Organizational climate is a relatively enduring quality of the internal environment of an organization and is the recurring patterns of behavior, attitudes and feelings that characterize life in the organization. Organizational culture is a system of shared assumptions, values and beliefs that governs how people behave in organizations. The culture of an organization provides boundaries and guidelines that help members of the organization know the correct way to perform their jobs. The study was conducted on 334 primary school teachers from Medak district of Telangana State. The result reveals that there is a significant difference in Organizational climate with respect to gender and management among primary school teachers.

The purpose of this study was to measure anxiety level in youth, who study in higher secondary school. In this research paper “Sinha’s Comprehensive Anxiety Test” (SCAT) was used. The random sample (N=125) was taken from the school. (59 Male And 66 Female ). “ t ” Test was calculated to find out the result. The “ t ” value of “Sinha’s Comprehensive Anxiety Test” of school students comes to 4.45 which is significant at 0.01 level. This shows that, there is significant difference between youth (Male and Female) school students On Anxiety Test. Whereas Male and Female school students differ in respect of anxiety. The detail results are indicated in the paper.

‘Ageing’ is a multidimensional process of physical, psychological, and social change. There occurs systematic stereotyping and discrimination against people because they are old. Ageist attitudes may perpetuate in many ways leading to a variety of psychological consequences. The present study aims to explore qualitatively; myths, attitudes and stereotypes towards old age. A sample of 10 participants was selected; 5 each from the age group of 18 to 30 years and 65 to 85 years, respectively. The themes were explored using semi-structured interviews which were analysed thematically. Findings indicate certain commonalities and differences in the ways the two age- varying groups perceive ageing which has an implication on the relationship between the two groups.

The study was conducted on a sample of 320 high school students situated in Ranchi District. The main purpose of this research work has to see the impact of parental behaviour on adolescent’s frustration level. Three dimensional parental behaviour inventory developed by Ojha( 2009) and Frustration test developed by Chauhan and Tiwari (1972) were used for data collection work. The stratified random sampling technique was used during data collection. The main results indicate that adolescents having restrictive parents experience significantly more frustration as compared to adolescents having permissive parents. Result further revealed that restrictive father groups are more frustrated than permissive groups (‘t’=2.82;P<0.01).

Objective: - Suicide is third leading cause of death among modern youth and second leading cause of death among college students. The present study examined effect of gender and faculty on suicidal tendency among students. Method: - This study is based on sample of 100 students divided into two groups 50 males and 50 females. In each group 25 students have science & 25 have arts subjects. Samples were selected through sample random sampling method. The suicidal tendency among the students was measured by Suicidal Tendency Scale constructed by Dr. D. J. Bhatt and Dr. R. G. Meghnathi. Mean & ANOVA were applied for data analysis. Results: - The results of the present study demonstrated that female student’s shows high suicidal tendency than male students as the mean score of female students (74.38) is more than mean score of male students (71.06). Results also revealed that students from science faculty have also high suicidal tendency than arts students as the obtained mean scores of science students (76.88) is more than mean scores of students of arts faculty (68.56). Conclusions: - Female and science students have high suicidal tendency than male students and arts students.

The present study was conducted with the aim to examine the relationship between internet addiction and psychological well-being among youth of Kashmir and to find out the difference in both addiction and psychological well-being among youth of Kashmir with respect to gender and residential status. 100 students studying in various colleges of two districts of Kashmir (Srinagar and Ganderbal) completed the Young’s Internet addiction test (Young, 1998) and Ryff’s Psychological well-being scale (Ryff, 1995). Results of the study revealed a significant negative correlation between internet addiction and psychological well-being among youth of Kashmir. Further it was found that there is significant difference in internet addiction among youth of Kashmir with respect to their gender, males were found to be high on internet addiction than their counter parts and no significant difference was found in internet addiction with respect to their residential status. Results also revealed insignificant difference in psychological well-being among male and female youth and regarding their residential status significant difference was found in psychological well-being, urban youth were found to be high on the levels of psychological well being as compared to rural youth. The study will be helpful in highlighting the effect of internet addiction among youth which is becoming a menace day by day for society.

