Online Social Networks (OSNs) are today one of the most popular interactive medium to share, communicate, and distribute a significant amount of human life information. In OSNs, information filtering can also be used for a different, more responsive, function. This is owing to the fact that in OSNs there is the possibility of posting or commenting other posts on particular public/private regions, called in general walls. Information filtering can therefore be used to give users the ability to automatically control the messages written on their own walls, by filtering out unwanted messages. OSNs provide very little support to prevent unwanted messages on user walls. For instance, Facebook permits users to state who is allowed to insert messages in their walls (i.e., friends, defined groups of friends or friends of friends). Though, no content-based partialities are preserved and therefore it is not possible to prevent undesired communications, for instance political or offensive ones, no matter of the user who posts them. To propose and experimentally evaluate an automated system, called Filtered Wall (FW), able to filter unwanted messages from OSN user walls.

Present energy need heavily relies on the conventional sources. But the limited availability and steady increase in the price of conventional sources has shifted the focus toward renewable sources of energy. Among the available alternative sources of energy, wind energy is considered to be one of the proven technologies. With a competitive cost for electricity generation, wind energy conversion system (WECS) is nowadays deployed for meeting both grid-connected and stand-alone load demands. However, wind flow by nature is intermittent. In order to ensure continuous power supply, suitable storage technology is used as backup. A storage system such as a battery bank may be used. In this thesis, the sustainability of a hybrid wind energy and battery system is investigated for meeting the requirements of a stand-alone dc load. A charge controller for battery bank based on turbine maximum power point tracking and battery state of charge is developed to ensure controlled charging and discharging of battery. The mechanical safety of the wind energy conversion system is assured by means of pitch control technique. Both the control schemes are integrated and the efficiency is validated by testing it with various load and wind profiles in numerical computation software SCILAB. The SCILAB model is intended to simulate the behavior of wind turbine using synchronous generators and control the wind electrical energy conversion processes. Rotational speed and torque become the controlled variables in wind energy and mechanical energy conversion process. Control scheme has been developed for switching DC-DC buck type converter. It is possible to predict the behaviour of the system by simulation using SCILAB-XCOS software.

The foremost critical task for coal mine is of keeping track of miners spread out across a large mining areas .It becomes even difficult when mine tunnels collapse. Many mines use a radio system to track miners, but when a collapse occurs, the base stations connected by a thin wire often are rendered useless. In this project to overcome the demerits of radio system we used wireless technology for tracking the miners. The transceivers communicate with base stations through LIFI module. In addition of tracking the location of miners we also include sensors such as temperature & humidity to intimate the base station & miners when some atmosphere changes occur. Mine operators are now able to monitor the real-time locations of each miner to better pinpoint their locations in the event of an emergency.

On cloud servers the data are hosted by the data owners and the data are accessed by the users from the cloud servers in cloud computing. As the data are outsourced, there are new security challenges been introduced by the new data hosting service that requires an independent auditing service in cloud to check the data integrity. There exist few remote integrity methods used for checking which can only serve for static archive data and hence cannot be applied to the auditing service as the data in the cloud can be updated dynamically. Thus, a new dynamic protocol which is secure and efficient is designed in order to make data owners believe that in cloud, the data are stored correctly. In this paper, first design a framework which would audit the data stored on the cloud servers and then a protocol which would be efficient in preserving the private data of the data owners.. The auditing protocol is extended to support the dynamic data operations, which is provable secure and efficient in the random oracle model. Also, the auditing protocol is extended to support batch auditing for multiple owners, without using any trusted organizer. The simulation and analysis results show that the proposed auditing protocols are efficient and secure, especially it reduces the computation cost of the auditor.

Access Control Policies defines the user roles and their access rights to the confidential data. Fine-grained access control on confidential data hosted in the cloud are based on fine-grained encryption of the data in which data owners are in charge of encrypting the data before uploading them to the cloud and re-encrypting the data whenever user credentials change. When data owners perform the re-encryption they incur high communication and computation costs. To reduce the overhead at data owner, delegate the enforcement of access control to cloud, while assuring data confidentiality from the cloud. In order to delegate access control to cloud, an approach of two layers of encryption is proposed, in which the data owner performs a lower level encryption; whereas the cloud performs a higher level encryption. Using Policy Decomposition algorithm, decompose the ACP between the owner and cloud to perform the two layers of encryption. With TLE, the system guarantees the confidentiality of the data from cloud and preserves the privacy of users from the cloud while delegating most of the access control enforcement to the cloud.

