A 37-yr old female patient having symptoms of pain in and restriction of movements of right arm visited OPD of Kayachikitsa dept. at Govt. Akhandanand Ayurveda college & hospital, Ahmedabad on 1 march 2022 (opd no. 5341) for the treatment. Patient was having history of non-union of fracture even after surgical interventions (twice) in last one year. she was further advised for surgery for the same. Patient was in very apprehensive condition. Patient was advised ayurvedic treatment after complete clinical assessment. Patient got relief in her complaints clinically as well as proper union of fracture was achieved (x-ray/radiological assessment) following classical line of treatment mentioned under Bhagna chikitsa in Ayurveda classics.

Menopause is a unique phenomenon, also known as “the change of woman life”. It is the ending phase of a woman’s monthly menstrual period and ovulation which is defined as a time of cessation of ovarian function resulting in permanent amenorrhea i.e., cessation of menstruation for 6 months to 1 year at approximate age of 45 years or above. Due to a decline in the amount of the oestrogen and progesterone hormone which are produced by her body causes several changes physically and mentally both. In Ayurveda, there is no specific description for menopause but the word Rajonivrutti is mentioned at 50 years. The depletion of Ovarian follicles in menopause leading to decrease in ovarian hormones results in manifestation of aging process in women, hot flushes, sweating, mood changes, irritation, lack of concentration, loss of libido, forgetfulness, osteoporosis etc. In Allopathic science this condition is treated by oestrogen, either alone or in combination with progestins (HRT) but in Ayurveda, physiological system based on balance of “vata”,“pitta” and “kapha”. Rajonivrutti is predominant by vata so, there is a significant tendency to develop more degenerative changes. So, Rasayana therapy described by Acharyas which promotes longevity is very helpful in alleviating the vata and associated symptoms along with Panchakarma therapies like shirodhara, shiropichu, nasaya play a very important role in stress management, improvement in quality of life. A detailed description of menopause is elaborated in the paper highlighting the role of Ayurveda in abating the symptoms of menopause with a case study on successful Ayurvedic management of menopausal syndrome.

As per demography study population is not static but is always in a dynamic state because of deaths, births, and migration factors. The total world population is estimated to be 8 billion in November 2022. It is now increasing at a much faster rate of 1 billion per year. India’s population has reached 1.1417 billion 2022. India would be the world’s most populous country exceeding that of China. The rapid increase of population has got an adverse effect on the national economy. The aim of family welfare planning is to bring down population growth, so as to ensure a better standard of living and improve health, education and economic opportunities. Contraception is the act of preventing conception. This can be a devices, medication, procedures or behaviors for male and female both. Various side effects have been observed with modern contraceptive methods so for that we need to find out alternative option to overcome modern contraceptives side effects. In Ayurvedaacharyas mentioned various methods like local and oral medicinal yoga as a Grabhanirodhak. For the exposes of clinical evidences of Ayurvedic Contraception to gather Ayurvedic research and texual references on GarbhanirodhakDravya and methods, which would be proving that Ayurvedic Contraceptives methods also have better and safe result.

Health is defined as an equilibrium state of dosha, dhatu, mala, agni, indriyas and manas. Disturbed state of these factors leads to disease. Harmony in family depends on health of women, certain diseases may not be life threatening but disturbs in daily activities, which adversely affects her family. Kshetraja vyadhis affecting female mainly comes under Yonivyapads, Karnini yonivyapad is one among them. Women of fertile age group with self-defense mechanism in genital tract prevents ascending infections. But due to Mithya ahara-vihara, and specifically straining during labor in absence of true labor pains, vitiation of dosha- dathus develops Karnika like growth on Garbhasaya dvaramukha and produces sthanika kapha dusti lakshanas like Picchila srava, kandu, sheetalatwam, alpa vedana which ditoriates physical, psychological and social wellbeing of women. In present days 80% of reproductive age group of females are suffering with this current problem. Based on clinical presentation karnini yonivyapad can be correlated with cervical erosion. The present work is an attempt to study efficacy of Pushyanuga churna orally and Kanadi varti (Shodhana dravya varti) locally, this combination of treatment given maximum relief to the patients within 3months of follow up