Teachers are building block of a nation. Teacher’s role is very crucial in the growth of a country so that there is need to assess for improvement of their skills. The present study deals with job satisfaction among the teachers of private and public sector educational institute of west Bengal. Attempts were also made to assess their level of happiness and quality of inter personal relationship. The sample size was 100 divided into 2 groups i.e., private sector and public sector teacher. Each group was consisted respondents age ranging between 25-50 years and having minimum 2 years of job experience and each group was further divided into two sub groups i.e. male (n=25) and female (n=25). The data were collected from teaching employees of several private and public educational institutes (higher secondary schools, colleges, universities) of west Bengal. It reveals that public sector employees were found to be more satisfied than the private sector employees in their job and the similar result was also revealed for level of happiness and quality of interpersonal relationship. Furthermore, significant correlation has been found between job satisfaction and level of happiness and between job satisfaction and interpersonal relationship among the teachers of private and public sector institutes of west Bengal.

In every classroom there are some children who have some learning problems. They need a little extra help from teachers to learn. Inclusive education refers to instruction that is specially designed to meet the needs of the exceptional children. It involves designing the physical environment in the classroom (use of ramps) teaching procedures, teaching content and equipment for a particular type of disability. In this case its implementation is not an easy task; it needs thorough investigation, understanding its aims and principles and taking consistent and appropriate measures to make it successful. Schools are currently undergoing a process of reconstructed educational practice and thinking. The key principles presented in this section centre upon aspects of educational systems, to be crucial in promoting quality in inclusive education and supporting the learners with different types of special educational needs (SEN). These aspects range from national legislation to school level, each of which must be considered within policy frameworks for promoting quality in the inclusive education. Seven inter-connected areas of key principles are presented in detail along with specific recommendations that appear to be necessary for their effective implementation. The ultimate goal of these key principles is to promote participation in inclusive education by ensuring quality educational provision. With this in mind, the key principles are widening participation, Education and training; Organizational culture, Support Structures, Flexible resourcing system, Policies and Legislation can be seen to work towards this goal.

The present research was conducted in order to understand the occupational stress faced by the police personnel of Gujarat state and their levels of Job satisfaction with their lives. A total sample of 120 (60 males and 60 females) were taken for the study. Out of the 120 sample, 60 were armed and 60 were Unarmed Police Offices. Occupational Stress scale developed by A.K Shrivastava and A. P. Singh and Job Satisfaction scale developed by Singh and Sharma were used to gather data. The analysis of data was completed using t-test. The results of this study indicate that there is no significant difference in Occupational stress of Armed and Unarmed Police officers and similarly there is no significant difference in Occupational stress of Male and Female Police officers of both the groups. Moreover there is no significant difference in job satisfaction level of Armed and Unarmed Police officers. There is a significant difference in Job satisfaction level of Male and Female Police officers which indicates that Female police officers have higher levels of Job satisfaction than Male Police officers.

Disaster is defined as a crisis situation causing wide spread damage which far exceeds our ability to recover. Disaster is a sudden, calamitous event bringing great damage, loss, destruction and devastation to life and property. The damage caused by disaster is immeasurable and varies with the geographical location, climate and the type of the earth surface. Natural disasters are relatively sudden and cause large scale, widespread death, loss of property and disturbance to social systems and life over which people have a little or no control. Thus, any event can be classed as disaster when the magnitude of destruction and damage caused by it is very high. Communities will always face natural hazards, but today’s disasters are often generated by, or at least exacerbated by, human activities. At the most dramatic level, human activities are changing the natural balance of the earth, interfering as never before with the atmosphere, the oceans, the polar ice caps, the forest cover and the natural pillars that make our world a liveable home. But we are also putting ourselves in harm’s way in less visible ways. This paper seeks to determine the natural disasters, causes and consequences and its prevention. Nature is bountiful full of resources used by the living organisms use for their survival and well-being. But nature has its own control systems. Resources used up are replenished excesses are checked, all naturally through the biogeochemical cycles, the food chains and webs and other natural phenomena. Thus equilibrium is maintained in nature. This is called ecological balance and has in recent times been disturbed by human activities.

