The article presents the results of an interdisciplinary and integrative study of creativity and creative activity in high-school students. The authors attempted to describe the abovementioned phenomenon considering the influence of a traditional large Kalmyk family, ethnical-cultural identification, self-actualization, role and functions of social environment, including the type of educational institution and extracurricular education. The study employed an innovative psychological diagnostic system that included authors’ original developments. The obtained results can be extrapolated not only to the studied region (Republic of Kalmykia) but also to other territories with multiethnical and ethnical-cultural population. The study allows expanding the scientific knowledge about creative skills in the youth, their psychological diagnostics and stimulation of their development.

The article presents the results of a comparative analysis of the composition of academic rights of students in Russia, the United States and the European Union countries, their legislative regulation and practice of implementation in universities. The following conclusions were made: (1) the wording of the rights, their thematic groups in Russia and abroad have significant differences, despite the fact that upon the entry into the Bologna process, the relevant changes were made to the Federal law and by-laws of RF; (2) there have not been created conditions in the higher education system of Russia for the implementation of students’ academic rights in accordance with the principles and objectives of the Bologna process, in particular, the right to design and implement an individual learning trajectory, students’ participation in creating of the content of education, usage of ECTS to transfer from one university to another, implementation of “short bachelor programs”, recognition of the previous non-formal and informal level of education, involvement of students in the process of assessment of the quality of education at all stages, priority of the results of international accreditation of educational programs when making government decisions towards a university, etc.; (3) in the Russian educational system, many universities, despite the possibility established by the Federal Law, do not provide students with additional academic rights, while outside Russia it widespread to give students so-called “contract” rights, which are granted to a student in accordance with an educational contract and university code (eg Student Rights, Responsibilities and Code ...); (4) compared to foreign students, Russian students are less active in exercising and defending their academic rights. To improve the current situation, it is proposed to make changes to the current legislation of the Russian Federation regarding clarification, additions and expansion of the legal status of participants in the educational process, to deliver responsibilities through creation and compliance with regulatory, economic and organizational conditions and mechanisms for the implementation of academic rights of students in universities, to enter into academic regulations and regulatory documents of universities additional academic rights similar to those in the United States and the countries of the European Union; to bring into this process associations of higher educational institutions of the Russian Federation, including student associations to monitor, implement and lobby the students’ academic rights; to encourage students to be active in exercising their academic rights during their study at the university.

The article gives the description of the notion “formation of teachers’ foreign language communicative competence in the system of the advanced training”. This competence is formed in the close connection with professionally oriented subjects in the process of the educational, scientific and practical activities in the field of foreign language education. Communicative competence is an integrative personal characteristic, which reflects peculiarities of teachers’ professional activity aimed at solving professional problems and promoting successful realization of communication with colleagues, foreign partners by using professional knowledge. The research represents a new model of communicative competence formation in the process of the professional development of teachers in the system of the advanced training which presupposes the involvement of teachers in polycultural interaction in the process of solving professional tasks. Background. The World Health Organization recommends that children should participate in sufficient PA by engaging in moderate-to-vigorous physical activity for at least 60 min daily per week. Schools are important settings for the promotion of children's physical activity. Through commuting, break times, and physical education lessons they provide regular opportunities for children to be active Methods. The experimental group included 26 girls and 24 boys aged 6–7 years old, and the control group included adolescent girls (n=25) and boys (n=23). Comparing the results of boys’ and girls’ flexibility, there were no statistically significant differences (p> .05): the girls’ flexibility was about 0.06 cm, for boys -1.8 cm. The post-test of the experimental group boys (1261.93 MET, min/week) was to analyze average physical activity in comparison with the girls of the experimental group (737.48 MET, min/week). Statistically significant difference was found during the analysis of average MET per boy (1390.45 MET, min/week) in comparison with the girls (880.27 MET, min/week, p<0.05). Conclusion. Established that the properly construed and purposefully applied complex of the 8-month exercise intervention programme for first grade students caused the statistically significant changes in the dependent variables: increased physical activity and physical fitness for experimental group.

