In the existing classification of the type of migration, studied by scientists in many countries, there is an interpretation of migrations due to forced resettlement, caused as a result of destructive influences on the part of state authorities in relation to ethnic communities or population groups in conditions of war, man-made disasters, floods, etc. In Russia, the use of such a mechanism was typical, especially during the period of the Great Russian Revolution, the Russo-Japanese War, the war of 1941−1945.
Undoubtedly, these actions inflicted tangible harm on the ethnic communities involved in the maelstrom of these complex migrations. In this regard, the migration processes in the countries of Western Europe, Southeast Asia, the military-political situation in Ukraine show how urgent this problem remains in modern conditions.
The study proposed by the author aimed to show how, for what reasons, these measures were taken during the 1941−1945 war with regard to ethnic minorities, what difficulties and transformations they had to overcome. The article contains many quantitative characteristics that reveal the completeness of the process, shows the resettlement of migrants, overcoming inconveniences, the consequences of the actions taken. An assessment of the measures taken is given.
