Este artículo: muestra cómo las nuevas tecnologías que se están aplicando en diversos ámbitos lúdicos y productivos se pueden adaptar y aplicar para dar respuesta a los principales retos existentes en el sector de la Ingeniería del Software; expone las propuestas tecnológicas en las que Indra está trabajando para proporcionar el soporte tecnológico necesario para cubrir los distintos retos y oportunidades que se plantean en la Ingeniería de Software; y presenta la Suite MInd y sus principales características, la cual supone el elemento vertebrador de las propuestas tecnológicas planteadas. Destacando que la Ingeniería del Software es un sector que necesita incorporar el dinamismo y agilidad tanto en la adopción efectiva de nuevas metodologías, como tecnologías y herramientas, para dar respuesta a los retos planteados en la actualidad y en el futuro inmediato, que pueden ser vistos como importantes oportunidades competitivas.

Model Driven Engineering (MDE) is an approach to software development where models play a central role in all software engineering processes. Conceived to provide significant gains in productivity, portability, maintainability and interoperability, MDE is now starting to be effectively used in industry. Thus, companies are beginning to evaluate their possibilities for adopting it. This paper examines the current state of MDE in industry, summarizes the current obstacles for adoption, and discusses the advantages that it should bring to businesses and its limitations. Finally, some ideas for a smoother transition towards a wider adoption of MDE are outlined.

Process modeling has become an essential part of many organizations for documenting, analyzing and redesigning their business operations and to support them with suitable information systems. In order to serve this purpose, it is important for process models to be well grounded in formal and precise semantics. While behavioural semantics of process models are well understood, there is a considerable gap of research into the semantic aspects of their text labels and natural language descriptions. The aim of this paper is to make this research gap more transparent. To this end, we clarify the role of textual content in process models and the challenges that are associated with the interpretation, analysis, and improvement of their natural language parts. More specifically, we discuss particular use cases of semantic process modeling to identify 25 challenges. For each challenge, we identify prior research and discuss directions for addressing them.
