This research was basically based on qualitative study. It was the second conflict in Sampang, the rampage which exploded between some people who trying to block the Tajul Muluk’s followers and preventing them from going back to the Pondok Pesantren (Islamic Boarding House) of YAPPI in Bangil, Pasuruan. The data in this study was collected using three sorts of data collection techniques: interview, document analysis, and observation. It was done by using the conflict analysis method, from which the writer found out that this second incident appeared in Sampang is manifestation of latent conflict accumulation which is actually personal conflict complicated by some religious issues. The conflict is to be resolved by using both bureaucracy and cultural approaches.

This paper is a summary of the research conducted in the province of Special Region of Yogyakarta, and put people in the Yogyakarta City, Sleman Regency and Kulonprogo Regency as sample. This research aimed to discribe people’s perception of the of kiai (Islamic scholars) in the field of empowerment for improving the quality of religious life and increasing religious harmony in Special Region of Yogyakarta. The analysis results showed that the kiai has considerable role for improving the religious diversity among community and improve the quality of religious harmony. The public view on the dimension of beliefs, rituals and social very negative an relatively small. This reality showed that Yogyakarta people’s religious knowledge was quite diverse, so there is a different perception. People’s perception of the role of kiai in improving the quality of religious life and religious harmony based on the social background of respondents of all categories, respondents said that kiai have positive role.

Javanese manuscript is a noble heritage that should be preserved. This study was conducted to determine the values of harmony contained in the Serat Purwocampur. The method used in this study on a content analysis and philology. Serat Purwocampur consists of four kinds of macapat song: Asmaradhana, Girisa, Pangkur, and Dhandhanggula. Briefly, this manuscript contains ancient stories and supernatural, such as gods associated with the prophets or otherwise. Value of harmony contained in this manuscript is the acculturation between Hinduism and Islam (Islamic Javanization). Islam spread peacefully in Java, in additions Islam also taught its followers (the Javanese) to perform religion both syari’at and hakikat.

This research aims to evaluated the religions teachers performance at Aliya Madrasa after attending training functional programs which managed by Balai Diklat Keagamaan on province of West Nusa Tenggara. This research important to do to seeing the change of religion teacher performance on Aliya Madrasa whether increase or decrease after attending training functional program. By using analysis of context, input, process, product (CIPP) this study had 4 findings, there are: (1) In pedagogic competency, personality, social and professional, the performances of religion teachers in Aliya Madrasa after attending training functional programs were include into fairly category. However in competition achivement the religion teacher is under expectation. (2) Performance of the religion teacher in Aliya Madrasa after attending training functional programs give positive impact on students achievement. 3) The facilities of school like management, regulation and commitment of principal of Aliya Madrasa give positive impact to teacher performance, whereas support facilities in Aliya Madrasa is not support the increasing of religion teacher performance. (4) The Religion teachers performance after participated training functional programs gave positive impact to other teachers.

Tafsir Al-Huda, interpreting Quran in Javanese language, is one of Indonesia interpretation in which the context projecting the process of mingle between Quran and Javanese culture heritage owned by the author with social culture condition surrounded. Tafsir Al-Huda is a guidebook for experiencing sacred messages of Quran which is filled with moral values of Javanese culture. This research tried to study Javanese ethical values written in Tafsir Al-Huda. Content analysis method with hermeunetic approach is used in this study by interpreting symbols in form of text in order to find its meaning. This research conclude that Tafsir Al-Huda has Javanese cultural perspective, use cultural context, and has acomodating and integrating interconection. Tafsir Al-Huda embody the Javanese philosophy and view of life to make society remember the God and be aware to any behavior and saying (eling lan waspada), tolerate and respect others (tepa selira), and live in harmony with the concept that harmony can create unity, dispute can create separation (rukun agawe santosa lan crah agawe bubrah).