Mathematics is a compulsory subject at school level. The performance of students in mathematics is not satisfactory at secondary school level. Some of the factors that are attributed to the unsatisfactory performance include: anxiety and fear towards the subject by students, ineffective instructional methods, class room climate and learning environment which are not supportive for students’ participation. The purpose of the study was to investigate the effect of cooperative learning strategy in mathematics on students’ performance from positive psychology perspective. In addition to performance this study also sought to find out students perception towards cooperative learning strategy. The sample of the study consisted of 60 students divided in to two groups of 30.In the experimental group cooperative learning strategy was employed while in the controlled group traditional instructional method was used. Scholastic achievement test and Questionnaire on cooperative learning was used to collect the data. Data was analysed by using statistical techniques including “t” test. The study supports the effectiveness of cooperative learning strategy in mathematics education.

A structured behaviour modification programme relatively improves the various skill behaviours among children with intellectual disabilities as well as decreases the problematic behaviours, when it is used in a systematic way in school classrooms. Present study represents the effect of systematic representation of differential reinforcements to decrease the problematic behaviours among the children with intellectual disabilities. The main objective of the present study was to study the effect of differential reinforcements in decreasing problematic behaviours among children with intellectual disability. This study was conducted on the sample of twenty students, selected from the Regional Institute for Mentally Handicapped Chandigarh, with informed consent of parents with pre selected inclusion and exclusion criteria and randomly assigned to the two groups. Experimental group was treated by the experimenter with intervention package after pre test up to 60 sessions and control group was remained untreated. After the treatment and analysis, experimenter found that students of experimental group who treated with the treatment package have significant decrease in problematic behaviours with t value 8.450, in comparison to control group.

Background of the study: This paper aims to find out the effects of Yoga, Exercise and Prayers on the quality of life of people. It is found that people who regularly practice yoga or do exercise and indulge in continuous prayers which is a kind of meditation are healthier and living a peaceful life. It gives them an inner strength which is helpful in leading a quality of life. Practising yoga or exercise and the daily prayers unites the mind and the heart of the individual and people are able to perceive the inner and outer world more positively. Material and Method: 30 subjects aged 18-60 years who regularly practice yoga or any exercise and indulge in regular prayer will be randomly taken and the questionnaire of WHO quality of life (WHOQOL-BREF) will be administered. Result and Discussion: The result of this study shows that there is a positive effect of yoga, exercise and prayer on the quality of life. Individuals who practise yoga, exercise and indulge in daily prayers are more satisfied healthy and there is a connection between their mind and body.

Objective: To assess the effectiveness of guided imaginary techniques on examination anxiety among the school adolescent’s. Methods: The sample consisted of 60 students (30 were in control group and 30 were in experimental group) aged 14 to 16 years studying in class IX and X at matriculation schools in Madurai. The examination anxiety was measured using Test Anxiety Questionnaire. Results: Of the 30 control group students, 63% had unhealthy anxiety in pretest and in post test it was 70%, whereas in experimental group, among the 30 students, 57% had unhealthy anxiety in pretest but in post test it was 0%, there is no unhealthy anxiety. There was a significant difference seen between control group and experimental group after teaching the imagery techniques. (Mean score in control group - 34.93, in experimental group - 17.83, P < 0.000). Conclusion: The results indicate that guided imagery technique is effective in reducing the examination anxiety among school students. And it will help to reduce anxiety of students at all levels of examination to perform good in their academic especially in board examination. Further research may help in guide policy on education to improve the teaching methodology allowing the students to control the anxiety on exam.

Out of total sample of the study 72.7 % adolescents were homozygous and 76.7 % were heterozygous. Male and females of Age group 14-16 years were maximum number. Percentage of heterozygous males complaining somatic problems is higher, whereas percentage of homozygous females complaining somatic problems is high. There is significant positive relationship between Maladaptive coping style and somatic problems. Somatic problems emerge as significant predictor in variation of criterion variable somatic problems. The t values explain significant difference in somatic complaints among sickle cell adolescents with respect to gender and zygosity.

