Este artículo presenta por un lado cómo la ley e instituciones en materia agraria establecen una estructura y funcionamiento para el campo mexicano en su propiedad social, sin embargo, resalta la dinámica que ellos mismos han generado. Donde en la práctica, lo real no corresponde completamente con la legislación, siendo ésta a su vez, un producto de remanentes conceptuales los que hasta hoy, diferencian dos nociones que probablemente no tengan de fondo características suficientes para ser consideradas por la ley de formas distintas.

The main goal of this article is to analyze the profile of Brazilian organic production from the data of the Agricultural Census 2006, the last available. The paper identifies and quantifies the establishments producing organic by mapping the production and the producers profile, their socioeconomic characteristics and geographical regions where they are predominantly located. The methodology used was the analysis of secondary data from the Agricultural Census 2006 IBGE, taken from SIDRA website, using the key variable of establishments that made 'use of organic agriculture'. The results show that organic farming is not yet significant in Brazil. With regard to the socio economic profile, establishments that make use of organic agriculture are family farmers, especially those classified in Group B of PRONAF (which are the poorest), which participate in unions and/or professional associations. These farmers are mostly private owners of the land, with low level of education and with little or no access to technical assistance. The most common economic activities where organics are found are livestock and temporary crops. This is a profile that would deserve a high attention of the State (for example, in actions of the PLANAPO) because the demand of organic products to consumption is growing in Brazil and all over other parts of the world.

This paper aims to analyze the change in the livelihoods of fishermen affected by the construction of the Funil Hydroelectric Power Plant, which directly affected Ponte do Funil and Pedra Negra and Macaia communities, located in the Campo das Vertentes region of the state of Minas Gerais. Based on the analysis of the documents related to the environmental licensing process of the enterprise, interviews and fieldwork, we aimed to analyze the resources and life strategies triggered by these fishermen before and after the construction of the power plant, seeking to understand the transformation of these fishermen identity from the substitution of artisanal fishing activities for fish-farming. As main results is emphasized that before the construction of the entreprise these affected fishermen had fishing as their main livelihood from the lake filling they are no longer fishermen to turn into fish producers, a fact which by itself, it was not able to ensure the socio-economic and cultural reproduction of the same.