BACKGROUND: Analgesics are agents which selectively relieve pain by acting in the CNS and peripheral pain mediators without changing consciousness. NSAIDs are most commonly used to control pain. But due to their adverse effects, there uses are limited. Many herbal or herbo-mineral preparations are commonly used for the treatment of pain in alternative medicine. Chirabilvadi Yoga, a combination of four classical Ayurvedic dried herbs i.e. leaves of Chirabilva (Holoptelia integrifolia), bark of Arjuna (Terminalia arjuna), leaves of Jyotishmati (Celastrus paniculatus) and leaves of Kakanasa (Pentatropis capensis) in powder form is used in this study to evaluate and compared the analgesic activity profile of this Yoga before and after trituration with juice of Chirabilva leaves . METHODS: Charles Foster albino rats (200 ± 20 g) of either sex divided in to four groups, six in each were used to evaluate the analgesic effect by using Formaline induced hind paw licking and Eddi’s hot plate methods. Solution of Chirabilvadi Yoga and Bhavita Chirabilvadi Yoga were made with deionized water freshly with the dose of 900 mg /kg body weightorally. RESULTS:A decrease in the number of paw licking response were seen in the second phase (10-20) of formalin induced paw licking response in both the test drugs groups, which indicates the presence of mild analgesic activity in the drug mediated through modulation of neuropeptides. In eddy’s hot plate method test rug Bhavita Chirabilvadi Yoga shows non-significant decrease at 120,180 and 240 min as compare to initial and control group. CONCLUSION: This study suggested that Chirabilvadi Yoga and Bhavita Chirabilvadi Yoga possessed mild and similar analgesic activity. Hence, it can be used in the management of mild pain conditions.

Introduction: Vidarikanda is tuber which grows throughout the year and is widely used as medicine and nutritional supplement. It performs many Karmas and Brimhana is one most important amongst them. All procedures and treatment which nourish, build and strengthen body is called Briṃhana. Materials and Methods: Almost all the Acharyas described the Brimhana Karma of Vidarikanda. Its properties like Guna, Rasa, and Veerya make it able to perform Brimhana karma. There is uniformity in opinion about Brimhana karma of Vidarikanda in ayurvedic texts. Discussion: According to modern science its capacity to nourish, build and strengthen body is due to nutritious components present in it like Carbohydrates, Mono Saccharides, Poly Saccharides, Hexose Sugars, Steroids, Alkaloids, Anthraquinone glycosides, Saponin, Flavonoids. Some other chemicals present in Vidarikanda gives it therapeutic importance. Conclusion: Hence according to Ayurveda as well as modern science Vidarikanda shows Brimhana effect.

Skin disorders are a very common problem nowadays. According to Ayurveda, Imbalance of tridosha and dhatus leads to skin diseases. The properties of rakta shodana, rakta shamana, vishaghna, krimighna, kandughna etc are required in the treatment of the skin diseases. Drugs are significant to use in the treatment of skin disorders which have pharmacological properties like antiviral, antifungal and antibacterial etc. Kusthaghna Mahakashaya are given in the Charak Samhita of Ayurvedic textbooks. The information about ten drugs in Kusthaghna Mahakashaya are collected from Ayurvedic texts such as Bhavaprakash Samhita, Nighantu aadarsh, Raj Nighantu etc., modern medicinal plant’s books, research articles, other published / unpublished resources, electronic data like Google scholar, PubMed, Web of Science, Science direct etc. In this article, the various useful properties of ten drugs of Kushthaghna Mahakashaya has been discussed in a brief.

People around the world consume a variety of green leafy vegetables. A number of recipes can be made from it depending on its seasonal availability. They are with a sour, sweet or bitter taste. Thus, they taste good in a variety of combinations. The ten green leafy vegetables (Pattila) that are primarily consumed by Keralites during Karkidaka month are described here. The month of Karkidaka starts on July 17 ends on August 16. It comes under the Varsha Ritu. As per Ayurveda a person’s Bala (Strength) and Agni (digestive power) will be very low during this period. Therefore, Kerala residents adopt specific regimens and dietary patterns throughout this season in order to improve Bala,Agni and combat numerous ailments of the rainy season. Some of them are Pattila Thoran, Karkidakakanji and Karkidaka Cikitsa. Pattila is the combination of ten leaves that are commonly available and used by people in different areas of Kerala. Vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients are abundant in green leafy vegetables. This will keep the person healthy and aid to prevent several ailments. It is because of the presence of certain chemical constituents found in plant leaves. Lack of knowledge on the nutritive value of green leafy vegetables among the public is the main drawback in their lower consumption. This article attempts to explain the significance of ten leaves among green leafy vegetables.
