Since the opening of the first in Central Asian countries SVS Epilepsy Laboratory named after V.M. Savinov (2004), the scientific approach to methods used to record brain potential and to epileptology, has been developing rapidly in Kazakhstan. In addition, the number of institutions and doctors who fail to make correct EEG recording and interpret the obtained data properly has abruptly increased. This fact, as well as the experience of performing over 12,000 EEGs of various types (video EEG monitoring over 3 hours and up to 10 days, Holter monitoring,
stress EEG, and others) have become the grounds for standardizing the EEG algorithm for patients with different forms of epilepsy. And for introducing the experience of Associations of neurophysiologists of Russia, Europe, and the USA in the routine practice of specialists
being members of the Kazakhstani Association of neurophysiologists.
The material is structured in the form of several articles with illustrations of EEG records, with reference to source materials and cited literature. The material presents data from the archives of the SVS Epilepsy, Convulsive States and Gamily Monitoring Laboratory named after V.M. Savinov, as well as from other sources. This article describes algorithms of EEG studies in case of Rolando's epilepsy, localized idiopathic epilepsy with cervical paroxysmal events, and pseudo-Lennox syndrome. The material is subject to discussion by experts in epileptology and neurophysiology.
