The modern WHO definition of “health” strongly emphasizes the inseparability of health and internal and social life of a man and one’s concern for the physical condition. Historically, the integration of medical sciences and social pedagogy resulted in development of a holistic concept of a health upbringing in theory – a health education (M. Demel 1980). The main aspects of health education: physical, mental and social are supposed to support health of individuals and the whole society. The article presents the dilemmas associated with formation of the sub-discipline of health pedagogy. Promoting health is a challenge for pedagogy, as it is indicated by the determinants of health, developed by Lalonde, lifestyle contributes to maintaining health condition in more than 50%. This is a major problem in all concepts linked to health education, as well as a humanistic approach to look at health issues of individuals and the whole society. The article presents the results of preliminary survey on the level of health awareness among master degree studies students. The study was conducted before the beginning of lectures on the subject of health education in 2014. The article is a voice in the debate caused by the current state of the research presented in numerous reports devoted to professional education. Its aim is to show the problems connected with the implementation of the educational process, particularly in basic vocational school. The authors draw attention to the phenomenon of the transition of pupils from the educational system to the labour market, and demonstrate its determinants. They consider both the deficits in the vocational education, as well as the possibilities of raising the quality of education in the schools of that type. They try to show some corrective actions, that can be taken to bring back the proper rank to the vocational education.

World of e-learning specialists also implement WCAG 2.0 requirements, even if sometimes it is connected with resignation of solution that so far has been used. Article transposes the WCAG 2.0 guidelines into the field of e-learning. WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) 2.0 covers a wide range of recommendations for making Web content more accessible. The complexity of our anatomy, individual and not only age-related differentiation causes difficulties while designing technically complex objects as clothes and shoes in their variety of models, shapes and size. Clothes and footwear are used in very different conditions (time, temperature, humidity). It creates problems with automation and robotics which results in maintaining many elements of technology and work organization typical of the craftsmanship. Nowadays when we are planning technologies and materials via foresight research, it is justified to set questions concerning the influence of innovative revolutionary IT designing techniques on preparation of modern methods to train specialists in shoemaking and clothes manufacturing. We are presenting an example of modeling a three-dimensional complex structure – the foot. This article points out the impact of the publication of Sophie Kovalevskaya – the Russian mathematician, Professor of the University of Stockholm to explore the ideas and organizational and programmatic assumptions of Scandinavian folk high schools by the Poles in the late nineteenth century and the first decades of the twentieth century. The author recalls the first Polish discuss of her article on the Swedish folk high schools (prepared for the St Petersburg magazine “Sewernyj Westnik, No 11, 1891), which appeared in the pages of magazines in Warsaw in 1891 and the Polish edition of the full text of the Russian scientist as an independent booklet: „Uniwersytet chłopski w Szwecji” (Eng.: “The university for peasants in Sweden”) in the K. Kowalewski printing house in 1903. Next, he pointed to the examples of the use this translations of Kovalevskaya work by the Polish authors (Michalski and Krzeczkowski, Lutosławski, rev. Ludwiczak et al.) to promote folk high schools as institutions that can contribute to development of the Polish rural areas.

In the context of aging societies a lot is spoken and written about the economic, social and vocational situation of senior people, but it is also worth considering, how the social, technological and civilization changes alter contemporary seniors. Long-life education is a quite popular idea, but more should be spoken and written about what is really changing in the seniors’ family life, the importance of changing family structure, how the value system of nowadays society is changing and how it can influence functioning of elderly people in their family environment, which is often the most important life environment for them. The article is an attempt to describe those changes, which are of the highest significance for the family life of nowadays seniors.