Neuro-psychological assessment of the suspect by applying Brain electrical oscillation signature profiling (Brain mapping)test to verify BEOS principle. BEOS test is applicable in forensic field for detection of a person as suspect, accused, witness or complainant. BEOS is based on EEG and its principle is neuro-psychology. Neuro-psychological criteria of BEOS system contains Experiential Knowledge (EK), Primary processing (PP), Encoding (EN), Emotional Response (ER), Activation Suppression (AS), Inattention (IN) ; etc. “32” electrodes EEG cap to be attached to a suspect and REM electrodes for rotatory eyes moment to be attached. An EEG gel to be fill for better conductivity. Civil and criminal cases examined on BEOS system. As per NHRC guidelines a person willingly gave written consent to undergo for BEOS test as well as person’s jurisdictional court order to conduct a BEOS test is mandatory. Case related audio-visual pre-recorded probes presented to the suspect. Probes framed as neutral, general neutral and relevant point of view. A suspect has to seat in isolated room and he need not to give answer to the presented probes. “Right to remain silent” these constitutional rights are safe for suspect. BEOS system does automatic EEG analysis and generates result in the form of Experiential Knowledge, Primary processing, Encoding, Emotional Response, Activation Suppression, Inattention. Around 1420 sample of probes taken for neuro-psychological assessment. U/s: 302 of IPC’s real cases were taken and four person examined. Changes in the different frequency bands have different meaning in terms of cognitive and neuro psychological processing. In all four person’s BEOS automated result, i found Experiential Knowledge, Primary processing, Encoding, Emotional Response, Activation Suppression, Inattention shows different sum of digits. On that bases my first hypothesis depict wrong because BEOS is not analyzing total result. Result depends on person’s fact of story and his involvement in the offense and these makes difference in the result of EK, PP, EN, ER, A Supp, and Inattention. Sum of four person’s result percentile shows above 95% suspect was aware during the BEOS test, so my second hypothesis “BEOS principle is neuro-psychology, it is baseless principle; which Ho is rejected because suspect was neuro-psychologically aware during BEOS test so that their results of EK, PP, EN, ER, A Supp, Inattention counted different values as per their involvement. NABL Scope of Accreditation report mentioned that BEOS test is for verification of veracity of statement of the suspect, accused, witness, complainant and victim. BEOS instrument’s range of testing and limits of detection is .99 (200). These research supports NABL scope report of BEOS range testing limits and makes confirmation that BEOS principle is neuro-psychology which is true.

The present study was to examine a cross cultural study on aggression in a group of college students from west Bengal and Jammu & Kashmir. Cluster sampling procedure was taken for the selection of sample total 491 college students (both male & female) in the study. The ex-post facto correlation design was used and results showed that there is relationship between experience & expression of aggression and each of the variables, namely, personality, frustration, parental bonding and perceived life stress.

Background: 2 decades of research had found that comorbid disorders occur in children with ADHD more than by chance. The role of comorbidities in influencing the self-esteem of children with ADHD is still less explored. Aims: To study the various domains of self-esteem in children with ADHD and to evaluate the effect of comorbidities on low self-esteem in ADHD children. Methods And Materials: 60 subjects aged 6 to 16 years who were diagnosed based on DSM IV as ADHD were recruited with informed consent, from tertiary care hospital for a period of 6 months by consecutive sampling. Based on detailed interview of subjects and parents using the Semi structured assessment schedule K- SADS - PL for comorbidities, children with ADHD were grouped as those with and without comorbidities. While severity of ADHD was assessed by Conner’s Parent’s 10 item abbreviated index, self-esteem was assessed by Culture free self-esteem inventory. Results: Parent related self-esteem was lower in ADHD children with comorbid internalizing disorders when compared to ADHD children with comorbid externalizing disorders. Higher severity of ADHD and longer duration of ADHD correlated with lower self-esteem, (especially social domain). Conclusions: Comorbidities definitely influence the level of self-esteem in children with ADHD, but other factors also need to be considered for optimal management of low self-esteem.

The aim of the study was to study the emotional intelligence, anger and coping strategy among chronic kidney (CKD) disease patients. A sample of 60 (30 male, 30 female) selected from various hospitals of Pune city. The tools used for the study were Emotional intelligence scale (Thingujam and Ram, 2000), STAXI-II (Speilberger, 1999) and Ways of coping questionnaire (Lazarus and Folkman, 1988). After the data collection statistical analysis was done by Pearson product-moment correlation and‘t test’. The result found that there is a negative correlation between emotional intelligence and trait anger. It also found a positive correlation between problem focused coping and emotional intelligence. This study also suggested that female patients are higher on emotional intelligence and problem focused coping strategy than male patients. The findings of the study could provide a better understanding of chronic kidney patients’ mental state and their well-being.

The purpose of the present investigation is to study the relation between meaning in life, hope and resilience. A sample of 60 subjects (30 males and 30 females), the age range of 18-30 years were administered the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC), Adult Hope scale (Snyder) and Meaning in life Questionnaire (Steger, 2006). Suitable statistical technique to be used to study the relationship between the three variables.

