Teaching is perceived as the oldest and noblest of all professions. In the process of education, teachers occupy an important position, A teacher is the medium through which educational objectives and plans can be actualised. For this, the teacher must have sound, mental and physical health. Stress is common in every aspects of human walk. It is a universal phenomenon and now- a-days no organisation can claim to be stress free. Every job is challenging and more demanding. Each job requires high standard of performance, high quality and getting aspirations and expectation fulfilled. Every employee is forced to have a stressful and hectic lifestyle. The topic “Job Stress and Performance: An empirical study with special reference to teachers of higher educational institutions in Chamarajanagar District” was selected with the overall purpose of finding out the causes of job stress and their impact on performance of teachers. Further, the study also aimed to find out how they struggle with stress in higher educational institutions. Work environment involves the factors like working hour, work culture, Benefits, people, Recognition and Motivation and many more. By choosing working environment as a factor, the objective of the study is to identify the impact of working environment on occupational stress among teachers working in higher educational institutions. The data were collected from primary and secondary sources. A questionnaire was used to collect primary data from faculty members of different higher educational institutions in Chamarajnagar district. A sample of 100 faculty members working in higher educational institutions in Chamarajnagar district was considered for the study. The sample included assistant professors and associate professors. Percentage analysis and ANOVA were used as tools for the study. Bar diagram and Pie Figures were also used to represent statistical data. The result of the analysis indicates that, the teachers working in higher educational institutions work under pressure and suffers with occupational stress because of poor working environment.

The Fear of COVID 19 has had vast impact on all businesses across the globe. With the continuous spike in number of cases and death toll every day, there has been an environment of stress and anxiety all over the world. Employees are paranoid and their motivation is spiralling down which affects their productivity. To deal with this situation and ease the difficulties and challenges in response to Covid 19, this paper consolidates several strategies that can be used to upscale the motivation of employees in this era. The researcher has undergone through various articles, blogs, and research papers and has explored a list of strategies that can be useful to any organisation if implemented. The findings of the study suggest that providing financial assistance to the employees, prioritising the wellbeing of employees, developing sense of belongingness among the employees, reorienting activities, investing in employee development, encouraging teamwork and collaboration, giving employees the freedom and authority to make decisions, recognising and rewarding employees are some of the strategies that help in boosting up the motivation of employees.

The concept of work life balance means proper prioritizing between organizational and personal factors. In other way, it is about managing both the environments in such a way so that both professional and personal life can be enjoyed to the satisfaction. Today, employees are treated as an asset and they are basically the face of the company. Unless and until this group is not motivated enough, then surely it will dilute the entire process of development mechanism of the organization. Business units or companies have to keep in terms with an increase in demand to improve efficiency and also respond positively to their customers, stakeholders. Employers, on the other hand are facing internal pressure from the employees who are seeking employments that allows a developing career, talent utilization and opportunity to have a life outside office. Currently jobs are no more only about pays and promotions, rather employees and job seekers are looking for employment or deciding jobs basing on how well can the workplace, current or potential, can contribute in balancing between their work and personal lives. No longer is it just a matter of remuneration and promotional prospects; job seekers are increasingly basing employment decisions on how well their current or potential workplace can support a balance between personal lives and performance acquaintances. For an organization to survive in this competitive market, it is needed to derive the most from its workforce. And to do this, employees have to feel that their company takes cognizance of their needs in and out of work. In return, they grow to be more productive, more responsive and more loyal to their employer.. In the last two decades, there has been an increased focus on work life balance which can be due to change in the income and family structures like double income families, small and nuclear families, single parent and increased participation of women in the workforce.

The decision to acquire a real estate asset for managing the business operations is critical which can be done either through leasing or owning the property. This would bring us two different perspectives on the operations and financial expenses of the business, both being vital for a business model. The retail store chain ‘Shoppers Stop’ is looking to expand its business for which it needs space of 25000 sq. ft. at Urban Square, one of the largest malls in Rajasthan (Economic Times, 2019). The primary focus of the study is to select the alternative that will provide the required space at the least net cost and determine whether Shoppers Stop should continue or delay its plan of business expansion basis its revenue forecast in current situation. Primary and secondary survey of the subject property, interviews with brokers and property agents were conducted to derive the necessary data points. It was found out that leasing the property would be the best alternative irrespective of the pre-COVID or post- COVID period. But, due to the COVID -19 pandemic, the retail sector has been hit hard and there has been a sharp decline in the revenues. Hence, Shoppers Stop should delay its plan of expanding the operations.

The present study is conducted with the purpose of analysing the role played by rewards and recognition in retaining employee engagement at selected private banks of city Indore. In the study, the researcher has measured the existing level of engagement at banks understudy where employees from four private banks were reached out with the help of a structured questionnaire and responses from 100 employees were collected seeking data on their engagement levels and prevailing rewards and recognition practices there. The results of the analysis disclose that employee engagement at private banks of Indore is slightly up than moderate and ‘rewards & recognition’ do have a significant effect on employee engagement.

This paper investigated the impact of smart, sustainable city development on project management and commercial property values since this aspect of our profession is gaining currency both in terms of discourse and practice. The objectives include to: discuss societal characteristics influencing smart, sustainable city development, discuss sustainability factors on commercial property values and also what influence sustainability has as a value factor for commercial property as well as whether a sustainable commercial building is worth more than a conventional one. This paper is purely a literature review on earlier publications in this area and not empirical research. Some researchers’ works were reviewed. It was found out and recommended that smart, sustainable city development impact project management in terms of terminology such as projectification of society and societal issues and transformation of the socialization of project management. Triple bottom line concept affects project deliverable and also the process of project management. The ownership of sustainable and environmentally friendly buildings results in multiple benefits. It was also found that link exists between the market value of a building, its sustainable features and its performance. Estate valuers are yet to formulate rules because the research relating to the value and cost of sustainable buildings is not extensive enough for such generalization.

Long products constitute almost half of the annual steel production, which stands at 53 million tones presently. Industry estimates show that the construction sector alone consumes close to 45 per cent of the total long products output. Stainless steel accounts for only 3 per cent of the country’s total steel production and about 70 per cent finds application in kitchenware and the rest in industries. The demand for flat steel products will be strong, with rising production of automobiles as automobile sales have risen an annual 15%. Steel along with iron has a weight of 3.64 per cent in the wholesale price index. The present index of basic metal and alloy recorded an 8.55% growth rate. Production of bars and rods recorded 19.67% growth rate and steel wires recorded 11.11% growth rate. India’s steel production is likely to surpass the domestic requirement by 2011-2012, easing pressure on price of the alloy. Other allied steel products are HR coils, CR coils, and HDG coiletc. End users sector like auto, consumer durables, construction and electricity have all shown steady growth in recent years and Indian steel import figure further provides evidence of strong domestic demand.

Extant literature revealed that employment practices determine employee productivity. However, there is paucity of empirical literature on the direct relationship between recruitment practice and employee productivity in the Nigerian mining industry. The study examines the relationship between recruitment and employee productivity in selected mining companies in the North-Central region of Nigeria. Using survey research design, a structured questionnaire was administered to 425 employees of five selected mining companies in the North-Central region of Nigeria. The findings revealed that recruitment practice has a positive significant relationship with employee productivity in selected mining companies in the North-Central region of Nigeria (r (411) = 0.515, p<0.05). Based on the findings, the study recommends that management of mining companies in Nigeria should conduct their recruitment exercises in an unbiased manner to ensure the employment of the right personnel and foster high level of employee productivity. Management should appropriately assign responsibilities to each employee based strictly on merit.
