The essence of the concept of sustainable development as a prerequisite for the development of the concept of corporate sustainability is described. Retrospective evolution analysis of approaches to understanding of corporate sustainability in conjunction with the development stages of the standard of sustainability reporting GRI is realized, that made it possible to release certain stages of development of the concept according to the degree of implementation of the principles of sustainable development in the activities of the company. Main trends of the modern development of the concept of corporate sustainability and sustainability reporting are determined.
