Five wood species i.e. Litsea roxburghii Hassk. (tangkalak), Erythrina fusca Lour. (cangkring), Melaleuca cajuputi Powell (kayu putih), Zanthoxylum rhetsa D.C.(ki tanah) and Sterculia cordata (Blume) BL. (huru leueur) originated from Ciamis and Tasikmalaya were evaluated their corrosiveness to iron metal screw in an open site exposed to sunshine and rain. Wood samples were divided radially into three groups,namely outer, middle and inner part of logs.The corrosion properties were identified by the weight loss of the attached metal screws. Results showed that iron corrosion wasfound in all over tested wood species. Rust discoloration was obtained on 2 weeks after exposing. The corrosion intensities were obtained by the variation of weight loss. Highest corrosion rates wasfound on samples of kayu putih. The highest weight loss of screw was found on kayu putih samples extractedfrom outer part log oftree P-II(Apart), i.e. 5.96%. The lowest weight loss ofscrew was encountered on huru leueur samples extractedfrom outer part oftreeP-II (Apart), i.e. 0. 04%.

Kulit manis (Cinnamomum burmanii BL) is known and cultivated for its aromatic content.The distilation process ofcinnamomum essencefrom kayu manis wood produces waste in theforms of particles and sawdust.This research was to explore one possible usage of the waste,i.e.to produce particleboard.Two types ofparticleboard were produced, using particles and a mix ofparticles and sawdust of kayu manis, respectively. Both particles and sawdust were oven-dried to reach a moisture content ofabout 5%. Ureaformaldehyde adhesive was used to reconstitute the particleboard. A hot pressing process (140° C and 25kgl 'cm' for 10 minutes) was applied to obtain three different densities, namely 0. 6, 0.7 and 0.8 kg/'cm'.Examination oftheparticleboard revealedphysical and mechanical propertieswhich meet the requirement ofIndonesian National Standard, except theparticleboard that was reconstituted using a mix of particles and sawdust with 0. 6 and 0.7 targetted densities.

This report described the application results of charcoal, compost charcoal, wood vinegar and mycorrbyza on the growing media ofMarinda citrifolia seedlingsfor 3-month duration. The objective ofthis work was to study the application ofcharcoal, compost charcoal, wood vinegar and mycorrbyza to the seedlingsgrowth character.The results revealed that the use of vegetation litter compost charcoal, sawdust charcoal, and bamboo charcoal each as much as 20% brought about the increase in the growths of those mengkudu seedlings with respect to height, diameter, leaf length, and leaf width compared to those of untreated seedlings (control}. Meanwhile,the use of wood vinegar as 2% was also able to increase those growth parameters,particularly the diameter of mengkudu seedlings that sustained 3 fold increase in comparison with the control. The mixture of vegetation litter compost charcoal (10%) and wood vinegar (2 %)presented the best mixture, and brought out significant effect on the growth ofmengkudu seedlings, particularly the increase in their height, leaf length, and leaf width as many consecutively 2. 72; 2.13and1. 40 times as those of the control (untreated mengkudu seedlings). On the other hand, the use ofmycorhiza as much asjust one tablet afforded as well the growth in the height, diameter, and leaf length, leaf width as many consecutively 2.16; 1. 67; 2. 08and1. 50 times as those of the control.

Water hyancinth growth in waters comodity and high cellulose compound,handling of water hyancinth is need so that water hyancinth doesn 'tdestructive waters ecosystem. Briquette from water hyancinth is one of solution to make use water hyancinth.this research aims to look for briquette optimum binder degree of water hyancinth and detect the best kind of water hyancinth briquetted who can developed to alternative fuel.The result shows that the best briquette characteristics charcoalfrom water hyancinth briquette with optimum binder is 5%,formixture briquette with optimum binder is 12,5%, and in biobriquette water hyancinth the optimum binder degree is 15% analysis leastsignificant difference shows best kind of water hyancinth briquette result is mixture briquette, i.e. calorific value as is 3061 cal/g,density 0,33 g/cm', persistencepresses 6,60 kg/m1, carbon degree 38,30%, water degree 6,40%, volatile matter degree 41,90%, and ash degree 13, 40%.
