Preservation of the imagery memory of the Cancer Hospital of Londrina: a proposal for the organization of the photographs archive
Abstract The photographs archive is featured, among other things, as a place of memory preservation within the context of each institution to which it is organically connected. It becomes clear the need to establish a document management process based on criteria that enable efficiently and effectively the organization and, therefore, the access to these imagery documents. The purpose of this paper is to present a proposal for the organization and, more specifically, the representation of photographs related to institutions devoted to the Healthcare, emphasizing those photos which, somehow, are related to the Cancer Hospital of Londrina. The contribution of Textual Linguistics and their questions about the text communicability was emphasized. As a result, criteria such as cohesion and coherence were characterized as fundamental to the qualitative development of the abstracts. It is believed that this proposal will enable not only a way to consolidate the memory of the institution, as it ensures the physical integrity of these documents and their access, as well as enabling moments of reflection about the importance of a systematic management of imagery files for the various segments of the contemporary society.
