Shape Memory Polymer (SMP) is a class of smart materials with unique capability of remembering its shape. It can be restored from a temporary fixed shape to permanent shape upon exposure to an external stimulus like heat, light, magnetic field, moisture etc. As opposed to its widespread use in many engineering applications, low stiffness and strength has restricted its excessive usage in structural engineering field. This research focuses on manufacturing and characterizing SMP and its carbon fiber reinforced composite (SMPC). The material is thermo-mechanically characterized for its transition temperature (Tg) using Dynamic Mechanical Analysis (DMA). Fold-deploy tests are conducted to determine shape fixity and shape recovery ratios. Additionally, the effect of temperature increase in recovery ratio is also investigated. Mechanical characterization is done via static uniaxial tensile tests. A substantial increase (100%) is observed in stiffness of SMPC compared to SMP. The samples are analysed for the effect of increasing shape memory cycles, which show that the major decline in stiffness essentially occurs after the first cycle. Similarly, on studying the effect of degree of deformation, the major decline in stiffness or increase in strength is found to occur after an angle of deformation of 45˚.

This paper proposes a scheme for noise reduction in low illumination images. There are various methods already in existence for noise reduction but hybrid models have given better results many times. The proposed scheme is based on a Hybrid Neuro-Fuzzy Model. This model may be termed as Fuzzy Convolutional Neural Network. While detecting and recognizing texts present in the scene images, there is an issue of noise. This noise may be present due to low intensity of light. Since the proposed model will be an integration of Neural Network and Fuzzy Logic, hence it will have the capability to learn and to handle uncertainties present in the noise affected image. This model will reduce the noise present in the image and will present a better recognition of texts in scene images.

In this study, the heat of hydration and the strength relation of blended cement has been experimentally investigated. The blended cement mixture was prepared using one type of clinker and two types of pozzolans in different amounts, such as 10, 20 and 30 %, by weight of clinker, along with the controls. Two types of grinding, two types of fineness, and three different ratios of additives were used. Cement paste and mortars were prepared, and their compressive strength was also determined. The results indicate that the studied pumice and slag can reduce the heat of hydration. Compared to the heat of hydration of separated grinded system, the heat of hydration of blended cements are higher than the heat of hydration of separated cements when the fineness and the ratio of additives are held constant.

A Mobile Ad-hoc Network (MANET) is an autonomous network of mobile routers and connected hosts joined by wireless connectors. The combination of which outline a random topology. The mobile routers or hosts are liberated to move indiscriminately and organize themselves randomly. Thus, the network's wireless topology may vary quickly and randomly. In mobile ad-hoc network one major issue in communication is that identifying optimal reliable routing path for effective communication between two mobile stations. Even though many routing algorithms are existed to rectify this issue, they are all bounded by static mechanism, time complexity and lack of reliability in predicting routing path. So this paper focuses on novel approach which is proposed based on fuzzy sets, rough set and classification theory simulation. This paper presents the routing technique that can be engaged to produce straightforward rules and to take away irrelevant features in order.

This paper elaborates the high speed 8x8x8 3D-DCT/IDCT processor based on CORDIC algorithm for various DSP applications such as image and video processing coding with reduced size and cost of hardware. In this paper, CORDIC based 3D DCT/IDCT i.e. both forward and inverse computations required for transform has been presented. By using this algorithm image and video can be processed through the DCT/IDCT for the compres-sion/decompression data. The number of CORDIC Computational requirement for N=8, N=16 3D DCT/IDCT for 8*8*8 is (N3+16)/12 has been compared with 2D-DCT algorithm. Based on this algorithm a new processor 3D-DCT/IDCT architecture is designed and simulated in Xilinx ISE 14.7 and FPGA implementation has been done in Altera Quartus cyclone II (DE2 board).
