In this study, the variation of seasonal
nutrient loading to be caused pollution and trophic state
of the Sapanca Lake wlıich is the only source of
drinking and usage water for the city of Adapazarı and
its environs was investigated. Samples were taken every
three ınontlıs through one year frm fift diffrent
points on the streaıns feeding and dr in nhe lake.
Paraınetcrs of temperature, pH. N03-N, N02-N. NH3-N.
TKN, P04-P. BOI5 and KOI on the diffrent twelve
streaıns feeding and three draining of points were

accuınulation amounts of nitrogen and phosphorus
causing eutrophication were calculated and trophic state
of the lake was deterınined. According to the results
and analyses using the Vollenweider method. indicated
that the lake had passed to the mesotrophic state. In
addition. to avoid further pollution. possible subsequent
eutrophic state and fid soıne solutions in order to
protect lake were discussed.
