The results of the floristic survey of 15 geographical points located on the territory of Volgograd region (Russia) are presented. A total of 565 vascular plant species belonging to 139 families were found. The authors found the location of 18 species listed in the Red Book of Russian Federation (2008): Artemisia salsoloides, Colchicum laetum, Delphinium puniceum, Fritillaria ruthenica, Genista tanaitica, Hedysarum cretaceum, Hyssopus cretaceus, Iris pumila, Jurinea cretacea, Koeleria sclerophylla, Lepidium meyeri, Matthiola fragrans, Otites hellmannii, Pulsatilla pratensis, Stipa dasyphylla, S. pulcherrima, S. zalesskii , Tulipa schrenkii and Red Book of Volgograd region (2017): Asperula tephrocarpa, Centaurea gerberi, Crambe tataria, Jacobaea schwetzowii, Juniperus sabina, Jurinea ledebourii, Lepidium coronopifolium, Scrophularia cretacea, Stipa cretacea.

The collection of herbaceous perennials at the St. Petersburg State University Botanical Garden numbers at least 680 taxa. The collection contains 78 species of the flora of the North-West of European part of Russia. This number includes 35 species, listed in Red Books of Russian Federation, Leningrad Region, Baltic Rim and Eastern Fennoscandia. The list of rare and endangered species contains a total of 46 items. Lunaria rediviva is rare species for Leningrad Region. It has joined the ecosystem of the park zone of Botanical Garden, demonstrating successful growth and pro-liferation. The collection contains endemics of the Caucasus and Siberia. Among the ornamental plants, the largest in number of cultivars are Phlox paniculata – 54 varie-ties and Paeonia lactiflora – 20 varieties. The results of observations of the wintering of cultivars of Antirrhinum majus, Lavandula angustifolia, Penstemon hartwegii are presented.

Spatial regularities in distribution of the green mass of herbaceous plants main communities at Mount Mogutova within the Zhiguli low mountains are studied using multiple regression methods. It is shown that 81% of this variability is due to direct environmental factors - soil acidity and humidity. At the same time, 77% of the green mass variability is explained by topography, as well as the direct environmental factors themselves (from 69 to 83%). The role of topography in spatial differentiation of direct-acting factors is substantiated.

The main results of the study of restorative successions on the felling areas in the Southern Ural region carried out for many years by researchers of Ufa geobotanical school under the leadership of Boris Mikhailovich Mirkin are presented. The classification of clear-cutting vegetation is developed and presented the main regularities of vegetation communities formed in course of restorative successions after clear-cutting forests belonged to the classes Querco-Fagetea, Brachypodio-Betuletea, Vaccinio-Piceetea and Asaro-Abietetea.

The contribution has been appreciated of Boris Mikhailovich Mirkin, an outstanding Russian geobotanist and a scientist of encyclopedic learning, to the syntaxonomy of cyanobacterial-algal coenoses and communities of macrophythic algae. B.M. Mirkin participated actively in the classification work on cyanobacterial-algal coenoses of caves and the communities of macrophythic algae of the Black Sea that was conducted for the first time ever.

In 2006–2015, the variety of synanthropic and synanthropized vegetation of the settlements in the central part of the Bashkir Cis-Urals was studied. The prodromus includes 9 classes, 14 orders, 21 unions, 37 associations, 5 subassociations, 23 variants, 15 communities, 15 basal communities, 8 derivative communities. Among them 4 associations, 2 subassociations, 12 variants, 9 communities, 9 basal communities, 6 derivative communities are described for the first time in the Repub-lic of Bashkortostan.

The review of the plant communities of the class Alno glutinosae-Populetea albae P. Fukarek et Fabijanić 1968 of Lower Volga Valley has been carried out. The Lower Volga Valley vegetation database was used for this purpose. The database was created using the computer program TURBOVEG. Now it includes a total of 14954 relevés, recorded on the territory of the Lower Volga Valley in the period from 1924 to 2013. Expert system based on the method «Cocktail» applied for recognition of relevés that can be attributed to the associations listed above and occurring in the Lower Volga Valley. The characteristics of 2 associations of the class Alno glutinosae-Populetea albae, in this region is given. Associations are subject to the order Alno-Fraxinetalia excelsioris Passarge 1968, to the alliance Poo angustifoliae-Ulmion laevis Golub in Golub et E.G. Kuzmina 1997.

