of tourist arrivals in Kerala had experienced a stupendous growth of 7.7 per cent in 2014 from 4.3 per cent in 2001 (Annual report of Tourism Statistics, Department of Tourism, Government of Kerala). This study aims to profile the tourists visiting Kerala for Ayurvedic treatment and to identify the destination image factors making Kerala an attractive place for Ayurveda health tourism. For this purpose, 150 domestic tourists availing Ayurvedic treatment in Kerala were selected on the convenience of the researcher. In order to analyse the objectives, the Descriptive Statistics, Factor Analysis and One-way ANOVA were employed and the results revealed that service quality, attraction, opportunity, benefits and promotion were the destination image factors making Kerala an attractive place for Ayurvedic Health Tourism. The present study identifies the strength of Kerala for Ayurveda health tourism which helps the destination managers and the service providers witha better understanding of the market for elevating Kerala and its Ayurveda in this niche market.

The poor recognition of the critical role human beings play in the realization of organizational goals has led to consistent poor performance of organizations especially in the Sub-Sahara Africa. No meaningful transformation can be achieved if the human element in production process is toiled with, used and abandoned. This paper empirically investigated the claim by Michael LeBoeuf in his Greatest Management Principle Model in the world that “what gets rewarded gets done.” 87 respondents participated in the survey of the 13 ministries in Anambra State Civil Service. The instrument was adequately validated and its reliability duely established. The hypothesis of the study was tested using Z-Statistics to discover the difference between two means of the main variables of the study. The results showed that the cumulative mean of positive behaviours rewarded is 3.80 while the negative behaviours rewarded is 2.44. This made the null hypothesis to be rejected while the alternative was accepted. The significance of the difference was authenticated using the values of the standard errors. The findings of the study is that when employers reward positive behaviours in relation to the objectives of the organization, positive response would come from the employees. This was found to increase the performance of the employees. The study recommended among other things that the rewards employers give to employees must flow out of the objectives of the organization.

The paper examined the sensitiveness among the sample wards of Srinagar city – quality of life, built up condition, perception of residents annoyed by various environmental pollution indicators. Environmental quality may be analyzed objectively based on facts & figures .it should also be viewed through the mental map of residents the way they perceive their environment. The way they experience it such an image of the environment is bound to be partial, distorted, & simplified one .the Z-score variate has been used to examine the level of literacy. The spatial variation in perceiving the quality of life & the way to perceive the environment is reliant on the primary source the reason for the variation among the sample wards is due to the poor environmental management & socio- economic conditions.

Coastal tourism has become a major facet of modern life. Further, tourism development in the coastal zone has become a constant since the end of World War II. Coastal tourism is a process involving tourists and the people and places they visit, particularly the coastal environment and its natural and cultural resources. Most coastal tourism takes place along the shore and in the water immediately adjacent to the shoreline. In India Goa, Kerala, Karnataka were emerged spontaneously as a coastal tourism destination in the 1960s, its unique selling points being its natural coastal beauty. But the history of coastal tourism is not very old in West Bengal. The coastal stretch of West Bengal with a length of about 350 kilometer comprises the two districts- Purba Medinipur and Dakshin Chabbisparagana. In West Bengal there are many popular coastal tourism destinations, but coastal tourism in West Bengal started in 1980s. Present study focuses on historical background and development of the coastal tourism destinations in West Bengal.

The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of social media marketing on small scale business performance. In today’s social media driven environment, it is essential that small businesses understand facebook, twitter, and the strategies behind using social media for growing their business. Unfortunately, many small businesses do not have a strategy when they begin using social media. The objectives of this study include the following: to determine how effective employee training about social media of small to medium enterprises has increase brand awareness, to examine how employee participation in SME’s operation has increase sales, to identify how continuous improvement of SME’s strategies has improve customer service, and to examine how managerial commitment of SME’s has increase the implementation of social media campaigns. One hundred and fifty copies of questionnaire were administered to owner-managers and employees of selected SME’s in Ota Metropolis of which one hundred and thirty five of the questionnaires were returned completely filled and fifteen were not returned. Four hypotheses were formulated from the structure of the research questions, ANOVA, Correlation and other statistical tools were used in testing these hypotheses. A descriptive approach is presented, followed by an in-depth structured questionnaire with the small business owners. The study reveals the different strategies the owner uses to build and maintain relationships with consumers and the study concludes with important implications for small businesses. Networking and creating relationships with other businesses, increases brand exposure. By promoting another business or their product, they may promote yours. Engaging others makes your business visible to their audience and has the potential to reach hundreds or thousands of consumers. Focusing more on relationships than sales, increases sales. Social media provides businesses the opportunity to engage their audience on many different levels, including personal. In the beginning, it is important for a business to focus on creating relationships with consumers. An owner can show interest in its audience by commenting on individual’s posts or asking questions. Doing so also exposes the business to friends of fans and followers, increasing the business’s reach.

Banking jobs are becoming more and more lucrative and many people are joining the industry. Although numerous scholars have written more about the topic, many have failed to research into the banking industry on how organisational culture and employee job satisfaction can be used as a source of competitive advantage. This study investigates on how the impact of organisational culture on employee job satisfaction can be a source of competitive advantage. Using a case study method, the paper derives quantitative data from the employees of a selected banking company in Oxford-city, a city the, United Kingdom. The selected banking company has four (4) branches in Oxford with 100 workers working in all the four branches. A review of literature in two-fold: (i). Understanding supportive organisational culture and employee job satisfaction, and (ii). The impacts of organisational culture on the employee job satisfaction as a source of competitive advantage are conducted. This is followed by a summary of methodology and data analysis, ethical consideration and conceptual framework. Empirical analysis was conducted to determine the effects of organisational culture on employee job satisfaction as a source of competitive advantage. The empirical findings show that cultural traits of communication, motivation, growth opportunities and supervising support in organisations tend to make employees shift mind-set and help the firm in its competitive advantage. However, the discussion found out that employees within the company were not motivated enough to perform better due to lack of rewarding culture, growth opportunities (training) culture, communication and supervisory supportive culture.
