Objective. We evaluated the quality of the nutrition of women and children of pre-school age, residing under different ecological and social conditions in the Ivankiv and the Kyiv regions. Materials and methods. The object of our study was the children of pre-school age (n=1011) and pregnant women (n=466), permanently residing in different settlements of the Kyiv region at the territories contaminated due to the Chоrnobyl catastrophe, food intakes and nutritional status of the children aged 1-6 years and pregnant women. We used spectral-dynamic device "KSK-BARS"), clinical, biochemical, and statistical methods (comparison with the norms of physiological needs), and 24-hours survey method of the nutrition reproduction. We defined nutritional status, energetic value and nutrient composition of food intakes. Results of the study. We demonstrated percentage data of the major polynutrient deficits among pregnant women and pre-school age children of the Ivankivsky region, the Kyiv oblast. More often, there was a lack of vitamin C - 36%, folic acid - 30%, vitamins A - 29%, E - 27%, B1 - 23%, B2 - 26%, B6 - 25%, D - 25%, B12 - 17%, B7 - 17%, PP - 13% from the number of the surveyed persons. Vitamin status of pre-school age children, born and residing on the contaminated areas, confirms the presence of hypovitaminosis A, E, D, B1, B2, B9, C and hypoelementosis - calcium, iron, iodine, and zinc. We established a dependence of children's health state and mother nutrition quality during pregnancy. We demonstrated a significance of the solution of the problem of micronutrient deficits, especially among children and pregnant women. Implementation of the spectral-dynamic method for the assessment of the nutritional status and state of nutrient supply can help to avoid alimentary and alimentary depended diseases. Use of the spectral-dynamic method favoured the obtaining of the reliable data, which accelerated individual provision of necessary hygienic recommendations without any biochemical analyses.
