The document and its institutional assemblages: the construction of the Prudente de Moraes’ house as institutional heritage
Abstract This is a study inserted in heritage field, which basis is the analysis of relation between recorded information and the constitution of institutional heritage. With the purpose of spreading the understanding of this area of knowledge, we will analyze the processes of listed building of Prudente de Moraes’ house, elaborated by preservationist bodies: National Historic and Artistic Heritage Institute, Council for the Protection of Historical, Artistic, Archaeological and Tourist Heritage, and Council for the Protection of Cultural Heritage of Piracicaba. The aim of this comparative analysis is to evidence in which way the document is comprehended as a space of shapes, of power and the materialization of values, which determines the heritage itself, not the contrary, as generally it is thought. We conclude, thus, more important than becoming a good in heritage is the construction of legal basis registered in documents that emerge as manifestation of values and institutional assemblages. Cultural heritage, documentary heritage: the archival fonds of PROMOART CNFCP / IPHAN
Abstract Documentary heritage is one of the categories of cultural heritage, but it is a transversal category when related to others, and this is evident when dealing with fixation, through documentary records of intangible heritage both archival or museum as bibliographical. This article is based on activities developed in CNFCP / IPHAN in partnership with UNESCO that had the purpose of studying and proposing the organization of the Archival fonds of the Program “Promotion of the Crafts of Cultural Tradition”(PromoArt) in the project " Diffusion and Extension of the Safeguard Policy for the Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage "of the National Institute of Historic and Artistic Heritage (IPHAN). The value of archival information in the society of knowledge: the fine line between state and citizen
Abstract This article approaches the value of archival information in the society of knowledge, considering its importance to the state and the citizen. Discussing about the fine line, where is found this information. Initially used as a form of domination and power of the state, as well for the management of the same, and then its use as a tool for the exercise of citizenship. The article also presents a reflection about the archival policies in Brazil. In this context, approaches the files as indispensable sources in knowledge construction and social development. What even might allow an overrunning on the path domain, being this the challenge of a society that seeks equality, justice and knowledge. Therefore, was sought out in the literature the fundamentals to bring concepts and perceptions of different authors about the value of archival information, prompting a reflection about the theme. The information flow in hospitals and a document management
Abstract The document management streamlines the activities of production, processing, classification, evaluation and archiving of documents, optimizing both the information flow as all the routine management of an institution. Advantage of this principle, This article seeks to reflect on the importance of document management for the information service and for the attendance in hospitals. The methodological work aimed to link up with a quantitative-qualitative approach, on a exploratory and descriptive mode. We take as empirical space Hospital Paraibano (HP), where a questionnaire was applied as an instrument of data collection, built on a mixed perspective. By analyzing the data, we perceive that the information services of the hospital has done so unsatisfactory, hampering the care of users/patients. Conclude that the implementation of a document management in hospital is necessary, for it will optimize the flow of information and improvement of medical care provided to the population. Doctor discourse about death in death certificate
Abstract The analysis aims to present a gesture of reading on the formulations of one of the doctors who signed death certificates in 1896, documents kept by the Intendency and preserved in the Municipal Historical Archive of Santa Maria. In these documents is observed the moving of meanings and the crossing of ideology in discourse, where a doctor was selected in a way to recognize the movements of their own professional category language expression, with the actual enrollment in its history based on the notion of discursive formation. The historic document as a source of preservation of memory
Abstract The purpose of this study is to reflect on the historic document and conceptions about it. It studies and examines issues related to memory and the concepts that can clarify what is a document, a historic document, documental and cultural patrimony and informational supports, which have been used by mankind throughout history. The types of sources used for historic study and the responsibility of historians in the construction of history are also addressed. It then discusses problems related to the preservation of archival documents, support, to technological advances and to changes in the communication media. Methodologically, the research is supported by the works of authors such as Prost, Le Goff, Rossi and Meneses. To conclude, it presents a reflection about the main challenges faced by professional archivists, librarians and historians responsible for selecting documents for permanent preservation, in terms of what to select and for whom. Conceptual notes concerning the principle of provenance
Abstract The Principle of Provenance consists in organizing the documents of a certain institution so that the original order is preserved. Through studies carried out in several countries, and the observation of the constant reference to the literature of the field, this paper intends to present a summary of what has been written on the position of authors who contextualize the Principle of Provenance discussing the procedures of its consolidation in the organization of archives over time. The intention is to provide information to implement new debate and reflection, and better understanding of the practices, theoretical studies on the subject and the means, of applying the Principle, that will contribute effectively to the fulfillment of the role of the archives in society: to keep the order of the documents of institutions or people to tell history and preserve memory in a way to show their true objective and the reason for them to have been created, resulting in the access to their information. Contribution to set boundaries on contemporary archival science
Abstract This article aims to set some boundaries on the so-called contemporary archival science or contemporary archivistics. By means of literature review, some of the milestones in archival science will be approached: the creation of archival institutions, the origin of archival science, the concept of records management, post-modern archival science, and research and education within the scope of archival science. From the biological classification to the digital classification: renovation perpectives in archival classification
Abstract The Archival classification is rated as one of the most fundamental and most difficult activities to achieve in practice, since the area has no clear parameters for its execution. Always been linked, in some way, to the principles of provenance and original order. During its theoretical development, was initially linked to a naturalistic perspective and related to biological classification of the nineteenth century. Years later, it begins a long process of redefining and refutation of this view, with the creation of classification schemes, by structural and functional perspectives with a relation with the institution administration, and at the present time, the classifications based in the series system and in a glimpse of a item-level classification. In this sense, this article seeks to trace the historical and conceptual framework of archival classification, by analysis of the major theoretical contributions of the past and of present, especially the authors responsible for the enunciation and crystallization of the classification concepts. The aim is also to build a theoretical background of the authors who today seek to redefine and rearrange theoretical concepts and practices related to this activity. Sound archives: College Radio from Universidade Estadual de Londrina
Abstract Sound Archive is a topic that is rarely addressed in the area of Archives. This study was conducted with the main objective is to investigate how the organization, storage, retrieval and digitization of audio archives in a Radio. To archives the proposed objective experiment was used as the Radio University from State University of Londrina, methodological procedures were developed by direct observation, based on the literature, more specifically the rules of organizing sound archives from Spain and Mexico, and using a semi structured interview guide, applied to the administrative technicians who work in the University Radio. As a result, it was observed that the Radio maintains a minimal structure of organization, storage, retrieval and digitization of your sound archives, but is required wide dissemination of standards on the subject so that the Radio can reach the international standard required. Arquivometric study collection of plant and Federal University of Santa Catarina
Abstract This study aims make a comparison between Map collection and wooden shelves with PVC pipes, to store plant in vegetable paper of the file from DAL/DPAE of UFSC. It also shows the relationship of costs between these two methods. The study was based on patterns of plants used in this department and can be adapted to the needs of those collections with different dimensions, thus showing an efficient and excellent optimization of space for Archives that store this type of documents.
