The aim of the present study was to find out the gender difference in conscientiousness and to study the impact of marital status difference in conscientiousness among call-center employees. The sample for the present study consisted of 200 call-center employees. 100 male employees (50 married & 50 unmarried) and 100 female employees (50 married & 50 unmarried). Call-center employees were selected randomly from various call-center of Vadodara city in Gujarat. Conscientiousness scale constructed by John, Donahue & Kentle, 1991; cited in John & Srivastava, 1999: 122, was used to measure conscientiousness trait among male/female and married/unmarried call-center employees. The data was analyzed in terms of mean, SD, and F-test. The result of F-test revealed significant difference in conscientiousness between male and female call-center employees. Male were conscientious than female call-center employees. Further analysis was carried out to know marital status effect on conscientiousness, result revealed no significant difference between married and unmarried call-center employees.

Tobacco use is a multi- dimensional and a worldwide problem with an alarming increase in its incidences. Adolescence continuing use of tobacco is major public health problem in India. The present study was attempted to study the personality traits of tobacco users (TU) than tobacco non-users (TNU) students. The purposive sampling method was adopted to select the sample. The sample consisted of 100 subject with tobacco users (n=50) and non-users (n=50) were selected from different schools and colleges of Jamnagar city of Gujarat state. The tools used were Eysenck’s Personality Inventory, gujarati version. Student-T test was used to analyses the data. The present study revealed that there is significant difference between student tobacco users and non-users on Neuroticism and Extraversion dimensions of personality. Student tobacco users score higher on both dimensions of personality than non-users. Conclusion: when tobacco prevention and intervention program are developed, these personality traits should be consider in addition to physiological aspects.

Present research has done to know the effect of Working and Non Working Women on Emotional Maturity. For this Total number of sample was 60 in which 30 working women from the age group of 20 to 40 years. And 30 non working women were taken the same age group. For the data collection Emotional maturity scale developed by Roma Pal (1988) was used for data analysis and concluded result „t‟ test was used. For this dimension implies that in positive sense there was significant difference between working and non working women. The result indicate the working women significantly differ on Emotional maturity score as compared to non working women ,working women have shown better Emotional Maturity compared to non working women .

The Purpose of the present research paper is to highlight the mental health status of employed and unemployed young technical personnel who were recently employed and also on those who remain unemployed. Mental health status was measured by M.M.H.S.I. developed by Kumar and Thakur (1986). t-test was used to find out significant difference. Results obtained by t-test showed that young technical personnel who were employed have better mental health as compared to those who were not employed. Results were interpreted in terms of Indian socio-cultural milieu.

Data was collected by face to face interview method from the target population from different originations of Anand district. Mean, standard deviation and t-test were calculated for the analysis of data. Results indicate that there is no significant difference among government and private employees in job satisfaction.

Results revealed that there is no significant difference between secondary and higher secondary school teachers on Self-esteem.

The goal of the present study was to note the effect of the gender (Male/ Female) and residential area (Rural/ Urban) on the suicide tendency of students. In view to above purpose the sample of 120 was selected by random sampling method. Suicide tendency Inventory standardized by Dr. G. R. Meghnathi (2002) Among the Students of Rajkot city and from its rural areas, was referred to have data regarding their suicide tendency and all the tow individual factors, obtained information was statistically analyzed by„t‟-test effects were discovered. According to the results show that there is significant difference existed between male and female students, „t‟-value 1.96 has been found significant at 0.05 level. So we concluded that female students showed higher level of suicide tendency then male students. Showed significant effect of area on suicide tendency. The„t‟-value 3.39 has been found significant at 0.01 level. So we concluded that urban students showed higher level of suicide tendency then rural students.

Background: Now-a-days, almost all the old age homes (OAHs) in India are fully occupied with residents. Why Indian elderly have to reside in old age homes? It was explored during the Ph.D. study titled „A Study of Psychiatric Morbidity, Quality of Life and Expectations of Inmates of Old Age Homes in Northern India‟. The object of this study was to explore the factors compelling elderly to reside in old age homes. Methods: This study was carried out on 174 elderly residing in 14 different OAHs of Uttar Pradesh, India. Factors responsible for their settlement in OAHs were explored using interview method. Results: Misbehaviour of son and daughters-in-law (29.8%) was found to be most common reasons for residing in old age home. Conclusions: Many elderly in India are opting OAHs as their place of stay in their later life. Foreseeing the future the government and voluntary agencies in India must make arrangements for institutional support and care for the elderly.