The purpose of the study is to determine a latent structure of variables that explain the level of anxiety towards mathematics of high school students based on the interaction that the student has with the tasks, courses and math exams. For this purpose, the RMARS mathematical anxiety scale was used, which has a Likert-type scaling. The instrument was applied to a sample of 183 enrolled students from a private institution of upper secondary education located in Veracruz, Mexico and to obtain results, a factorial analysis was applied. The most significant finding is the obtained tetra-dimensional model, which contrasts with other models such as those of Alexander and Martray (1989) and recently with the penta-dimensional model of (Author 1 2017). This result suggests that the original design of the three-factor scale of Richardson and Suinn (1972), modified by Alexander and Martray (1989), does not apply to students in Latin contexts, such as the case of Mexico.

A physical process analogy of the learning process was studied using a hydraulic method. Detailed educational guidance describing applied pedagogical concepts for technical instructors of the civil, mechanical, chemical and materials engineering disciplines was formulated. A unified engineering-friendly formulation of learning processes using a direct analogy of civil, mechanical, chemical and materials engineering physical processes was developed. Generalized expressions were proposed for an approximate description of learning processes in the educational curriculum in the form of hydraulic processes in civil, mechanical, chemical and materials engineering practice. It was shown that it is possible to intensify students’ attention to the studied technical material through a step-by-step building of a proposed analogy between hydraulic and learning processes, which is based on the similarity between corresponding mathematical models for both processes. Hard-working students have the prime educational problem of managing the growing overload andholding in their memory a cumbersome quantity of studied material in technical, social and human sciences. The author-proposed educational approach provides a better simultaneous understanding of both hydraulics and didactics by acquiring new inter-disciplinary practical knowledge, which helps learners plan an optimal scientific-based modefor effective study and self-study of educational material. This educational research helps students to remember that it is impossible to learn the studied material at the required level of understanding with a single one-time acquaintance without multiple reviews and repetitions.

The article attempts to analyze critically the role of the modern school in the development of human potential. Based on the conducted research procedures (the focus group study of the parent community, the questionnaire survey N = 90), they determined the domination of parental position, according to which there is the lack of equal opportunity provision by the state for quality education. The commercialization of the educational industry, the increase of the informal sector of the economy at the market of educational services ensure the reproduction of social inequality, limit the access to quality education for students, primarily from low-resourced families. The results of the study illustrate the growing dissatisfaction of parents with the ability of the school to develop a sufficient cultural level of students, to build the system of spiritual needs, values and interests of young people. The system of school education develops the contradiction between the expectations of parents to intelligence, social and communicative skills, the moral qualities of students and actual learning outcomes. Professional burnout, the deformation of modern teacher social role significantly reduces the effectiveness of the educational impact on the younger generation. The modern school is not fully capable of sustainable human development provision due to the following dysfunctions: an insufficient legitimacy of disciplinary impact on student behavior, high pedagogical workload, conflict risks, the distortion of teacher traditional role. The promising trend for the development of human potential in modern Russian conditions is to increase the prestige of teacher profession, overcome the key deformations of its position, form creative spaces in the school environment, expand the diversity of educational programs, and focus on “gifted” children support.

The significance of the innovative development of the modern society of the Republic of Kazakhstan (RK) has actualized the need for creative individuals, who determine progress in various spheres of social life. In this regard, the fundamental goal of the modern higher pedagogical school was the development of creative personalities capable of self-actualizing their skills for the benefit of the society. The purpose of the article is the development of conceptual recommendations on the formation and development of creative competence of future teachers as a potential human factor in shaping the value system of the future generation. The criteria for assessing the levels of the formation of creative competence in future teachers in the context of its structural components have been developed. Interviewing helped to analyze the qualitative levels of the formation of creative competence of students of pedagogical universities in Kazakhstan. The article substantiates the main destructive factors of development of students' creativity in the system of higher pedagogical education in modern conditions. The authors developed the structural and logical model for the development of the creativity of future teachers based on the principle of problem education. The authors also developed a diagnostic approach to assessing the effectiveness of the practical implementation of the pedagogical conditions of the creativity model in the educational process of future teachers in higher educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The article proves the complex of the actions promoting the evolution of creative competence of students of a pedagogical specialty.