The article gives data about contemporary vascular plant composition of the proposed protected area “Ivinskiy Razliv”. In the period 2007 – 2016 498 native species have been detected, as well as 2 species which escaped from cultivation. The structure of the flora is characterized by the presence of east taiga component, as well as by the prominent number of taxa which are connected with primary forest ecosystems. 2 species are included into the Red Data Book of Russian Federation, 8 species in the Read Data Book of Nature of Leningrad Region. Within the proposed protected area, we have detected the largest populations of some taxa which are pro-tected in Leningrad Region and in the same time are indicators or specialists for biologically valuable forest vegetation (Epipogium aphyllum, Petasites frigidus, Ranunculus subborealis, Rubus humulifolius, etc.). We give recommendations for limitation of forestry within the proposed protected area, which can provide long-term conservation of valuable nature ecosystems and other objects of the proposed protected area.

Under the Red Book of Bryansk Region, the authors reviewed the existing locations of five marsh species of vascular plants (Blysmus compressus (L.) Panz. ex Link, Carex hartmannii Caj., Parnassia palustris L., Pedicularis palustris L., Ranunculus lingua L.) included in the "List of Species Needing Additional Monitoring and Study:. To this end, we analyzed the herbarium collections of the Herbarium of Ivan Petrovsky Bryansk State University and State Natural Biosphere Reserve "Bryansk Lest" as well as published information about the floral finds in the region. Phytocenotic connections are considered by the authors as one of the most important con-ditions for the conservation of rare and vulnerable species in the natural environment and are characterized through the connection of these species with the syntaxon of floristic vegetation classification having a defined ecological volume and characteristic of specific habitats. Visualization of propagation data for the species studied was done using MapInfo Professional 15.0 by grid-based mapping.

Ephemeral floodplain vegetation communities and meadows dominated by Petasites spurius are studied on the south taiga reaches of the Ob River, Tomsk Region, Russia. The ephemeral floodplain vegetation is identified as association Rorippo dogadovae-Limoselletum aquaticae Taran 2005 (Eleocharition soloniensis Philippi 1968, Nanocyperetalia Klika 1935, Isoëto-Nanojuncetea Br.-Bl. et Tx. in Br.-Bl. et al. 1952). On the north of the south taiga reach of the Ob River, the association is represented by subassociation R.d.-L.a. rumicetosum ucranici Taran 2005 and its new variant: Juncus nastanthus var. nov. On the south of the south taiga reach of the Ob River, peculiar ephemeral plant communities are spread. They are described as R.d.-L.a. juncetosum nastanthi Taran in Taran, Tyurin et Dyachenko subass. nov. The meadows dominated by Petasites spurius are spread on the Ob River sandy banks from Krasnyy Yar village on the south to Kolpashevo town on the north. They are described as Physcomitrello patentis-Petasitetum spurii Taran, Tyurin et Dyachenko ass. nov. (Agrostio stoloniferae-Equisetion arvensis Taran 1997, Oenanthetalia aquaticae Hejný in Kopecký et Hejný 1965, Phrag-mito-Magnocaricetea Klika in Klika et Novak 1941).

Data on a floristic diversity of the Muranskij forest (the Middle Volga region) – large island massif of pine and pine-broad-leaved forests are presented. A total of 702 species of vascular plants belonging to 93 families and 371 genera are registered. 52 species are included in the Red Data Book of Samara region. Dynamics of floristic composition for the period from 1898 to 2017 is analyzed. Increase of floristic richness is revealed which is accompanied by the naturalisation of alien species.

The article provides information on floristic findings made in the territory of Auliekol district (Kostanai region, Republic of Kazakhstan) in 2017. 106 species are registered, including 9 alien species belonging to 84 genera and 36 families. The absolute majority of species is native (97 species). The group of alien plants is extremely small and consists of only 9 species (Convolvulus arvensis , Conyza canadensis, Fragaria × ananassa, Hordeum jubatum, Medicago sativa , Oenothera salicifolia, Panicum miliaceum, Sonchus arvensis ). For each species a characteristic is given, including information on its occurrence in the study area and bioecological features.
