The care to early childhood begins before the baby is born. At a prenatal phase the more care the couples feel, the better birthing process, care after childbirth and development of the baby. This service attends integrally to the person, considering the physical, psychological, social and educational needs. This article analyses the evaluation of professional attention in a health and educational centre by parents who want to give birth in quality centres outside the hospital. It also delves into the professional figure of the doula. To obtain this, from a descriptive record, it has been done the analysis of responses of couples (from a previous questioner) as a documentary analysis. Theresults suggest the need to diversify and extend to the alternative quality services affording parenting guidelines during pregnancy and after childbirth as offering career support during the whole process.

Process Nursing Care (PAE) is a systematic tool that facilitates the scientificity of care in community practice nurse, the application of scientific method in community practice, allows nursing to provide care in logical, systematic and comprehensive reassessing interventions to achieve the proposed results. It began with the valuation of Marjory Gordon Functional Patterns and then at the stage of diagnosis and planning North American Nursing Diagnosis Association (NANDA), Nursing Interventions Classification (NIC) and Nursing Outcomes Classification (NOC) is interrelate. It is a descriptive and prospective study. Diagnosis was made by applying the instruments measuring scale of the socio-demographic characteristics, symptom questionnaire for early detection of mental disorders in the community and appreciation for functional patterns. The PAE includes more frequent diagnoses, criteria outcomes, indicators, interventions and activities to manage community issues. alteration was evidenced in patterns: Adaptation and Stress Tolerance, Self-perception-Self-concept-, Role-Relationships, sleep and rest and Perception and Health Management. A standardized NANDA-NIC-NOC can provide inter care holistic care from the perspective of community mental health with a degree of scientific nature that frames the professional work projecting the individual, family and community care.

Determinar los aspectos epidemiológicos relacionados con sepsis en los pacientes atendidos en las unidades de cuidados intensivos de adultos de Santa Marta. Se realizó un estudio descriptivo transversal en el año 2014; muestreo aleatorio simple, en pacientes atendidos en unidades de cuidado intensivo adulto (UCIA) en Santa Marta. Se utilizó una muestra de 100 pacientes mayores de 18 años con diagnóstico de sepsis, las variables estudiadas fueron: edad, sexo, agente causal, principales focos de infección entre otros. Como resultado se encontró que la edad promedio de los casos fue de 63, los principales microorganismos causales fueron las bacterias gram negativas con un 76%, siendo la Echerichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Pseudomona aureuginosa y Serratia marcensens las más aisladas, en segundo lugar, las bacterias gram positivas con un 20%, principalmente el Staphylococcus aureus, y por último los hongos con un 4%, siendo Candida albicans y Candida haemulonii las levaduras causantes. Los focos infecciosos más frecuentes son; el abdominal (30%), seguido del tracto urinario (22%) y la piel y tejidos blandos (18%). Se concluye que los principales agentes causales de sepsis son las bacterias gram negativas y el principal foco primario infeccioso es la sepsis de origen abdominal.

Platelet count in peripheral blood of healthy subjects with antiplatelet drugs. 20 subjects were analized. They were distributed in two groups: subject A: 10 who received aspirin (100 mg) and B:10 with Clopidogrel (75 mg) for 7 days. In all subjects studied platelet count in peripheral blood and PRP. It found a platelet count before treatment with antiplatelet agents in peripheral blood of 258,6 ± 54,46 x 109 l and 7 days after 254 ± 41,86 x 109 l (aspirin) and 285,4 ± 70, 196,5 ± 37,90 x 109 l (Clopidogrel) respectively. In the PRP of subjects before receiving aspirin was 486,5 ± 129,54 x 109 l and after 449,2 ± 85,51 x 109 l; prior to Clopidogrel ingestion was 565,2 ± 150,41 and 592,9 ± 203,46 x 109 l after treatment. Significant differences were found only for the platelet count in the Clopidogrel Group (p < 0.05). A significant decrease in platelet count was observed in peripheral blood after administration of Clopidogrel, possibly as a result of its pharmacological mechanism. More studies are needed to assess a greater number of individuals and better measure the effect of antiplatelet agents