This article examines the comprehensive and participatory component of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s (SCO) approach to the fight against the “Three Evil Forces” within the theoretical framework of smart counterterrorism. After analyzing the problematic definitions of the concepts of terrorism and extremism, the authors choose to focus on the non-coercive preventive pillar of the SCO’s counterterrorism strategy through the prism of youth education. The emphasis is placed on the strikingly similar practices of SCO Member States in this field, whereby state and non-state actors foster partnerships to conduct cultural activities promoting the same values of patriotism, civic identity, interethnic and interfaith dialogue as a counter-ideology to the dissemination of radical ideas among the youth. The experience of SCO Member States in implementing inclusive counterterrorism programs serves as a basis for the evolution of SCO’s soft diplomacy, which has very recently entered a new phase in its development, following the first SCO Youth Assembly and Uzbekistan’s decision to support the SCO Youth Council. In this paper, the youth is analyzed as the primary target and actor of the SCO’s preventive counterterrorism efforts.

The article substantiates the synergistic concept of complex linguistic and rhetorical (L&R) training necessary for the high-quality professional training of a future specialist of any direction and profile of higher school education; the specification is made on the example of a teacher of a foreign language (foreign languages). The restructuring of the educational process in the framework of the bi/polylinguistic learning model developed by representatives of the Sochi L&R School is based on the positions set out in the article.For the development of a professional bi/polylinguistic personality of a future specialist, more effective than the specialized formation of the L&R competence only in the field of foreign languages is the purposeful and coordinated work of the entire teaching staff in the framework of “the single linguistic-rhetorical and cultural-speech regime” according to the formation of Russian and foreign language L&R competencies of learners.The speech-thinking culture of future specialists, integrating in a bi/polylinguistic relation, including an invariant core and ethno-linguistic-rhetorical variants, is a qualitatively new psycholinguistic formation, which is formed on the basis of the interaction of the substructures of the primary and secondary linguistic personality.A necessary condition for the formation of speech-thinking culture of future specialists is the formation of students' readiness for professional self-designing as a future specialist on the basis of a bi/polylinguistic L&R competence of mixed type.

The article is devoted to the attempts of Rusyns-Ukrainians living in the Galician lands of the Austro-Hungarian Empire to obtain the right to open their own university in Lviv. The main sources for this article were materials of historical, ethnographic and literary journal “Kiyevskaya starina”. The idea of establishing a Rusyn university in Lviv appeared in the middle of the ХІХ century. The authors focused on the events that unfolded around this project at the end of the XIX and the beginning of the XX centuries. Rusyns-Ukrainians were unable to defend their idea of establishing a university. The main reasons for the failure were the complex social and political situation in the multinational Austro-Hungarian Empire and the oppression of the Ruthenians by the representatives of the Polish nationals in Galicia.

The article describes the secondary education system in Serbia from 1808 to the 1870s. It focuses on the secondary education development, and the difficulties that were arising during the organization of the educational process. Scientific and reference literature on the research topic were used as materials. The methodology used a set of scientific methods: multi-factor and integration methods, periodization, typology, comparison, etc., which in unity, ensure the reliability of the results on the studied problem. This is interdisciplinary research, based on the comparativist principle, which allows various informative sources to be revealed. Ultimately, application of these methods made it possible to create a coherent picture of the secondary education in Serbia. In the conclusion the authors note that by the 1870s an extensive network of secondary schools were developed in Serbia. These schools were represented by the Lyceum (the Great School), gymnasiums, semi-gymnasiums, non-classical secondary schools, and an all-girls school. These educational institutions were focused on training professionals for the public service, including teachers. Thanks to the work of the secondary schools in Serbia it became possible to dramatically increase the number of people with secondary and secondary professional education. This ultimately allowed for the opening of the first higher educational institution in the beginning of the 20th century, the University of Belgrade.

Having analyzed over a thousand of audiovisual media texts, the authors of the article conclude that in the Soviet, Russian and Western cinema stereotypes of teenagers as positive characters can be divided into the following main groups: 1) positive leaders (high achievers); 2) "nerds" (overly diligent students), 3) average performers. Naturally, the Soviet cinematography had to be more or less ideologically filled with communist values, while in the West and in modern Russian cinema, individual, family and / or group values come to the fore. Stereotypes of teenagers as villains/ evil characters can be, in the opinion of the authors, represented by the following groups: 1) offenders and criminals; 2) narrow-minded/struggling students; 3) "silver spoons" (representatives of the rich "golden youth"). There are nuances, too. For example, in the Soviet cinema heirs of wealthy families were replaced by handsome egoists from the intellectual background, and there were far fewer juvenile offenders than in the American and European media texts. The Soviet cinema (with the exception of a few perestroika pictures) did not emphasize schoolchildren’s sexuality. In general, the analysis of stereotypes of teenage images in audiovisual media texts on the theme of the school and university shows that, despite the national, sociocultural and ideological differences, the stereotypes of these images have more similarities than differences.