This library research aims to describe al-Baiḍ āwi’s conception of the term i̅ ma̅ n ‘belief’ in his exegesis Anwār at-Tanz̅ il wa Asra̅ r at-Ta’wi̅ l. This article belongs to the philosophical research and factual history model because the object of the research is the philosophical conception of the exegesis. The findings of the research show that i̅ ma̅ n in al-Baiḍ āwi’s opinion is part of heart activities concepted as recognition and credence to the doctrine of prophet MuhammadSawespecially about i̅ ma̅ n ‘belief in’ the occult thing dimly. Although this conception of belief (i̅ ma̅ n) is definitely similar to the language context of the term but it is not totally the same because al-Baiḍ āwi attempted to connect the term beyond in. Therefore, it is the real evidence of al-al-Baiḍ āwi’s inconsistent conception of i̅ ma̅ n because it contradicts with his own prerequisites.

One of the recent worriest phenomenan is the appearance of extreme religious attitudes that potentially drives national dissintegration. The extrimity can be carried out by theological doctrines. Therefore, in order to prevent the expanse of this extrimity, it is important to review theological models which have been understood and practiced by pesantren society. One of the books learnt in pesantren is Umm Barahin which was written by al-Sanusi. The contents of the book, how students respond to the teachings and how the teachers reinterprete the materials are the the main questions raised in this research. This research took place in Salafiyah Syafiiyah Pesantren Situbondo East Java. Through content and intertext analyses, this research finds out that this book consists of 48 aqaid (theological doctrines), not 50 aqaid as it is usually understood by common people or educated ones.

Islam Aboge community face the global challenge that impact on lifestyle changes were more dynamic. Islam Aboge community can be classified in two categories, namely “Islam Nyantri” and “Islam Nyandi”. In the age of globalization, the community has experienced a change or shift in beliefs and ritual system because of several factors: development, education, urbanization, and religious missionary. In keeping its existence, Islam Aboge community has its own adaptation strategies, namely conservative adaptation strategy and resistence adaptaion strategy. Conservative adaptation strategy carried out through kinship system, religious-path system, and goverment guidance. Meanwhile resistence adaptation strategy were only tolerant of whatever is done by the opponents. With this spirit, Islam Aboge community preserve the value of cultural heritage so it can survive along age.

The relation of Moslems and Christians in Indonesia is always interesting to be discussed since it is riddled with dynamics and conflicts. The data are directly obtained from the Muslims (Moslem Boarding Schools) and Christians (East Java Christian Churches) in Malang, East Java, by using in-depth interviews, participatory observation and are supported with bibliographical studies. Data analysis is carried out in the descriptive qualitative method. The theory used in this research is the social network. GKJW (East Java Christian Churches) and Pondok Pesantren (Moslem Boarding Schools) have succeeded in establishing realtions and nertworks resulting in the forces to bridge inter-religions relation in East Java. The fact shows that local resources play major roles in establishing relations that allow inter-religion cooperation to take place. The Moslem-Christian network established by the Pondok Pesantren and the GKJW shows the growing awareness of the importance of establishing relations among Moslems and Christians. SIKI program (Intensive Study of Christians and Moslems) has started and learnt to understand other religions. This social network is a good starting point to solve the problems that had been the burden of inter-religions lives. SIKI has conducted the dialogue of life directly involving Moslems and Christians with the presence, fellowship, and live in activity . This is the importence of why inter-religion and or religion institutions cooperation and network need to be carried out and maintained.

This study aimed to determine the effect of self-efficacy, work environment, and achievement motivation toward performance of head of madrasah. The research was conducted in the Islamic Elementary School (Madrasah Ibtidaiyah) in Bekasi with 45 respondents (headmaster of madrasah). The methode was choosed by using random sampling techniques. The results showed: a) self-efficacy directly influence the work environment, b) selfefficacy directly influence the achievement motivation, c) work environment directly affects achievement motivation, d) self-efficacy directly influence the performance of headmaster of madrasah, e) Work environment influence directly to the performance of headmaster of madrasah, and f) achievement motivation directly affects the performance of headmasters of madrasah