Cancer is the very most important cause of death for both Men and Women. The early apprehension and treatment of cancer can be helpful in curing the disease completely. So the obligation of techniques to detect the state of cancer nodule in early stage increasing. A disease that is commonly misdiagnosed is Lung Cancer. Earlier diagnosis of Lung Cancer saves massive lives, flaw which may lead to other harsh problems causing sudden fatal end detection and diagnosis of the disease. Its treat rate and prediction depends mainly on the early detection and diagnosis sudden fatal end. Data mining have found numerous applications in business and methodical domain. Valuable information can be discovered from application of data mining techniques in healthcare system. In this study, we momentarily examine the potential use of classification based data mining techniques in healthcare system. Big data collects the huge amounts of healthcare data set and survey many data mining approaches for predicting the likelihood of patients getting a Lung Cancer disease. Aim of the paper is to suggest a model for early detection and correct diagnosis of the disease using which will help the doctor in saving the life of the patient.

Wireless Sensor Network is used to receive the signal from source nodes and it will be transmitted into destination nodes. In multiple source localization the sensors are capable of obtaining more than one measurement. These measurements are not only generated by the objects but also possibly from the distributed heap. The existing work mostly requires three step algorithm Coarse location estimation, Source measurement association determination, Source location refinement. Its unaware of associations between measured signals and source nodes .These three step algorithm also depended on one another. The proposed Extended Topology Control Algorithm is chosen to reduce the network density and hence simulated. It uses three parameters such as distance, energy, link quality. It is extremely simple and fast. ETC proves correctness of general weighted network graphs. The proposed algorithm does not require availability of node position information.

Text detection in natural scene images is significant for many content based image analysis tasks. In this paper an accurate method is used for detecting texts in natural scene images. An effective pruning algorithm and the Tesseract algorithm is designed to extract Maximally Stable Extreme Regions (MSERs) as character candidates. Character candidates are grouped into text candidates by the single link clustering algorithm. Distance weights and clustering threshold are learned automatically by novel self training distance metric learning algorithm. The text candidates corresponding to non-text are identified by a character classifier. Non-text candidates are eliminated by a text classifier. In our system the documents will be scanned as images and after the scanning process, the data from the image is identified by Tesseract algorithm and the text is extracted automatically. The Text To Speech (TTS) Engine will convert the extracted text to voice. The translation will translate the text into user defined language. The text and the images are stored in a database. The stored images can be retrieved from the database for further use.

Secure user enforced data access control mechanism must be provided before cloud user has the liberty to outsource sensitive data to the cloud for storage. In present many cryptographic algorithms are used for encryption of the data. In this paper, we are going to analyze various schemes for encryption and possible solutions for their limitations that consist of Attribute based encryption(ABE), Key policy Attribute based encryption(KP-ABE), Cipher text Attribute based encryption(CP-ABE), non-monotonic access structure, Hierarchical Attribute based encryption(HABE), Multiple authority Attribute based encryption(MA-ABE).

Towards these security challenges a reliable propose and implementation on Open Stack Swift, a new client-side de duplication scheme for securely storing and sharing outsourced data via the public cloud. Security issues, requirements and challenges that cloud service providers (CSP) face during cloud engineering. Mainly this proposal has twofold. First, it ensures better confidentiality towards unauthorized users. Second, by integrating access rights in meta data file. That is, every client computes as per data key to encrypt the data that he intends to store in the cloud.

In today’s scenario, the Cloud environments are mainly used for storage and processing of data. It is a flexible, powerful and cost-effective framework in providing real-time data to users at any time with vast coverage and quality. Wireless Sensor Network is an very important technology in which sensors are placed in a distributed manner to monitor the physical and environment changes such as temperature, pressure etc. Combining these two technologies deals with the easy management of remotely connected sensor nodes and the data generated by these sensor nodes. By connecting, evaluating and linking these sensor networks, several data conclusions can be made from the real time data .The integration of Wireless Sensor Network and Cloud computing is used to continuously monitor the temperature of an environment and simultaneously store this data in cloud. The sensor is set to send a Push notification to the client regardless of his location in case of any changes in that environment and thereby intimating him about the necessary actions to be taken.

The JPEG compression method is an efficient compression scheme used for image compression with good compression ratio. However, the decompressed image contains some artifacts, such as quantization artifact, blocking artifact, Gibbs artifact, etc. The presence of noise in the compressed image also affects the quality of the reconstructed image. JPEG compression provides efficient compression with good compression ratio. In this paper, proposed a combination of two artifacts reducing techniques for reducing artifacts in JPEG decompressed images. The first is a Dic. TV method, which involves the sparse representation of the compressed image over a learned dictionary and a total variation regularization for restoring the original image. The second is an anti-forensic operation for removing the quantization artifact.