The article describes the scientific and educational space of the Arctic zone of Russia. Specific examples show that in the subjects of the Russian Federation, science and education are unevenly developed. Formation of the scientific and educational space in the Russian Arctic continues. The analysis of this process is of great scientific and practical interest.The meaning of the study is to draw the attention of research organizations and industrial enterprises located both in the Russian Arctic and outside it to the possibility of common use of human, organizational and technical resources within clusters and other forms of interaction. The results of this study may be used by scientific and educational organizations, enterprises of the real sector of the economy, federal and regional executive authorities of the Arctic for the management solutions of the scientific and educational process, training personnel for the real sector of the economy, monitoring the current and prospective staffing needs of the Russian Arctic territories.

The article presents studies that contribute to the ongoing discussion on the higher education reform in Russia in accordance with the Bologna Process. Currently, many higher education institutions of the country have implemented a two-tier system of education, where the first-tier of higher education is bachelor's degree program with the average period of study equal to 4 years, the second-tier of higher education is master's degree program designed for training for 2 years. The specialist degree program remained only in the technical universities. Recently, bachelors make up the main percentage of university graduates. Not many young people enter the master's degree program, mostly those students who plan to devote their future activities to science. The number of studies, currently available in literature, confirming the effectiveness of the transition of higher education to training students under the bachelor's degree program, as well as the demand for these graduates on the labor market, is not high. Are employers ready to employ graduates with bachelor's degree? In this article, firstly, the attitude of employers to the transition to the two-tier system of higher education was studied. Secondly, the employers' loyalty level to a potential employee with a bachelor's degree was determined. Third, the analysis was carried out to reveal the employment of graduates from higher educational institutions with bachelor’s, specialist, and master’s degrees. Also, the article presents the dynamics in the number of students with the bachelor’s, specialist, and master's degree graduated over the recent five years. Limitations of career growth of graduates with the bachelor’s degree were analyzed, and the opportunities to overcome their employment problem were suggested. In consequence of the conducted study of the transition of Russian higher education to a two-tier education system, recommendations are formulated to promote the recognition of the bachelor's degree program graduates in the labor market. The outcomes of the study gain the knowledge about the higher education reform in the Russian Federation, which is conducted in accordance with the Bologna Process, as well as give an idea of the employers’ attitude towards graduates of the bachelor’s degree program.

This study aimed to analyzing the relationship between student teachers teaching and learning conceptions and epistemological beliefs. The study sample is composed of 250 undergraduate student teachers attending the faculty of Educational Science. The Conceptions of Teaching and Learning Questionnaire (CTLQ) and Epistemological Beliefs Scale (EBS) were the sources of data collection. The study results showed significant gender-based differences in teaching and learning conceptions based on student teachers' gender. A significant relationship was also found between student teachers' teaching and learning conceptions and their epistemological beliefs.

In this research, it was aimed to examine the organizational silence levels of primary and secondary school teachers according to some demographic variables. A total of 609 teachers, 309 women and 300 men, who were teaching at primary and secondary schools participated in the research. The Organizational Silence Scale developed by Van Dyne et al. (2003) and adapted to Turkish by Erdoğan (2011) was used in determining the level of organizational silence that teachers had. SPSS 22.0 data analysis program was used for statistical analysis of the data obtained in the research. Descriptive statistics were used to calculate teachers' demographics and the scores they gained from the scale. MANOVA analysis, which is a parametric analysis method, was used to compare the scale scores according to the demographic characteristics of the teachers. The level of significance in the MANOVA analyzes was determined as p <0.05. At the end of the research, it was determined that the organizational silence levels of the teachers were "moderate". When analyzed according to demographic variables, it was determined that organizational silence levels of teachers did not show statistically significant differences according to school type, education status, settlement type, duty type (teacher/manager status) and branch variables (p >0.05). On the other hand, it was determined that organizational silence levels of the teachers showed statistically significant differences according to gender, marital status, age group and occupational seniority variables (p <0.05). As a result, it was found that the demographic characteristics partially affected the teachers' perceptions of organizational silence, and the findings were in accordance with the literature.

