The Job Shop Scheduling Problem is one of the most popular scheduling models existing in practice, which is among the hardest combinatorial optimization problems. The Ant Colony Optimization is a technique of swarm intelligence, which is applied to combinatorial optimization problems as JSSP. This paper presents ACO meta-heuristic approach with new strategies in solving JSSP. Priority rules play a major role during the construction of a solution. Different priority rules are analyzed and the best one is found. Experiments using well-known benchmark problems show that this approach improves the performance obtained by the basic ant colony system.

Here we have presented a method for the classification of different types of electroencephalogram (EEG) signals in the empirical mode decomposition (EMD) domain. Here we have used a EEG dataset which is available online, in the dataset out of five subsets we have considered three subsets forming normal, interictal and ictal states. Here we have used some of the statistical moments like variance, skewness and kurtosis and we have also used fractal dimension and sample entropy on the intrinsic mode functions (IMFs) which are obtained by doing EMD on the main EEG signals. All the obtained features are feed to a support vector machine for classification of normal and ictal states as well as interictal and ictal states. The mentioned method gives a classification accuracy of 100% in almost all the cases for classification of these states.

This simple automated segmentation technique enhances the process of dynamic MRI studies of the pharyngeal airway and enables diagonising of obstructive events with the collapse plot. Region growing results well in Cosine Coefficients compared with manual segmentation of 1. It automatically detect 90% of collapse events. This approach leads to segment the airway path efficiently. It uses long MRI scans in order to diagnosis the collapsed events with brief, accurate details in a short span of time.

State – space model of traffic light was developed and microcontroller was used as a programming medium according to state-space model. Microcontroller-based system has some key parameters that are directly engaged with system performance and response. System starts with the Microcontroller which will be the main control, Integrated Circuit which is used to link the signal send by the microcontroller to the mechanical relay being energized to light the outputs which are the traffic lights. Proximity sensors are added to measure the volume of vehicles passing in order to adjust the set time of the traffic lights. Parametric studies were done and system responses were observed by variation of key parameters. Similarly for tube inner diameter is 21.18mm and outer diameter 25.4mm, length of tube is 1500mm, contains 36 tubes. Here assembly of shell and tube are done with water and steam as a medium. The prototype design uses sensors that could detect certain pollutant, these sensors are wired to a Micro-controller and programmed to allow the device to give real-time output based on the air pollutants present in the atmosphere and compare the reading with the given National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS). The prototype is operating twenty four (24) hours and seven (7) days a week to monitor and asses the air quality of the said Barangay. The objective of our project is to design an agricultural robot which performs ploughing and seeding operation and takes supply from PV panel. A sensor guidance method is presented to guide a robot platform which is designed independently to drive through the crops in a field according to the design. It is mainly comprised of the rear and front cabins, the driving devices with wheels and the frame. The power supply, motor controllers, and other controlled components are placed in the front cabin and IR sensor is fixed in front of it for finding edge location of both sides. The rear cabin can be used for storage boxes to store some materials such as pesticides, insecticides, and fertilizers. The driving devices include DC motors, gear mechanism with sprocket and wheels. To design a robot which is autonomous and self-sufficient requires enough energy to operate. But they have to be made parallel to optimize the robot energetically. In particular, a power supply solution that utilizes solar cells and a microcontroller has been chosen to power and control the robot.

In this study, we present smartCount, which aims to ensure efficient swine detection and counting that hastens the swine production monitoring task. We introduce a method that automatically detects and counts swine based on Sobel filter with 8-neighborhood implementation and ellipse fitting model, given the still photos of the group of swine captured in every pen. Furthermore, the system can generate periodic production reports and can identify the specific consumables to be served to the swine according to schedules.

Cloud computing is a revolutionary computing paradigm, which enables flexible, on-demand, and low-cost usage of computing resources, but the data is outsourced to some cloud servers, and various privacy concerns emerge from it. Various schemes based on the attribute-based encryption have been proposed to secure the cloud storage. However, most work focuses on the data contents privacy and the access control, while less attention is paid to the privilege control and the identity privacy. In this paper, we present a semi anonymous privilege control scheme Anony Control to address not only the data privacy, but also the user identity privacy in existing access control schemes. Anony Control decentralizes the central authority to limit the identity leakage and thus achieves semi anonymity. Besides, it also generalizes the file access control to the privilege control, by which privileges of all operations on the cloud data can be managed in a fine-grained manner. Subsequently, we present the Anony Control-F, which fully prevents the identity leakage and achieve the full anonymity. Our security analysis shows that both Anony Control and Anony Control-F are secure under the decisional bilinear Diffie – Hellman assumption, and our performance evaluation exhibits the feasibility of our schemes

