The article contains an assessment of biodiversity of ichthyofauna of the Dnieper reservoirs from the point of view of commercial fish stocks accessible for exploitation. It was shown that compared to the period of stable commercial exploitation, the biodiversity indices as a whole were characterized by positive dynamics. It was found a negative relationship between biodiversity indices and amounts of commercial fish catches.
There have been studied hydrochemical regime, natural food base, structural-functional indices of fish fauna and feeding of its major representatives after implementing a regime of fisheries exploitation of the Khmelnitsky NPP cooling water body.
Studied a population of Russian sturgeon (Acipenser gueldenstaedtii) using mtDNA markers. Analysis of the Cyt b gene region within the studied sample founded seven haplotypse differing in single nucleotide substitutions.
The article examines basic biological indices of the silver bream (Blicca bjoerkna L.) іn the Kremenchuk reservoir. There were analyzed the dynamics of commercial fish harvest of the inves- tigated fish species. Fixed presence in population of the multiple renewing on background of the elimination of the average and senior age groups as a result of efficient commercial fishery.
The article examines the diet of pikeperch (Sander lucioperca (L.)) of the Kaniv reservoir during spring period. According to obtained data, its diet included 17 food components, among which 14 fish species. The basis of its diet by the frequency of occurrence consisted perch (2.2%), roach (16.9%), monkey goby (14.6%) and own juveniles (10.0%). By the relative weight of food objects in the gut content, the dominated species were roach (42.9%) followed by perch (25.8%) and own juveniles (16.2%).

There has been presented the morphological characteristics and results of artificial reproduc- tion of European grayling of the Tereblya River basin. The grayling spawning brood stock in the Tereblya River consists of 3–4-year old breeders. With similar average body length — 20.4 cm, females had a weight of 70.8 g, while males — 69.0 g. Average working fecundity of females was 1059 eggs. Ejaculate volume of males was 0.05–0.2 ml, sperm mobility was on average 24 sec. Incubation output was 21–30%., larva survivability during feeding on living feeds — 26.3%, 0+ fish reached the body weight of 2–5 g with body length of 7 cm.
The main task of the study was identifying differences in growth parameters of individual trout hatchlings handled alone and in a group. Hatchlings were divided into two groups. The first group of hatchlings of various body length and weight was placed to 25 aquaria, a single fish in each. Another group was placed in three equal aquaria. Body weight and mortality have been recorded. Being in a group was found to compensate effects of stress factors. Isolation is a stress for trout hatchlings; combined with other stress factors, it can be a cause of death. These results indicate close connection between theories of group effect and stress.

Posibility of use of two-years steelhead spawners maturing for the first time for the purpose of fish culture. Juveniles obtained from fish with eggs with diameter not less than 4.5 mm were shown to be characterised by high growth and survival rate.
There has been studied a possibility of cryopreservation of sperm of the American paddlefish Polyodon spathula (Walbaum) with the aid of the developed dehydratation-vitrification method. Conditions of the bioobject cryopreservation were determined: media, cryopreservatives, and freezing-thawing regimes were selected. Preservation of defrosted gametes at an initial activity of the native spermatozoids of 95% was 60%.
The results of electronmicroscopic study of reproduction of koi herpes virus in the kidney of carp (Cyprinus carpio).These data demonstrate the similarity of morphological changes in these cells to the changes that are inherent in other herpes viruses of animals and humans.

Effect of using the new anti-bacterial drug floron on the one years carps with swimming bladder inflammation was showed. Studied impact of the disease on physiological biochemical indicators fish. Sensitivity of micro flora to the floron, selected from the sick fish was set. Floron has positive impact on sick fish when its use at dose 0.5 g of the drug on 100 kg of body weight fish.