Future Informatics teachers need to have skills and abilities to continuously improve their knowledge in the field of both modern Information Technologies and modern methods of teaching Informatics. Thus, the high level of cognitive independence gives students real opportunities to integrate into the world information space, operating information resources presented in various forms. A new learning technology based on subject- and problem-oriented computer training programs and, in particular, multimedia programs is one of the ways to train highly qualified specialists. The programs help to improve the efficiency of learning technology, to intensify educational process, to improve the quality of training. At the same time, it is the role of an Informatics teacher that is significantly increasing. However, modern courses of Informatics do not adequately reflect the issues related to the theoretical and practical aspects of multimedia technology. The article explores the history of the highland schools (Gorskaya shkola) in the Caucasus that covers the period from the 1850s to the 1860s. Established in 1859 and originally planned to function as a pilot project for four years, they proved to be effective, so the experiment continued. This paper also examines the legal status of highland schools. The desk research was focused on facts derived from official archives of the Ministry of Education published in the ‘Journal of Ministry of Education’. Such sources included legal documents, extracts from reports of the Minister of Education and the Trustee of the Caucasus Education District, as well as local findings on operation of the then established schools. The research methodology is based on principles of historicism, objectivity and systematism that are commonly used in historiography. The study involved the problem-based chronological method to scrutinize certain facts in the history of highland schools’ development in the Caucasus, and disclose the highlanders’ interest in such institutions which prompted further establishment of other highland schools in the region. In conclusion, it is important to state that the network of highland schools in the Caucasus allowed not only to satisfy educational needs of children residing in the highland communities, but also to co-educate them with children of the Russian Empire commissioners. Graduates of such schools maintained a wider range of social relationships (through religion, consecrated friendship, comradeship) that helped them to adapt easier to the rapidly changing world and to the rapidly changing situation in the Caucasus.

The article examines the history of the system of primary education in Serbia from the time of the organization of public schools in 1832 to the introduction of general primary education in 1882. The dynamic of the opening of schools and the number of students in schools is presented in the study. Scientific and reference literature on the research topic was used as materials. The methodology used a set of scientific methods: multi-factor and integration methods, periodization, typology, comparison, etc., which in unity ensure the reliability of the results on the studied problem. This is an interdisciplinary research, based on the comparativistic principle, which allows revealing various informative sources. In conclusion, the authors note that during the period of 1832 – late 1890’s the primary school in Serbia experienced a period of its dynamic development, from its formation till the introduction of general primary education.This period was a difficult one, as it was necessary to overcome not only the complexity of the financing of primary education, but also a part of Serbia often became a place for political and military conflicts. Along with these reasons were purely domestic ones – the unwillingness of parents to send their children to school. The work of the Serbian Ministry of Public Education was focused on these difficulties, and the majority of this work was completed by the end of the 19th century.

The aim of this research was to examine how university type, nationality, GPA, gender and grade level affect the cross-cultural sensitivity of students at tertiary level of education in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The revised and updated Inventory of Cross-Cultural Sensitivity (ICCSv2) was utilized for data collection. It contains four subscales: cultural inclusion, cultural behavioral integration, cultural anxiety, and cognitive flexibility. The representative sample consists of 219 students. The results have shown that university type, GPA and nationality have a significant effect on the development of cross-cultural sensitivity, while gender and students’ grade level do not appear to have a significant impact on cross-cultural sensitivity. The results suggest that university along with its peculiar properties has a significant influence on shaping students’ cross-cultural development. The major implication of the study is that some aspects of cross-cultural sensitivity can be developed further in the university milieu and through curriculum adjustment.

This paper introduces the teaching model for specialized translation introduced at Matej Bel University. On one hand, the model is based on the tradition of translation studies in Slovakia and former Czechoslovakia, but on the other hand it takes into consideration the skills needed for the translation of specialized texts in contemporary working environments. These skills are based on the competences proposed by the EMT network as well as on the latest Slovak research on the domestic translation market. In 2012 the Translation and Interpreting Centre (TaIC) was established with the aim of enhancing the training of future translators and interpreters. Through supervised practice, the TaIC provides students with the opportunity to experience real working conditions in the field of translation and interpreting, as well as providing teachers with the opportunity to assess their students’ performance. A survey conducted among students and graduates who participated in the TaIC is analysed in the last part of this paper. The paper describes the proposed model, its advantages and disadvantages and its contribution to the translator and interpreter training programme at Matej Bel University.