For M-privacy several anonymization techniques have been used such as bucketization, generalization, perturbation which does not prevent privacy and fail to maintain a privacy constraint and results in loss of information. So we consider the collaborative data publishing for anonymizing horizontally partitioned data at multiple data provider. First, we provide the notion of m-privacy, which give guarantees that the anonymized data satisfies a given privacy constraint against any intruder attack. Then we present heuristic algorithms with effective pruning strategies and adaptive ordering techniques for efficiently checking m-privacy for a set of records i.e to breach the privacy. Here intruder are also detected which try to breach the privacy. Computer Aided Diagnosis (CAD) system helps to detect cells accurately, thereby improving the chances of survival of the patient. In the proposed study, Wiener filter is used to denoise the image and the quality metrics such as Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR) and Root Mean Squared Error (RMSE) are used to assess the performance. The sputum cells are segmented using Mean Shift Clustering Algorithm and to extract the homogeneous tissues in the image. Bayesian Decision Theory classifies images as normal or abnormal.

In these methods of optimization, DGs are randomly placed at each bus and size is obtained. Then these results are compared with previous results and optimal location and sizes corresponding to optimal location are obtained. Propagation models that predict the mean signal strength for an arbitrary transmitter-receiver (T-R) separation distance which is useful in estimating the radio coverage area of a transmitter are called large-scale propagation models, since they characterize signal strength over large T-R separation distances. In this paper, the large-scale propagation performance of Urban, Suburban and Open Area has been compared using Lee Model by varying Mobile Station (MS) antenna height, Transmitter-Receiver distance and Base Station (BS) antenna height, considering the system to operate at 900 MHz. Through the MATLAB simulation it is turned out that the Open Area shows the better performance than that of the other areas.

This study scrutinizes, the influence of wood sawdust (Dalbergia sissoo) as filler on hygroscopic and rheological properties of composite produced by using it with recycled/virgin polypropylene (PP). In this research, wood sawdust of 200-250µm was compounded in the form of pallets using twin screw extruder for which the composites of PP matrix 80, 70, 60 and 50 wt% was used. These pallets were then fabricated into the specimen by injection moulding method with altering formulations based on the synthetic polymer type (PP), synthetic polymer form (recycled and virgin), wood sawdust content and inclusion of coupling agent(MAPP). The result exhibits that recycled polypropylene (RPP) based WPCs shows better water absorption and thickness of swell than composite based on virgin polypropylene (VPP). The maleated polypropylene (MAAP) improves the dimensional stability of the WPCs remarkably when incorporated in small concentration of 3-5 wt% in the formulations. The Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis of tensile-fractured surfaces of the specimen clarifies the aftermath of reprocessing in WPCs and improvement in interfacial bonding due to presence of the coupling agent (MAPP).

Energy is one of the most fundamental of human needs and it drives human life, and is extremely crucial forcontinued human development. This paper presents the findings of a research that was carried out to determine the generation of biogas from cow dung using a low cost fabricated bio-digester. A cylindrical drum of capacity 100 litres was used as bio-digester and fed with 40 kg of cow dung mixed with warm water in proportions of 2:1. Also, calcium hydroxide (Ca (OH)2) was incorporated into the experiment to remove the carbon(iv)oxide from the biogas produced and termitic enzymes solution to acceleratethe biogas yield. Results from this study shows that the digestion of cow dung resulted in an appreciable biogas yield. Comparing this result with sample of cow dung mixed with warm water in the ratio 1:1 and taking into account the natural state of the waste when collected for experiment, it is of considerable range when compared with the standard values. Ultimately, digestion of cow dung is one way of addressing the problem of insufficient energy supply in developing countries.

We have performed series of test to evaluate the importance of the attributes and the results shows that the student’s GPA, gender, study behavior, interest in studies and the engaged time in studying of the USTP Senior High School students had a great impact in the prediction. The researchers also found out that using the Decision Tree Algorithm is efficient for the prediction. It can be concluded that this paper will help the students and teachers to monitor the students’ performance in a systematic way and taking appropriate action to improve it. Performance metrics such as prediction efficiency and time taken for prediction are taken into account to conduct the performance evaluation of the expected classifier. Methods of implementing hybrid amplifiers and types of hybrid models that are available for use are surveyed. Comprehensive gain characteristics of TDFA, EDFA and hybrid amplifiers (TDFA-EDFA) connected in cascaded and parallel configurations are reported. TDFA and EDFA are simulated using multiple pumping scheme at variable lengths in order to optimise the gain spectra.