Vehicular Ad Hoc Network (VANET) is a specification of mobile ad hoc networks. VANET provides wireless communication among vehicles and vehicle to road side equipments. The performance of communication depends on how better the routing takes place in the network. Routing of data depends on the routing protocols being used in network. In this study we investigated about different ad hoc routing protocols for VANET. The main aim of our study was to identify which ad hoc routing method has better performance in highly mobile environment of VANET. To measure the performance of routing protocols in VANET, we considered two different scenarios i.e. city and highway. Routing protocols were selected carefully after carrying out literature review. The selected protocols were then evaluated through simulation in terms of performance metrics i.e. throughput and packet drop.After simulation results, we used MATLAB to plot the graph to compare the results of selected routing protocols with each other. Moreover, we computed the sum of output from each scenario to clearly present the difference in results. From results, we observe that A-STAR shows better performance in form of high throughput and low packet drop as compare to AODV and GPSR in city environment, while GPSR shows better performance as compare to AODV in both highway and city environment of VANET. Based on the results of performance metrics in different environments of VANET, we realized that position based routing method of VANET outperformed the traditional ad hoc topology based routing.However, it is hard to provide any universal routing protocol that can deal with all the various environments of VANET. The selection of a single routing protocol is hard in VANET because the protocol performance depends on vehicle speed,driving environment etc. That may vary from one environment of network to another.

This paper proposes a fast and better method for haze removal.Images of outdoor scenes often contain degradation due to haze, resulting in contrast reduction and color fading. For many reasons one may need to remove these effects. Unfortunately, haze removal is a difficult problem due the inherent ambiguity between the haze and the underlying scene. Haze removal techniques have in recent times shown a great role in a variety of vision applications. A single image haze removal scheme based on dark channel prior (DCP) is getting popular because of its satisfactory performance for most of cases. However, the DCP scheme has time consuming problem due to soft matting. In this paper, the objective of proposed dehazing methode is to decrease the calculation time and quality of the image simultaneously by using fast matting method using large kernel matting laplacian matrices instead of time consuming soft matting.

Fault tolerance plays a vital role in ensuring high serviceability and reliability in cloud. A lot of research is currently under way to analyze how cloud can provide fault tolerance for an application. The work proposes a reactive fault tolerant technique that uses check pointing to tolerate the fault. The work proposes a VM- μ Checkpoint framework to protect both VMs and applications in the VMs against transient errors. The VM-μCheckpoint mechanism is implemented using CoW-PC (Copy on Write – Presave in cache) algorithm. The CoW-PC algorithm presaves all the tasks running on the VM’s in a cache memory. When there is any transient failure happening in VMs, it is noted and it is recovered using last presaved checkpoint from the cache memory. Once the tasks are executed successfully, the presaved checkpoints are deleted automatically from the cache memory. Thus the algorithm uses in place and in memory recovery of checkpoints that reduces the checkpoint overhead and improves the performance.

Active worms pose major security threats to the Internet. This is due to the ability of active worms to propagate in an automated fashion as they continuously compromise computers on the Internet. Here we analyze hidden type active worms, referred to as Camouflaging Worm. This Worm is different from basic worms because of its ability to intelligent manipulate its scan traffic volume over time. This worm Camouflages its propagation from existing worm detection systems based on analyzing the propagation traffic generated by worms. We analyze characteristics of the Camouflages worm and conduct a comprehensive comparison between its traffic and non-worm traffic (background traffic).Using a comprehensive set of detection metrics and real-world traces as background traffic, we conduct extensive performance evaluations on our proposed spectrum-based detection scheme.

Common man is always unaware of the consequences of the drugs they consume in their day to day life. They only consume the medicines in prescribed doses as prescribed by the physician without knowing the purpose of the drug. This project helps in overcoming the difficulty mentioned above. This project is a MOBILE APPLICATION that describes a medicine and its specifications including a drug’s purpose, composition and prescribed doses along with an image. It also locates the local pharmacies and hospitals with respect to the user’s location. This application has a special feature of scanning the Quick Response Codes on the strips of medicines which displays the details embedded onto the code. Another feature of Handwriting recognition is added to the application which helps to recognize the handwriting on the prescription of the doctors so that the user himself can surf the details of the medicine from the app.