The article deals with the experience of establishing of the students’ humanitarian science club and its’ activity in a classic university. The authors pay attention to regulations, structure, duties, daily activities, as well as the publications of the scientific club. The authors come to the conclusion that a quite large variety of methodological practices and approaches in the organization of students’ science activities, aiming at improving the quality of students’ scientific researches can be applied. The algorithm of organization and activity of the student scientific club proposed in the article demonstrated effectiveness and, in the opinion of the authors, can be used in organizing students’ science research in other higher educational institutions.

The aim of this paper is to measure the anxiety toward mathematics of undergraduate medical students in a public university. In order to get the data were surveyed 208 students enrolled when the test was applied. The questionnaire used was the scale of Mato and Muñoz-Vázquez (2007). The statistical procedure was exploratory factorial analysis (EFA) with extraction method: Principal Component Analysis (PCA), Rotation Method: Varimax with Kaiser Normalization (KMO, Bartlett test of Sphericity, MSA, X2 with df, α = <0.05). The result suggests that the factor ANXTMSDL (0.933) is the largest factor load, which suggests that the profile of the medical student, generates greater anxiety when faced with operations in daily life and the factor (ANXTT 0.626) is the factor that has a lower factor load, which leads us to think that anxiety towards the temporality of assessments or exams is not present, perhaps because, in the curriculum of the majoring the topics of mathematics are not integrated.

The article outlines the main approaches (person-centered, systemic, competency-based and integrative) in vocational education and training of engineering personnel for high-tech industries based on the analysis of academic research and practical experience. Vocational training of engineering personnel for high-tech businesses should be conducted in accordance with the professional requirements, while keeping professional standards, competencies, skills and qualifications in sharp focus to ensure successful and efficient job performance. The conducted research showed that the level of professional competence of engineering students is insufficient. The important personal attributes of an engineer are as follows: ability to work in a team, work initiative, competence, ability to learn fast, responsibility, good communication skills, stress resistance, leadership qualities, commitment to professional development. The vocational training of engineers in the academic setting should be a system of organizational and teaching activities that should enable the graduates to be professionally ready for their future job.

Some basic financial topics such as savings and investment are important and required for a financially educated society. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to identify some characteristics that explain the savings habit of college students, as well as finding if this habit differs in relation to gender. For that purpose 60 students from the Universidad Popular Autónoma of Veracruz were surveyed and for data analysis, the statistical techniques used were Z scores to test population proportion and ANOVA to determine if there are differences by gender between the means. The main findings point to students having a savings habit, even though the amounts are minimal (< than $3,000.00 MXN ($160.00 USD) per month) and regarding gender differences, it was only proven that there is a difference in the variable INCOME, but not in the other three (Food Expenses, Mortgage Expenses and Savings).

The author pays attention to the development of one-year and two-year schools, reveals the characteristic features of education development and takes into account regional specifics. The Complete Collection of Laws of the Russian Empire was used as materials, as well as the reports published in the Ministry of Public Education journal; the author also uses scientific publications on Russian public education during the studied period. In order to construct methodologically theoretical conclusions related to the result processing, we used a set of special analytical methods of research, including analysis and synthesis of results, abstraction, and the methodology of assumption. As a result of the application of analytical techniques, it was possible to systematize the information obtained and use it more effectively for theoretical conclusions related to the effectiveness of the public education system on the territory of the Vyatka province. In conclusion, the authors note that the primary schools management in the Vyatka province had its own peculiarities. Thus, an attempt by the Zemstvo to switch a number of primary schools to their own expense had led to the inhibition of the development of regional public education by 1875. In addition, a characteristic feature of the region was that the Zemstvo reform completely eliminated church and parish schools, which again were re-open only in 1871. The common feature of the Vyatka school and national public schools was an increase in the number of girl students in rural schools.

This paper attempts to analyze the educational work of Stanislav Shatskii which was aimed at the formation and development of pupil government. His first pedagogical experiments were carried out in the early twentieth century. He made a great contribution to the development of pedagogical theory and practice. The russian educator Stanislav Shatskii paid a lot of attention to the formation of a children's team, the development of pupil government in the learning process. He organized educational and research work in experimental school-colonies. Its purposes, structure and functions were one-of-a-kind in the world. The educational model of Stanislav Shatskii can serve as a basic matrix for the specialized education of modern Russia, as it contains the grounds, means and mechanisms for the implementation of learning and educational strategies that meet the interests of society, mentality and social basis of the russian people.