Consumir alcohol entre los adolescentes es cada día más frecuente, tal vez por al hecho de que su consumo está más extendido y normalizado que el de otras sustancias Igualmente, se han atribuido diferentes factores para el consumo de alcohol, tales como familiares, socioeconómicos y las características inherentes a la adolescencia, así entre los familiares se han encontrado el tipo de familia, haber recibido maltrato físico, psicológico y/o sexual, ausencia de los padres por diversos motivos, bajo ingreso económico y escolaridad de los padres; el deseo de explorar de los adolescentes y tener nuevas experiencias, la relación con sus pares, ampliación de su círculo social, asistir a fiestas, discotecas, compartir en reuniones sociales en las cuales se consume alcohol; adicionalmente las diferentes campañas publicitarias en todos los medios de comunicación que exhortan al consumo de bebidas alcohólicas

Computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging are medical diagnostic imaging techniques that provide excellent information from different infectious, traumatic or tumor processes anywhere in the body. It is identifying with them many diseases and characteristic patterns of them, one of them the ring enhancement in the central nervous system allowed. Many diseases have this imaging pattern: Glioblastoma multiforme, demyelinating syndromes, metastases, brain abscesses, cerebral toxoplasmosis, neurocysticercosis, lymphomas, and others. The objective of this article is to provide an overview of the most common diseases in imaging services, allowing its correlation with clinical features and providing aid to the clinician to establish a proper diagnosis.

Laser therapy is a new treatment option for its analgesic, anti-inflammatory and bio-stimulants properties and without significant adverse effects, for diseases such as oral Lichen Planus in its erosive form, characterized by chronic and painful ulcers with possibility of malignization, which obliges an adequate therapy. This article reports the clinical case taking into account ethical considerations framed in law 008430 of 1993 of a female patient 50 years old, with clinical and histopathological diagnosis of oral erosive Lichen Planus, who received initial treatment with corticoids local and systemic without improvement in 7 months; reason why is opted biostimulation with 980nm diode laser therapy, showing a significant reduction in the severity of injuries and decrease of pain from the first cycle of irradiation. Diode laser is safe and effective in this type of diseases treatment because it promotes healing, therefore it can be considered as an excellent alternative in cases of oral Lichen Planus resistant to corticotherapy.

Rotator cuff injuries are reason for consultation frequent in elderly patients. Most of the time there are no background traumatic acute generating progressive limitations in activities of daily living (ADLS). The objective of this study is to show results in tendonitis of the rotator cuff, in patients treated with extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT).It is a prospective descriptive observational study which presents clinical and functional outcomes in patients with described lesion, treated with ESWT with poor response to conventional treatments and clinical pictures of longstanding through implementing visual analog scale (VAS) of pain and evaluation of range of motion. The greater presence of lesion is present in women 63.6%. Mostly affected shoulder was right in a 63.6%. Found significant changes in VAS pre and post treatment with averages of 7.9 and 0.5 respectively and different statistical p < 0.001. We were conclude that the ESWT is an effective method in the treatment of the tendonitis of the rotator cuff with relief from pain and return to functional levels.

This empirical and analytical study follows a descriptive - transversal design in order to assess the negative expectations and risk of suicide in students of 9°, 10° and 11° year of an educational institution in the Department of Quindío, counting with a personal questionnaire and the Beck hopelessness scale as tools to do so. The risk of suicide is an issue of local, national and global public health that affects the quality of life of teenagers and youngsters from the “Eje Cafetero” area. The research showed that 8 out of every 10 students have a moderate risk, and the ages of prevalence are 15 and 16 years old. Bullying, domestic violence and permanent sadness contribute to increase this risk.

The review is based on the contribution that each discipline should provide the patient for a holistic care, which include medical assessment, monitoring and counselling as emotional support, assessment and nutritional monitoring as a key element in core requirements, physical activity that optimize the quality of life, social activities that can enter the individual in active groups, follow-up by nurses to the fulfillment of the ordered drug treatment , car care and orientation education to the family. The novelty of this proposal is to basically carry out care of the interdisciplinary team for treatment adherence. This review concluded that patients with lupus nephritis (NL) treated after assessment and follow-up holistic, such as system monitoring and adherence to the treatment of comprehensive care, provides better quality of life, and minimizes the risks of complication of the patient, avoiding recurrent hospitalizations.