Introduction: Stuttering is a developmental speech disorder with multiple etiological factors. Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) has shown effectiveness in reducing anxiety symptoms and dysfluent speech in adults who stutter (AWS). So we planned to study the comparative efficacy of CBT and CBT combined with mindfulness training (MT) in AWS. Aims: The aim of this preliminary study was to examine and compare the efficacy of CBT and CBT combined with MT in reducing anxiety symptoms, and dysfluent speech and increasing communication attitude, quality of life, self-esteem and speech fluency in AWS. Method and Materials: A matched two group pre-test and post-test interventional design was employed. The sample consisted of ten adults with the diagnosis of stuttering (ICD-10, 1992) who were randomly allotted to Group One (CBT; N=5) and Group Two (CBT+MT; N=5). The therapeutic program included 15-20 sessions of one hour each. Statistical Analysis: Obtained data was analyzed using Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test for within group, before and after intervention, comparison and Mann Whitney U Test for between group comparisons. Results: Significant difference in both CBT group and CBT+MT group is observed in the area of communication attitude (U=1.00, p<0.05). Conclusion: The finding of the study show that CBT combined with MT is more effective in treatment of AWS than CBT alone.

This theoretical endeavor reviews the historical perspective of quality of work life, nature and definitions of quality of work life, dimensions of quality of work life, construct of quality of work life, components of quality of work life and approaches and scopes of quality of work life. This article also explores some important aspects of Muslim female employee where quality of work life has positive effects. The article concludes with vibrant implications of quality of work life in any organization which is in thrust of development.

The purpose of the current study was (i) to find out the role self-efficacy and locus of control of the high and low performing job aspirants (ii) to study the Gender differences of the job aspirants. A random sample of 465 job aspirants males (n=264) and females (n=201) was selected from participants appeared in the Service Selection Board of Mysore. Participants belong to various part of India and their age ranges were between 20 to 27 years with Mean of 21.85 years and SD 1.15 years. Self-efficacy was measured using the General Self-efficacy Scale by Jerusalem & Schwarzer, 1995) and the Locus of Control Scale by Rotter, J.B (1966). The data was analyzed using descriptive statistics (mean, S.D) and ANOVA. The results indicated that there were no significant differences in their self-efficacy of performing and non-performing groups. Further no significant gender differences were found in Self-efficacy. In addition both men and women were differed in their Locus of control and females were found to be external locus of control. The study brought out that high self-efficacy with internal locus of control influence the participants perform well in their field to attain success.

Spirituality is considered culturally competent therapeutic intervention for domestic violence survivors. Limited number of studies have specifically emphasized at their experiences and needs. Women with abusive life partners use various strategies to cope , deal and heal from the physical and psychological violence. It is reported that their belief in a higher power is integral to their healing. Thus to study the role of spirituality as a tool for healing among domestic violence survivors , a sample of 50 married women who survived domestic violence were examined. For this purpose, the Revised Conflict Tactics scale (CTS-2; Straus, Hamby, Boney-McCoy & Sugarman, 1996); Daily Spiritual experiences Scale (DSE; Underwood &Teresi, 2002) and Beck Depression Inventory for depressive symptoms were used. Results indicate significant role of spirituality in healing women survivors. The majority reported that spirituality or God was a source of strength or comfort for them. Extent of spiritual involvement indicated increased psychological well-being and decreased depression.

The purpose of the present study is to assess the Effectiveness of Relaxation Techniques among Housewives. Based on the purposive sampling technique 30 housewives were selected from Agartala town. A proper rapport was established with the housewives and socio-demographic profile was noted. Kindler Stress Assessment Inventory was presented to the housewives. Then the steps of Relaxation techniques were administered to the housewives and they were instructed to practice daily for 4 weeks. After the completion of 4 weeks, the Somatic symptoms, Psychological symptoms and Stress resilience were again assessed with the help of Kindler Stress Assessment Inventory. Results indicated that there is reduction in the level of stress among the housewives after applying Relaxation techniques.