In this paper performance analysis of solar thermal cooling system for an office building has been analyzed. Analysis has been carried through simulation of a typical office building considered to be located in four different cities, representing four climatic zones of India namely Ahmedabad (Hot and dry), Bangalore (Moderate), Chennai (Warm and humid) and Delhi (Composite). Results indicate that the highest solar fraction has been observed as 0.71, 0.75, 0.77, and 0.78 for hot and dry, moderate, warm and humid and composite climate respectively. The primary energy savings are higher for the moderate climate (Bangalore) and lowest for the warm and humid climate (Chennai).

An electronic health (e-health) record system is a novel application that will bring great convenience in healthcare. The privacy and security of the sensitive personal information are the major concerns of the users, which could hinder further development and widely adoption of the systems. The searchable encryption (SE) scheme is a technology to incorporate security protection and favourable operability functions together, which can play an important role in the e-health record system. In this paper, we introduce a novel cryptographic primitive named as conjunctive keyword search with designated tester and timing enabled proxy re-encryption function (Re-dtPECK), which is a kind of a time-dependent SE scheme. It could enable patients to delegate partial access rights to others to operate search functions over their records in a limited time period. The length of the time period for the delegate to search and decrypt the delegator’s encrypted documents can be controlled. Moreover, the delegate could be automatically deprived of the access and search authority after a specified period of effective time. It can also support the conjunctive keywords search and resist the keyword guessing attacks. By the solution, only the designated tester is able to test the existence of certain keywords. We formulate a system model and a security model for the proposed Re-dtPECK scheme to show that it is an efficient scheme proved secure in the standard model. The comparison and extensive simulations demonstrate that it has a low computation and storage overhead

In a competitive retail market, large volumes of smart meter data provide opportunities for load serving entities to enhance their knowledge of customers’ electricity consumption behaviors via load profiling. Instead of focusing on the shape of the load curves, this paper proposes a novel approach for clustering of electricity consumption behavior dynamics, where“dynamics” refer to transitions and relations between consumption behaviors, or rather consumption levels, in adjacent periods. First, for each individual customer, symbolic aggregate approximation is performed to reduce the scale of the data set, and time-based Markov model is applied to model the dynamic of electricity consumption, transforming the large data set of load curves to several state transition matrixes. Second, a clustering technique by fast search and find of density peaks (CFSFDP) is primarily carried out to obtain the typical dynamics of consumption behavior, with the difference between any two consumption patterns measured by the Kullback–Liebler distance, and to classify the customers into several clusters. To tackle the challenges of big data, the CFSFDP technique is integrated into a divide-andconquer approach toward big data applications. A numerical case verifies the effectiveness of the proposed models and approaches.

Energy can be extracted from a number of ambient conditions like vibration, solar, thermal gradient etc. The maximum power from these systems can be extracted by using MPPT along with power converters. However, conventional maximum power point tracking (MPPT) method for solar cells, are complex and cannot be utilized due to their cost and power requirements. In proposed system the performances of DC-DC converter assisted by MPPT and the performance is characterized by and Perturb and Observe algorithm along with Raspberry Pi controller using boost converter by varying the duty cycle of the boost converter. The main advantages of P&O algorithm are simple in structure, with both stand-alone and grid-connected systems, MPP tracking can be done with very high efficiency.

This paper deals with modeling and simulation of three stage interleaved boost converter (ILBC) based induction motor drive fed from wind generator. The output of wind generator is converted into DC using a three phase uncontrolled rectifier. This voltage is boosted by using ILBC with reduced current ripple with three stages ILBC is proposed for this purpose. The output of the ILBC is converted into three phase balanced ac using a three phase inverter, which feeds a three phase induction motor. This paper proposes the development of Secure system for secret data communication through encrypted data hiding in ECG signals. The proposed encryption technique used to encrypt the secret data into unreadable form and enhances the safety of secret carrier information by making the information inaccessible to any intruder having a random method. After data encryption, the data hider will hide the secret data into the ECG signal coefficients. Although encryption achieves certain security effects, they make the secret messages unreadable and unnatural or meaningless. This is the reason a new security approach called reversible data hiding arises. It’s art of hiding the data in another transmission medium to get secret communication. It does not replace cryptography but rather boosts the security using its obscurity features. Here the DWT(Discrete Wavelet Transform) is used to decompose an ECG signal to different frequency sub bands. Hence, patients ECG signal and other readings such as blood pressure, glucose reading, position,etc., are collected at home by using Body Sensor Networks (BSNs) will be transmitted and diagnosed by remote patient monitoring systems. At the same cost that the patient privacy is protected against intruders while data traverse in open network and stored in hospital servers. In this project, to fulfill HIPAA act, a Discrete Wavelet Transform based steganography technique has been proposed. DWT technique allow ECG signal to put out of sight the patient confidential data and thus guarantees the patient’s privacy and confidentiality.