This research aimed to investigate the relationships between positive and negative perfectionisms, self-handicapping, self-efficacy and academic achievement. For this purpose, an extensive literature review was conducted and a model was suggested. Structural equation model was employed to test the model. The study group of the research consisted of 350 students studying at the Faculty of Muallim Rıfat Education at Kilis 7 Aralık University. The data was collected through positive and negative perfectionism scale, self-handicapping scale, self-efficacy scale and personal information form. Descriptive, correlation, path and bootstrap methods were used to analyze the data. As a result of the data analysis, it was revealed that students' positive perfectionism have a significant positive effect on their academic achievement and self-efficacy, while they have a significant negative effect on their self-handicapping. Besides, it was found that the negative perfectionism have a significant negative effect on their academic achievement and self-efficacy, and a significant positive effect on self-handicapping. Lastly, it was seen that self-efficacy and self-handicapping play partial mediation roles in the relationship between positive and negative perfectionism and academic achievement. Based on this result, it can be stated that positive and negative perfectionisms are significant variables which have direct and indirect effects on academic achievement.

Universities around the world are internationalizing themselves at a higher pace than even seen before. Faculty support is recognized as critical for the success of the internationalization mission. However, faculty motivation and commitment are often taken for granted; administrators direct most of their attention to tackling partnership issues and managing the external environment. This paper unravels certain critical issues associated with faculty support for internationalization in a small private university located in a US jurisdiction area. Data show that absence of an institutional structure for effective organizational communication would result in imperfect information about internationalization being circulated. Also, incentives like sabbaticals and paid leaves will help improve faculty motivation and thereby garner their support.

The article suggests a method of foreign language lexical competence development on the basis of a Learner’s terminological thesaurus and dictionary of software terms which includes four main components: classification part demonstrating the inner logic of the subject area, glossary with definitions of key terms, thesaurus demonstrating logical and associative relations of the key terms, and bilingual alphabetical dictionary. The thesaurus and dictionary has an extended context part supplemented with an encyclopedic part on the main topics of the thesaurus. The stages of the development and the structure of the Thesaurus and dictionary are described. Pedagogical experiment was conducted and proved high efficiency of the method proposed.

The decreasing performance of student nurses in the professional licensure examinations (LE) in Ghana is a major concern to stakeholders, especially at a time when the nurse-patient ratio stands at 1: 1500. The study sought to determine the effect of students’ demographic and academic characteristics on performance in the Registered General Nursing (RGN) LE. A descriptive retrospective study was conducted using a researcher designed checklist to review the administrative and academic records of 324 nursing students who wrote the RGN LE between 2007 and 2012. A stratified sampling method was used to select the participants for the study. Chi-square statistics were used to determine the effect of the predictors: demographic characteristics, entry grade and Final Grade Point Average (FGPA) on the dependent variable (LE performance). The study revealed a relationship between gender and LE performance, residential status, entry grade and students' FGPA at the college. However, no significant relationship was found between the age of participants, subject background at high school and LE outcomes. We conclude that students’ socio-demographic and academic characteristics such as gender, campus residential status, entry grade and FGPA influence the outcome of the final LE of RGN students. Consequently, priority should be given to applicants with high pre-entry aggregate during recruitment and on campus accommodation should be provided for all trainee nurses. Furthermore, weak students with low FGPA should be given special tuition before they are registered for the final LE to improve their outcomes.