Low salary and job insecurity is becoming a serious problem and job attitude of Employees is changing and less satisfaction has been seen. In present study researcher has comprises the mood states to nature of employment and area of working place of police and civil employees in Aurangabad district. Main objectives of the present research are to study the mood states of employees serving in police and civil departments and study the mood states of urban and rural employees serving in police and civil departments. It was two hypotheses formulated that, there will be significant differences in mood states of police and civil employees and there would be significant differences in mood states of urban and rural employees serving in police and civil depts. The 400 police and civil employees were chosen by successive purposive sampling method from urban and rural area of Aurangabad district. Mood states questionnaire used (Dr. Mahesh Bhargva and Dr. S.D. Kapoor) for data collection. Two way ANOVA used for data analysis and results found that the significantly differences (df=1,396, P<0.01) on mood states of employees. Hence concluded that area of working and nature of employment significantly impact on mood states of employees.

Adjustment refers to the process by which an individual makes an adequate relationship with his environment and satisfies his needs. M.R. Rastogi‟s Self Concept Scale and Global Adjustment Inventory of Psy-com services was used for obtaining data. The sample consisted of 120 married women with age range 30- 45 years selected by means of purposive random technique of sampling. Regression analysis and t-test was used to analyze data. Results indicated that self concept influences adjustment of women positively.

Meditation is an intensely personal and spiritual experience. The purpose of meditation technique is to channel awareness in positive direction by concentrating on inner self. A study was carried out to study the effect of meditation on stress management of IBS patients. Stress management scale constructed by Singh and Srivastava was administrated to patients consisted of 80 IBS patients of between age group of 20-40 years,2 groups were taken one –who meditated (experimental group ) and one who did not meditate (controlled group ). For analysis of data t-test is run. Result showed that patients showed better stress management in the group of patients who meditated in comparison to controlled group who did not meditate.

Background: Diabetes is a highly prevalent disease worldwide, characterized by increased blood sugar levels. Growing evidences revealed the strong association of diabetes and psychological disorders like anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, etc. Mindfulness is the awareness which arises out of intentionally attending in an open and discerning way to whatever is arising in the present moment, is positively associated with healthy condition. Impulsivity is a predisposition toward rapid, unplanned reactions to internal or external stimuli without regard to the negative consequences of these reactions to the impulsive individual or to others which is negatively associated with the individual’s health. Aim: This study was intended to see the association of mindfulness, impulsivity with diabetes. Method and material: Two hundred subjects (100= diabetic and 100=non diabetic) from local communities were enrolled in this study. All the subjects were administered Mindfulness, attention and awareness scale (MAAS) and Barrat impulsivity scale. The results: There was a significant low MAAS score and significantly higher Barrat impulsivity scores in the diabetic group than in a non diabetic group. Conclusion: Diabetic people have more impulsivity and less mindfulness state than non diabetic people.

The present study was designed to investigate the relationship between learning resources management strategies and academic achievement. And also to find out the differences between high and low achievers, gender differences, and differences between science and humanities students. To conduct the study, 100 students from class IX and class X were selected purposively. The translated Bangla version (Khanam & Ahmed, 2014) of the „Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire‟ (Pintrich, Smith, Garcia, & McKeachie, 1991) was administered to collect data. Students‟ academic achievement was measured by their last academic results. Findings revealed that academic achievement was significantly correlated with time and study environment management, effort management, and seeking help from qualified others. High achievers were differed from low achievers in using time and study environment management, effort management, peer learning, and seeking help from qualified others. No gender differences exited in learning resources management strategies. Science group students were significantly differed from humanities‟ students in time and study environment management, and peer learning.

In each group has 150 pharmaceutical employees and other one groups has 150 engineering employees. Scale was use for data collection is personal datasheet and Emotional quotient test scale developed by dilipsingh and nkchadha (2003), 2x2x3 factorial design was used and data were analysis by „F‟ test. Result show, There is significant difference between the emotional maturity among pharmaceutical and engineering company employees. The emotional maturity of engineering company employees is better than pharmaceutical company employees. There is no significant difference between the emotional maturity among manager and worker of pharmaceutical and engineering company employees. There is significant difference between the emotional maturity among post-graduate, graduate and diploma of pharmaceutical and engineering company employees. The emotional maturity of post-graduate employee is better than graduate, the diploma holder employee is better than graduate and the post-graduate employee is better than diploma holder employee. There is no significant interaction effect of the emotional maturity among types of organization and category of employees of pharmaceutical and engineering company employees. This study, conducted on 64 school teachers from Patiala city out of which 36 male and 28 female teachers. The chi square method & mean is used for the statistical purposes. The results indicated that there is no significant relation between biographical factors (Gender, Age, and marital status) and subscales of social support.