There is much interest in, whether death anxiety may explain the wide variability in the disease course of patients infected with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). This paper examines whether death anxiety varies across Asymptomatic Acute HIV condition, Clinically Symptomatic Condition and AIDS Indicator Condition. A cross sectional research design is employed and participants were grouped as having asymptomatic, clinically symptomatic and AIDS according to case definitions established by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The data is obtained from 480 participants on the level of death anxiety and it is analysed with reference of their disease progression from HIV to AIDS. A one way ANOVA statistics indicated that Asymptomatic acute HIV condition, Clinically symptomatic HIV condition and AIDS indicator groups were significantly differ in the level of death anxiety. A Tukey’s HSD post-hoc test indicated that clinically symptomatic acute HIV condition group had exhibited higher level of death anxiety than asymptomatic acute HIV condition group and lower level of death anxiety compared to AIDS indicator group. By knowing the varied level of death anxiety across disease progression the tailor made interventions can be planned.

Introduction: Cognitive impairment is the core feature in several chronic mental illnesses like schizophrenia and bipolar mood disorder. Its effect permeates to areas like work, social relationships and capacity for independent living. It determines the rate of rehabilitation and there lies the need to study cognitive retraining as a measure of effectiveness for psychiatric rehabilitation. Method: A sample of 10 patients was chosen for the study educated upto a minimum of Vth Grade and aged between 30-45 years. All ten patients were assessed prior to intervention and post intervention on Brief Psychiatric Rating Scale, Global Assessment of Functioning and selected tests from NIMHANS neuropsychological battery for adults (Color trails test, Stroop test, NBack test and WCST). Five patients were randomly selected for cognitive retraining (12 sessions for 4 weeks, 3 sessions each week for one hour). Results & Conclusion: The analysis of scores at post intervention suggested no statistically significant differences in performance of intervention group and control group in the areas of attention, working memory, response inhibition and set shifting. However differences in mean for time taken on color trails and total correct scores, total errors and overall stroop effect, indicates a positive trend for improvement in these functions in the intervention group post cognitive retraining. The one month intervention duration is a likely limiting factor.

The study was undertaken to identify the sources of stress among students of high and low academic performance. The questionnaire was administered on 656 pure science and applied science under graduate students from Bangalore city. Academic performance is referred to the end-term results in the previous semester. The tool used for the present study was Stressful Life Events Inventory - Student form (Rao, 1986). The findings of the study showed that majority of the students’ perceived education as more stressful. High and low academic performing students as well as pure and applied science course students differed significantly on sources of stress. Implications and suggestions of the study were discussed with teachers and an enrichment program on stress management was employed.

This study was performed aimed to compare the executive functioning and difficulties with emotional regulation in addicts with high and low borderline personality traits. The plan of the study was causal- comparative. The research sample population consisted of all men who had drug abuse in 2013 who referred to addiction centers. 80 addicted persons were selected by available sampling and by using questionnaire of borderline personality traits (STB) in two groups of 40 as abusers with high and low borderline traits. The Wisconsin Card Sorting Test and the scale of difficulty in emotional regulation of the two groups were performed. Then data were analyzed in SPSS Version 20 using multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) and test LSD. The results showed that addicts with a high proportion of borderline traits, have a poorer performance than addicts with low borderlines attributes in the Wisconsin Card Sorting Test and the number of retained in perseveration (P =0/010) and total error (P=0/002) is higher. Also abusers with higher borderline traits, have higher scores in the emotional difficulties regulation (P = 0/002) than addicts with low borderline of traits. The results showed that the addicts with a high boundary characteristic have poorer performance in executive functioning and higher levels of emotional difficulties in emotional regulation that this may be the result of the impact of drug dependency on their neurological function that may lead to weaker performance of these people compared to low borderline traits addicts.

The present study explores the link between organizational climate and psychological well being. It seeks to examine the differences in these two constructs based on varied demographic variables. Organizational Climate Inventory (OCI) developed by, Chattopadhay, Agarwal (2006) has been used to assess employee’s perceptions of organizational climate. Psychological Well Being is being measured with the help of Psychological Well Being Scale developed by Ryff (1995). Sample for the study comprised of 180 employees from Vedanta Ltd. The results indicate that there is a significant positive correlation between organizational climate and psychological well being. There is no significant difference observed in organizational climate and psychological well being as a result of demographic variables. The study also discusses theoretical and practical implications for the managers.

