Schools are not only as the basis of education, but also the basis of da’wah, which is intended to create students who are islamic in their behaviour and lifes. The current reality shows that a lot of children are involved in a variety of delinquency, and the most horrible of them is free sex and drugs. This paper deals with da’wah that was carried out in Senior High School (SMA) 6 Palu and its barriers. This research shows that da’wah in this school was conducted anually, especially in Islamic holidays and the holy month of Ramadhan. Besides, da’wah was carried out in a partial and personal way. “Partial” means da’wah depends on the teachers of Islamic religious education, while “personal” means it is only desiring teachers who conduct Islamic da’wah. Moreover, the problems of da’wah in this school comprise the absence of school policy that binds all elements of school to do da’wah, in addition to the lack of budget to support the da’wah activities.

Preaching is a very noble task because it leads to the goal of reaching the divine blessing, as performed by the Masturat group in their da’wah activities in Palu. This da’wah activities focused on the effort to restore women to their nature in the household, whose its goal is to build happy family.

This paper is to analyse the content of the newspapers published in Central Java, such as Suara Merdeka, Jateng Pos and Warta Jateng, in their role of giving information and education about religious values in building children’s character. This is driven by the fact that a lot of deviances were made by students, such as fight among students and criminal gangs in school. This is one of the indicators that character education is not enough to be taught only at school through curriculum. Therefore, newspapers play a role in that purpose. The research shows the newspapers play a role as information provider, educator, persuasive communicator, cultural transmitter, correlator, and social testator. In the meantime, character education is categorised into: practicing religious teachings, having good ethic and morality, understanding religious norms, doing mutual respect, having tolerance towards others, cooperating in social and national life.

Tulisan ini berfokus pada adopsi dan pemanfaatan Internet untuk keperluan dakwah. Kehadiran Internet dan berbagai platform pendukung telah memungkinkan dakwah dilakukan secara lebih menarik dan interaktif. Namun saat ini sangat sedikit da’i yang telah berdakwah secara online. Fakta terbaru menunjukkan bahwa lebih dari 71 juta atau sekitar 28 persen penduduk Indonesia sudah memanfaatkan Internet dalam kehidupan mereka seharihari. Karena manyoritas dari penduduk Indonesia adalah muslim, maka sebagian besar dari pengguna Internet itu adalah masyarakat Muslim. Ini berarti lahan yang sangat potensial bagi para da’i untuk berdakwah secara online. Untuk itu tulisan ini membahas mengapa para da’i sudah saatnya perlu berdakwah secara online. Beberapa alasan dikemukakan dalam tulisan ini yang antara lain; tingginya pengguna Internet di kalangan mansyarakat Muslim, luasnya jangkuan dakwah online, menambah jumlah pendengar, dan materi dakwah bisa tersimpan lama di situs situs online. Untuk itu tulisan ini menyarankan para da’i untuk menambah pengetahuan dan ketrampilan terkait tecknologi informasi guna mendukung mereka berdakwah secara online. Tulisan ini adalah berupa kajian pustaka, tapi kajiannya diharapkan memberi ide tentang pentingnya para da’i berdakwah secara online. Kedepan dibutuhkan kajian empiris agar argumen terkait pentingnya para da’i berdakwah secara online dapat divalidasi.

This paper examines the pattern of Muhammadiyah’s preaching in Banjarmasin. Of Islamic organizations in this city, Muhammadiyah has a large base of masses since dakwah has been carried out consistently and continuously. Muhammadiyah of Banjarmasin has two models in doing da’wah activities. First, internal da’wah model, which is done in a various ways such as verbal (bil lisan), writing (bil kitabah) or behaviour (bil hal), directed to a group of people belong to Muhammadiyah. This also includes consolidation of the members of Muhammadiyah. Second, external da’wah model, which is directed to non-Muhammadiyah’s members.

This paper discusses Shafi'i’s model of da’wah in the discovery of Islamic law. Al-Shafi'i is one of the da’wah leaders in Islamic law, so he was well known as a famous expert of Islamic law who taught the foundations of Islam and explained how to understand and teach the science of usul al-fiqh. To him, to learn the methodology of discovering Islamic law is necessary for a mujtahid who wants to learn in depth the rules of usul al-fiqh. The value of da’wah is very fundamental by which the Moslems are easily well informed, and then implement Islamic law appropriately in their everyday life. Therefore, it is essential to learn and know Al-Shafi'i as a free legal expert (mujtahid mustaqil) and his school of Islamic law, which is also dominating in Indonesia.

The current social situation shows social problems and deviant behavior. In such condition, Allah gives rules, which contain His commands and prohibitions, and asks people to do according to Allah’s rules, and to avoid from what He forbids. From this condition, Islamic preach (da’wah) is needed, which promotes Islamic shari’ah covering all aspects of life. Therefore, Islamic da’wah demands a myriad of approaches, methods, media, message, actors and partners of da’wah. From this, cultural da’wah model emerged, by which those who were not categorised as a preacher are excited to preach through non-verbal language, such as giving a good example, wisdom, community empowerment, and so forth. This kind of da’wah is proved to be quite effective and successful.
