In this study is presented the biochemical components of algal biomass Nostoc flagelliforme (Berk et Curt) Elenk. cultivated in laboratory conditions in Z-8 medium. The algal biomass has the following chemical content: Mn – 683,9 mg/kg, Zn – 131,5 mg/kg, Pb – <10 mg/kg, Fe – 1,09 g/kg, Na+ - 2,10 g/kg, K+ – 8,01 g/kg, Mg2+ – 5,40 g/kg, Ca2+ – 7,94 g/kg. The highest amount of amino acids are specific for: glutamic acid – 3,8012 mg/100 mg, aspartic acid – 2,7838 mg/100 mg, leucine – 2,4651 mg/100 mg, alanine – 2,3513 mg/100 mg. According to these results the blue-green alga Nostoc flagelliforme can be considered an important potential source of nutritional supplements.
