In the present work, the ion transport property of Polyvinyl Formal (PVF)-based nanocomposite polymer electro-lytes has been investigated upon dispersal of Multiferroic (BFO) nanosized filler particles. With the aim to devel-oped the lithium ion (Li+) conducting nanocomposite polymer electrolytes (NCPEs) Lithium Acetate has been cho-sen as doping salt. NCPE films were prepared by solution cast technique while Multiferroic nano powder was syn-thesized through sol-gel process. The formation of nanocomposite has been ascertained by XRD pattern. Variations of dielectric constant, dielectric loss, tangent loss and modulus spectra with frequency and temperature were studied with the aid of impedance spectroscopy data. XRD result shows that the doping of salt increases amorphousness through polymer salt complexation. The changes in surface morphology have been investigated in optical and SEM images observation. CV measurement of NCPEs suggests a broad electrochemical window utility in practical electrochemical devices.

Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is a gifted scheme to accomplish high data transmission for high speed communication systems. Consequently, it is treated as a strong candidate for forthcoming wireless applications. Nevertheless, the foremost drawback of OFDM signal is high Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR), which degrades the performance of the primary resources of the communication system. Selective Mapping (SLM) technique is the most familiar to condense the PAPR. However, conventional SLM technique requires many Inverse Fast Fourier Transforms (IFFTs), which surges the computational complexity. Moreover, conventional SLM requires side information, which raises the transmitting power as well as error rate. In this paper, we proposed a novel SLM scheme using exhaustive search method to enhance the PAPR reduction performance, which requires only one IFFT and no side information. In our work (8, 4) extended Hamming code is employed as single error correcting code. The PAPR performance of the exhaustive search SLM and conventional SLM is compared for all possible combination of (8, 4) extended Hamming codes. Numerical results confirmation that the PAPR reduction performance of exhaustive search SLM is superior to that of the conventional SLM.

Automated age estimation is an important processing task that serves many purposes such as surveillance monitor-ing, marketing of products, authentication systems, find out the fugitive or missing person and security control etc. Therefore, estimating age from still face images by using facial features is trending research topic from past few years. An automated age group prediction system using geometric features of facial images and neural network is proposed in this paper. Three age groups including child, young, and old, are considered in the classification sys-tem. The prediction process is divided into three phases: image accumulation from different real-life photo or web-site, geometric feature extraction using image processing technique, and age classification using Neural Network. Using this process, we can predict the age group of a face of a person with satisfactory accuracy.

Marker making is one of the crucial activities in cutting room. An efficient marker minimizes the fabric wastages during cutting. A good marker is indicated by its efficiency. The increasing in marker efficiency means the more fabric utilization because fabrics are cut following the guidelines of marker. In this study, 06 (six) markers (both manual and computerized) were produced for 06 (six) size ratios individually with constant marker width. Again another 03 (three) markers (both manual and computerized) were made for three different marker widths with con-stant size ratio. Then a comparison was prepared for both manual and computerized markers based on marker effi-ciency. It was found that there have significant changes in marker efficiency due to changes in size ratio and marker width.

The price volatilities of liquid hydrocarbon fuels in the international crude oil market, the consequent hike in energy cost, and environmental challenges resulting from the indiscriminate disposal of waste crankcase oils has necessitated the quest for alternative low cost energy option in Nigeria. This has prompted deliberate research efforts to recover energy from waste oils for the purpose of industrial heating. In this paper, waste oils drained from spark ignition engine sump, were collected and pre-treated to rid the oil samples of particulate matter, ferromagnetic materials and water. The oil was prepared and separated into two batches, one was blended with diesel and the other one with kerosene at the following blending ratios; B0 (unblended pre-treated oil samples), B10 (90% pre-treated oil samples, and 10% fuel blend), B20, B30, B40 and B50 (v/v %) respectively. The densities, and viscosities of each blend were determined in accordance to ASTM test protocols, and spot tests were also carried out to ascertain the homogeneity of all blended oil samples. Each oil sample was combusted in an atomising swirl oil burner, and their flame temperatures were recorded using a Type-K thermocouple, the flame length and flame widths were measured from a calibrated horizontal/vertical linear scale, and their photographic images were captured with a direct still digital camera. It was observed that the densities and viscosities of both diesel and kerosene blended fuels decrease somewhat as the blending ratio increases, and B30 diesel fuel blended sample generated the highest flame temperature (1396℃), longest flame (360mm) and widest flame (115mm). While, B30 kerosene blended fuel samples recorded the highest flame temperature (1350℃), and the longest flame (380mm) and widest flame (110mm).Even though all categories of blended fuel samples analysed demonstrated good combustibility in terms of their flame and thermal performance, diesel fuel blended oil samples were more homogenous than kerosene blended fuels samples, and the energy cost analysis tend to favour kerosene blended fuel samples over its diesel fuel blended counterpart.