This work presents the outline of K-means clustering algorithm and enhanced technique applied on K-means clustering. The K-means clustering is the basic algorithm to find the groups of data or clusters in the dataset. To find the similar groups of data the initial selection of cetroid is done and the Euclidean distance is calculated from cetroid to all other data points, and based on the smaller Euclidean distance the data points are assigned to that centroid. The initial point selection effects on the results of the algorithm, both in the number of clusters found and their centroids. Methods to enhance the k-means clustering algorithm are discussed. With the help of these methods efficiency, accuracy, performance and computational time are improved. So, to improve the performance of clusters the Normalization which is a pre-processing stage is used to enhance the Euclidean distance by calculating more nearer centers, which result in reduced number of iterations which will reduce the computational time as compared to k-means clustering. By applying this enhanced technique one can build a new proposed algorithm which will be more efficient, supports faster data retrieval from databases, makes the data suitable for analysis and prediction, accurate and less time consuming than previous work.

In this study, the researchers focused on a new concept of an Arduino-based Microcontroller wheeled laser cutting robot. The researcher is motivated to develop an alternative solution for manual cutting or engraving that could set out to give artists, illustrators, designers and everyone in between have an easy access to laser cutting so they could make their designs a reality. The developed prototype uses 2.5W Blue-Violet and an Arduino NANO that serves as the brain of the robot which the application involves firing a laser which cuts by melting, burning or vaporizing a material. The developed laser cutting robot have passed technical evaluation and testing for the overall functionality and with regards to the results, it indicates that the laser cutting robot is in a good quality as an instructional tool.

A group key generation algorithm investigates group secret key generation problems for different types of wireless networks, by exploiting physical layer characteristics of wireless channels. A new group key generation strategy with low complexity is proposed, which combines the wellestablished point-to-point pair wise key generation technique, the multisegment scheme, and the onetime pad. In particular, this group key generation process is studied for three types of communication networks: 1) A three-node network; 2) A multi node ring network; and 3) A multi node mesh network. Three group key generation algorithms are developed for these communication networks, respectively. The analysis8 shows that the first two algorithms yield optimal group key rates, whereas the third algorithm achieves the optimal multiplexing gain. Next, for the first two types of networks, we address the time allocation problem in the channel estimation step to maximize the group key rates. This nonconvex max – min time allocation problem is first reformulated into a series of geometric programming, and then, a single-condensation method based iterative algorithm is proposed. Numerical results are also provided to validate the performance of the proposed key generation algorithms and the time allocation algorithm.

We propose to show the benefit of 1D convolutional filter, to remove all the non-energetic wave-field in order to provide a better imaging of the reflecting wave-field. In this paper, wave signals are decomposed into intrinsic (characteristic) modes via Discrete Wavelet Transform [4] (DWT), Empirical Mode Decomposition [1] (EMD) and the relationship between seismic activities are investigated.

This project proposes the performance of a 4- switch, 3-phase inverter fed induction motor (IM) drive system for high performance industrial drive systems. In the proposed realization, instead of a usual 6-switch three-phase inverter (SSTPI) a 4-switch three-phase inverter (FSTPI) is used. A cost effective FSTPI fed IM drive using Field-Oriented-Control and Space-Vector PWM controller (with new control SVPWM approach) is implemented as a simulation model. This reduces the cost of the inverter, the switching losses, and the complexity of the control algorithms and interface circuits to generate 6 PWM logic signals. Furthermore, the proposed control approach reduces the computation for real-time implementation. In this paper, a simulation model of the drive system is developed and analyzed in order to verify the effectiveness of the approach. A performance comparison of the proposed IS3P inverter fed drive with a conventional 6S3P inverter fed drive is also mode in terms of speed response and total harmonic distortion (THI)) of the stator current. Simulation results show that the proposed drive system provides a fast speed response and good disturbance rejection capability. The designed inverter fed IM drive is found suitable considering its cost decrease.

This method gives a new algorithm to detect nonlinearities in ECG signals and to determine the order of non-linearity. The ECG bispectrum is analysed and the bicoherence index is calculated to identify non-linearity. The diagonal slice of the polycoherence index of any order, calculated using the diagonal slice of the polyspectrum of the same order and the power spectrum, is proposed as an estimator. The possibility of higher-order non-linearities in ECG signals is investigated using these slices. Physiological and pathological cases have been studied. The polyspectrum and polycoherence slices indicate the presence of higher-order phase-coupled harmonics, in the physiological cases, which is attributed to higher order non-linearities. Differences between physiological and pathological cases are assessed and a decrease in the non-linearity order could be correlated with pathological conditions.