Students in the modern and fast changing world are trying to choose their career in such a way which would ultimately help them to achieve their success in life. Career choice is a major life decision. Each and every individual is coping with dynamic world and its demands. The present investigation has been designed to study the personality factors and impact of parental and social influence on career choice of the students who want to choose their career as engineer. Accordingly, a group of 120 higher secondary students (under West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education) were selected as sample in this investigation. On the other hand, another group of 30 professionals who are engaged in the profession as engineer were also selected as sample in this investigation. Four tools, viz., (a) General Information Schedule (one for the students and the other for professionals), (b) Sixteen Personality Factors [Form-C] Questionnaire (1965), (c) Perceived Impact of Parental Influence Questionnaire and (d) Perceived Impact of Social Influence Questionnaire were used in this investigation. The overall findings reveal that those who want to choose their career as engineer is matched with the professionals. Personality factors take a vital role regarding career choice. The findings also reveal that there seems to be indication of moderate level of parental as well as social influence on career choice. Besides this, monthly income of the family and gender difference also have significant role in connection with career choice. Adequate measures may be taken by parents, teachers, counselors and other well-wishers who are able to help the students to choose a particular career for their future development.

Objectives: Obesity is now fast growing, major public health concern in many countries worldwide, including India. Predictors of obesity range from biological, behavioral factors to socioeconomic and contextual factors. Studies of personality as a psychological predictor of obesity are scarce and contradictory so the present study aimed to assess whether personality can predict obesity or not. Methods: A sample of 60 individuals within the age group 18-40years (mean=25.73±2.86) was selected using purposive sampling, divided into obese and non-obese groups on the basis of Body Mass Index (BMI), with 30 individuals in each group. The sample was assessed on the basis of NEO Five Factor Inventory (McCrae & Costa, 1991) and Self-Concept Inventory (Shah, 1986). Logistic regression and t-test were computed. Results: The two groups differed significantly in the various domains of personality and self concept. Personality traits of Openness (O), Extraversion (E) and emotional, cognitive and political self concept were found to be major predictors of obesity. Conclusions: The findings indicate psychological traits are connected to the evolution of obesity. This makes necessary to assess and consider such psychological aspects for the appropriate treatment of such patients.

The literature cites multiple definitions for religiosity, with little consensus among researchers. Religiosity has been associated with a myriad of positive outcomes in both adolescents and adults. Religiosity refers to the degree to which a person adheres to his or her religious values, beliefs and practices and uses them in daily life. Religiosity is still an emerging concept in the developing countries such as India, though rich culture has enriched in the past. Confining to various definitions of Religiosity the study attempts to evolve a Religious belief System scale in an Indian context. With exploration of literature and expert reviews, various attributes of belief System scale was initiated with a pool of 164 items. These items were subjected to experts’ opinion and reduced to 136. The scale was administered on a sample of 456 participants and the item analysis was carried out the having more than 0.35and above value were retained for factor analysis. After initial factor analyses the scale was again administered on a sample of 550 participants. The principal component analyses were employed and 48 items were retained covering three factor i.e. Belief, Attitude and values. The measure demonstrated high internal consistency and good test-retest reliability as well as validity.

Conclusion- The main purpose of the present study is investigated that, to know the impact on family due to presence of Mental retarded child in the family. The presence of child with Mental retardation affects their social, emotional, economical, and psychological aspects were affected in the mental retarded children.

Current scenario of crime rate in India is increasing day by day. Increasing of crime rate in India depicts an extremely poor condition of our country law and order. According to national crime bureau (NCRB), ministry of home affairs, Government of India, during 2010, a total of 67,50,748 cognizable crimes comprising 22,24,831 Indian Panel Code crimes (IPC) crimes and 45,25,917 special and local laws( SLL) crimes were reported that there was an increase of 1.1% over 2009 (66,75,217). According to Indian Penal Code crime rate has increased by 3.9% over 2009. Crime rate from 1953-2011 shows that crimes such as dacoity and burglary/house breaking has been decreased by 59 years but crimes such as murdered, rape, kidnapping and abduction, robbery and riots have been increasing day by day. Murder has increased by 250.0% (from 9,802 in 1953 to 34,305 in 2011), rape 873.3% (from 2,487 in 1971 to 24,206 in 2011), kidnapping and abduction by 749% (from 5,261 in 1953 to 44,664 in 2011) and riots by 233.7% (from 20,529 in 1953 to 68,500 in 2011).
