The banking sector is dominant in India as it accounts for more than half the assets of the financial sector which depends on a sound banking system efficiently develops and mobilized savings in productive sectors and a solvent banking system ensures that the bank is capable of meeting its obligation to the depositors. This paper concerns with measure the ability of private banks and public banks to generate interest income from the market. Net income consider on the base of comparison interest earned and expenses paid for same. Paper studied five-five selected private banks and public banks for study for five years. Study enclosed five accounting year 2008-09 to 2012-13.T-test test employed for analysis study between private and public banks. Study concerned with secondary data collected from the various banks reports for data analysis and interpretation. However, from an investor’s and bank’s point of view, it would be greatly helpful in future era.

In the 21st century, it is not new to talk about social entrepreneurship; rather it is difficult to talk about this topic in simple terms. Because the concept has been understood and explained by different authors, at different times and in different terms. But if we talk about this in simple words, social entrepreneurship means combination of the welfare of society with the enterprise having new ideas, innovations, resources, opportunities. The paper explains not only the concept of social entrepreneurship and social entrepreneur but also the different characteristics of social entrepreneurs, their social as well as entrepreneurial function, creation of development cycle through social entrepreneurship and also those five ingredients which make up successful social entrepreneurship. They are - The social entrepreneur, the nature of the organization they create, the organization’s interaction with its complex environment, the circle of social capital accumulation the social entrepreneur sets in train, the lifecycle of the organization, which takes it from inception through growth to maturity. So the social entrepreneurship all around goes hand in hand with social entrepreneurs.

The individual characters of women investors of Indian citizens have not been entirely researched so far. The main intention of doing this research is to know about women investors’ attitude towards investment habit. To achieve objectives the primary data has been collected through structured questionnaires. Secondary data has been collected from reports, books, journals, magazines and other published data’s. For collecting the primary information judgment sampling technique is used. The sample size restricted to 50 respondents. Correlation statistical technique is used to draw the result from the collected data. The socio economic factors like age, education, income, occupation and investment. Women investors towards investment habit are encouraging.

One of critical tenets that we have in Contemporary critical appreciation in the context of Structuralism is to get to the deep structure of the text. It is the discovery of that essential thing that makes any text a text; any poem a poem. It is this vital and indispensable critical device that makes a poem distinct form as compared with the other genres of literature. In fact, Structuralist theorists are interested in identifying and analyzing the structure that underlies all cultural phenomena – not just literature (http://www.shmoop.com/structuralism). A proposal is thus made to critique and analyze Songs of Kabiras translated by Rabindranath Tagore from a Structuralist point of view.

In India old people living in traditional joint families had a say in their household affairs and they also had a role in the home and the wider community. Today in the modern society where economic factor is the prime motivating factor, the lives and relationship have been sacrificed for one’s pleasure, comfort and luxury and the old people have lost all their respect and dignity. Without the safe, secure and dignified status in the family, the elderly are finding themselves vulnerable. Welfare of the elderly has been a low priority with the country. In order to get an insight into perceptions of institutionalized care takers regarding the dignity of elderly, the present study was undertaken with twenty-one care takers of four old age homes of cities namely Baroda and Anand of the Gujarat state. Purposive sampling method was employed for the sample selection. Questionnaire was used as a data collection tool for the study. The major findings of the study revealed that all the selected four institutions offered enjoyable, stimulating and challenging activities for elderly people, perceived choices and interests of elderly people while planning activities for them as well as planned for religious and recreational programs in order to reduce loneliness and isolation of elderly in the institution. Many factors are responsible for their living in such old age homes. However, this does not mean that their life has come to an end. Elderly people can also live with dignity and respect in old age homes. There is a necessity to focus on emerging needs of elderly. The stereotypical activities should be replaced. Moreover, the institutions are required to give older people scope for personal development and participation.

The nature and sources of pollution in study area and indicated the possible consequences of an increase in the levels of pollution to human health and urban property values. Constant exposure to polluted environment due to pollution, most often, leads to morbidityand sometimes mortality. As a matter of fact, a million of the industrial workforce who participate directly in various production processes and post- production activities in these factories and the general public settled in and around the agglomeration is the direct victims of this social evil. Since the deterioration of air quality ruins their health and welfare, they try to avert the negative influences of pollution. This aversive behavior of individual households is to be seen as part of their attempts to regain the welfare losses due to pollution. It is therefore significant and necessary that we value the welfare losses / benefits due to pollution. The main focus of this chapter, hence,is to estimate values of health effects due to pollution in the study area industrial agglomeration. We adopt the Revealed Preference Approach and Contingent Valuation Methods to estimate monetary values of changes in human health associated with the reduction in environmental quality. This chapter is divided into 5 sections. In section 1 we present the health production function model which is used for estimating the household's willingness to pay for reduced morbidity. In section 2, we present a detailed description of how the environmental variables are related to different socio economic characteristics of sample households in the study area. Section 3 deals with the estimation of willingness to pay using Health production Function. In section 4, we estimate the willingness to pay using the Contingent Valuation Method. An attempt is made in section 5 to compare this willingness to pay estimates. The last section gives a summary of this chapter.

The state’s Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) expanded at a CAGR of 15.79% from 2008-09 to 2013- 14. Gujarat’s current erratic level of manufacturing export involvement and performance, coupled with the fact that the phenomenon is extensively researched mainly in the developed economies, a research problem is posed. Gujarat registered an increase of 14.82% in the Per Capita Income for 2013-14, estimated at INR 106,831 at current prices and well above the national average of INR 80,388 for the same year. Gujarat attracted 131 FDI proposals worth USD 3.7 billion over 2011-12 and became the state with the second highest number of FDI proposals. Various growth drivers of Gujarat Economy are; Enabling business environment with greater global participation, Access to technology as a consequence of the IT revolution, Simplification and rationalization of Direct and Indirect Tax structures, well established Financial System & Strong Market Fundamentals, Land of abundant natural resources and diverse climatic conditions. The number of factories in Gujarat have increased from 22, 220 in 2011-12 to 22587 in 2012-13. 41% of total Indian port cargo was handled by Gujarat’s ports (2013- 14). Gujarat industrial sector comprises of over 5,75,000 MSME’s providing employment to 36.56 lakh people. In nutshell, if we talk about total export and import of Gujarat there is a enormous opportunities lies beyond horizon. The main research problem this paper seeks to address is: why is the export involvement of manufacturing SMEs from the following sub-sector in Gujarat is erratic: Textiles Machinery, Food & Agro, Based Industries and Chemicals & Chemicals Products. Extant empirical findings in the field which relate to the problem above are based in a developed context (e.g. North America & Europe). As a result, the understanding of exporting and non-exporting behaviour of SMEs in Gujarat represents a gap in the field. Therefore, this thesis seeks to identify key factors that determine exporting behaviour of various sector of operations’ like Textile, Engineering, Food & Agro based Sector and Chemical & Chemical Product Sector in Gujarat. We have identified various factors affecting export behaviour of these sectors and also checked impact on various types of sectors we have taken for our study. We have used questionnaire method for data collection and in analysis conducted Descriptive & ANOVA test. Findings suggest that all independent variable taken has more impact on textile and chemical and chemical product sector firms compare to engineering and food/agro sector firms.