Creative music making is one of the least studied aspects of music education. This may be partly due to our limited knowledge of the creative process. There is a need to explore and understand the creative process of music making by taking perspective of music students within a particular socio cultural context. Present study aimed to explore and analyze the creative process of music making (making variations in rāga’s contents and/or compositions) by considering the vocal students‘ perspective in an institutional setup. 10 vocal students (2 from Diploma, 4 from B. Mus. and 4 from M. Mus.) from two prestigious institutions of UP were interviewed (4 in-person and 6 telephonically). Thematic analysis revealed three themes – causal forces, conscious music making, and natural process of music making. Findings suggest that the particular psychological state, occasion or situation which inspires music students to visualize and forces them to create new music. Two creative processes of music making identified (i.e., conscious and natural) follow different pathways.

The following study was conducted to study the work related stress and its effect on the police officers working in the traffic division of Ahmedabad city, Gujarat, India. For this the sample selected was Constables and Head Constables who held an experience of 1-5 years of duty (60 samples) and 10-15 years of duty (60 samples). The total samples in the population was 120 (N=120). The samples were selected from a variety of regions throughout the city of Ahmedabad. To measure the job related stress, the Job Stress Scale was used which was developed by A. K. Shrivastava and M. M. Sinha. The psychometric method used for statistical analysis was the 't' test. The study showed that the second group (10-15 years experience) showed less work related stress than the first group (1-5 years experience); in both the classes of officers, that is, constables and head constables.

The study explored the relationship of creativity and locus of control of students coming from various academic disciplines (Biotechnology, Environmental Sciences, Civil Engineering, Electronics & Communication, Centre for Women Studies, Mathematics, Food and Nutrition and Geography).The data was collected from a sample of 450 students of Mysore University out of which 40 belonged to Electronics and communication, 44 were from Civil Engineering, 40 from Environmental Sciences, 37 from Biotechnology, 40 from Geography, 16 from mathematics, 20 from Food and Nutrition and 7 from Centre for Women Studies. Abbreviated Torrance Test for Adults and Levenson’s Locus of Control tests were administered on students and their socio – demographic information was taken. Results showed that highly creative students are significantly higher on Internal Locus of Control and the students who were low on creativity are significantly higher on External Locus of Control. The study also found that students at post graduate level were significantly higher on Powerful Others as compared to students at under graduate level. Students with low creativity at both post graduate and undergraduate levels and from all disciplines are significantly higher on powerful others (external locus of control) as compared to the students with high creativity, while students with high creativity at post postgraduate and undergraduate level and from all disciplines are significantly higher on individual control as compared to students with low creativity at both the levels. The results also show that students from Geography are significantly higher on powerful others as compared to students from other disciplines, while students from centre for women studies are significantly lower on powerful others as compared to students from other academic disciplines except food and nutrition students. Students from Centre for women studies are significantly lower on chance control as compared to students from mathematics, environment sciences, biotechnology, civil engineering, and geography. However the students of geography are significantly higher on chance control as compared to students from mathematics, food and nutrition, electronics and communication, and centre for women studies.

The enforcement of the Right to Education Act brings the country closer to achieving the objectives and mission of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and Education for All (EFA) and hence is a historic step taken by the Government of India. Article 21-A and the RTE Act came into effect on 1 April 2010. The title of the RTE Act incorporates the words „free and compulsory‟. „Free education‟ means that no child, other than a child who has been admitted by his or her parents to a school which is not supported by the appropriate Government, shall be liable to pay any kind of fee or charges or expenses which may prevent him or her from pursuing and completing elementary education. „Compulsory education‟ casts an obligation on the appropriate Government and local authorities to provide and ensure admission, attendance and completion of elementary education by all children in the 6-14 age group. With this, India has moved forward to a rights based framework that casts a legal obligation on the Central and State Governments to implement this fundamental child right as enshrined in the Article 21A of the Constitution, in accordance with the provisions of the RTE Act. According to Richard Wasserstorm it means, one ought to be able to claims as entitlements (i.e. human rights) those minimal things without which it is impossible to develop ones capabilities and to live life as human beings. Thus Human Rights is about balancing the rights of all of us as individual within the community.

The aim of the present study was to find out the impact of gender difference in self-esteem between college students and to study the economic status difference in self-esteem among college students. The sample consisted of 60 college students 30 boys (15 were high economic status and 15 were low economic status) and 30 girls (15 were high economic status and 15 were low economic status) college student were selected randomly from various arts college of Rajkot city in Gujarat. Heatherton, T. F. & Polivy, J. (1991) the data was analyzed in terms of mean, SD, and t-test. The result of t-test revealed significant difference in self-esteem between boys and girls college student as compared to girls boys have healthy self-esteem. Result also revealed that students having high economic status were healthy self-esteem than students having low economic status.