The purpose of this study was to determine if there is a structure of variables that allows us to understand the level of Anxiety towards Mathematics in high school students from the municipalities of Zacatal and Jamapa, Veracruz, Mexico. This was based on the seminal works of Richardson and Suinn [1972], who developed the Mathematics Anxiety Rating Scale (MARS) instrument with 98 items. This was later modified by Alexander and Martray [1989] to develop the Revised Mathematics Anxiety Rating Scale (RMARS) with only 25 items. For this study, the test was applied to a sample of 200 high school students of first, third and fifth semesters. The reliability of the test was α: 0.934 per item and 0.693 per dimension, which suggests acceptable validity and consistency in terms of what Hair, et al. point out [1979]. For the test of the H1 and H2 hypotheses, Exploratory Factor Analysis with extraction of the Principal Components and the Chi2c> Chi2t> statistic suggest that, as a whole, the dimensions of the RMARS scale explain mathematical anxiety. In addition, they indicate that anxiety towards mathematics classes is greater than anxiety towards exams and mathematical tasks; all this accounts for 74 % of the assimilable variance. For H3, the ANOVA test is used to show if there is a difference in means. The results suggest that there are no differences by Gender, Age. Or School Grade, although the MATHTEST dimension in Gender, showed differences in variances.

This study investigated the psychosocial adjustment and anxiety of adolescents during a 7-month exercise intervention programme. In addition, extensive research on the psychosocial adjustment of adolescents during intense physical activity was performed. The experimental group included adolescent girls (n=110) and boys (n=107) aged between 14 and 15 years while the control group included adolescent girls (n=99) and boys (n=112) of the same age group attending the same school. The girls and boys in the EG participated in modified physical education lessons two times a week. Once a month they received a theory class where they were taught about communication disorders of adolescents and ways of preventing them by means of physical activities. In practical classes, the girls and boys in the EG had sports and games (basketball, volleyball and football) as well as Pilates, enhancing physical abilities. The measurement of psychosocial adjustment included the modification method developed by Roger and Daimond. The measurement of anxiety, the methodology of Reynolds and Richmond. In summarising the results of the 7-month exercise intervention programme of enhancing psychosocial adjustment and its components (self-esteem, dominance, positive self-evaluation, emotional comfort, internality, and evaluation by others) and decrease in anxiety in physical education lessons, we can state that after the intervention there are certain tendencies towards improved psychosocial adjustment that assists in overcoming various critical situations.

The aim of the study is to investigate the relationship between democratic and autocratic leadership styles of school administrators and mobbing teachers experience as well as determining whether these leadership styles predict the mobbing level teachers suffer. The data in the study were collected from 395 primary school teachers (165 male and 230 female) in central districts of Mersin, Turkey. “Mobbing Scale” was used to determine what extent teachers suffer from mobbing and “Leadership Style Scale” to measure leadership style of school administrators. According to the analysis results, gender accounts for a significant diference in only “interference in private life” of all five dimensions of mobbing while seniority accounts for a significant difference in “barriers about work and career” and “work commitment” dimensions. There is a negative relationship between democratic leadership and all dimensions of mobbing except for work commitment while it is positive with autocratic leadership. Lastly, autocratic and democratic leadership styles of school administrators predict all dimensions of the mobbing teachers suffer except for work commitment.

Topical issues of development of reader's activity of school students are considered on the basis of the comparative analysis of the situation characterizing a technique of formation of communicative competence of the system of gymnasia formation of the Kursk province of the end XIX – the beginning of the XX centuries. The comparative-historical and theoretical analysis of the sources characterizing features of statement and a solution of the problem of training in reading in domestic pedagogics at a boundary of XIX – the XX centuries, are the main methods of work. Generalization, systematization and classification of material are methods also. The main types of reading characterized by methodologists of the specified period as "serious" and "easy", private and obligatory are allocated. Differences of a modern and historical methodical thought in the relation to reading in the system of training of school students are traced. The key principles of effective training in reading the school student (nature conformity, activity approach, presentation, communication of training with life, anthropocentricity) are distinguished. The paper reviews primary education in the Russian Empire at the end of the 19th century. It focuses on describing the successes and shortcomings of the public education system, as well as identifying the causes of its poor efficiency. As a summary, the authors concluded that the government of the Russian Empire consolidated major efforts to improve public education since the mid-19th century. At the same time, it is important to note that the government was not only committed to educating the population, but it also prioritized the role of parochial schools in the process, which paid much more attention to the spiritual and moral component. This is why significant numbers of parochial schools were opened across the Russian Empire, and the institutions enjoyed funding from the state treasury. On the other hand, schools in the system of the Ministry of Public Education, as well as zemstvo (zemstvo – an elective council responsible for the local administration of a provincial district in czarist Russia) and city schools financed by these communities, grew at a much less marked rate. In general, by the end of the 19th century, Russia achieved the encouraging progress in public education, and the transition to universal education was only a matter of time.
