This is a research that reaches the level of descriptive-explanatory studies, since it is not limited exclusively to the description and correlation of data but to explain the reason for said behavior. Scientific investigations of this kind are of interest to the journal itself and to researchers in general.

This article is extracted from the doctoral thesis «The literary criticism on the newspapers and cultural periodicals of Santiago de Cuba (1825-1895)», and examine four critical texts published in the important newspaper El Redactor (1833-1869) about the so called «color’s poets» (black poets) of the colonial cuban literature: the already canonicals Gabriel de la Concepción Valdés, Plácido (1809-1844) and Juan Francisco Manzano (1797-1854), but also Juan Antonio Frías (1835-¿?) and Antonio Medina y Céspedes (1824-1885), these last ones, forgotten for the national literary studies. This analysis constitute an attention call to encourage researches about theses subaltern subjects, above all, the ones outside Havana, whose works also contribute greatly to the colonial cuban literature.

In this article the linguistic analysis of thirty-two original and manuscript letters is done. The letters are elaborated in Cuba by the leader Máximo Gómez Báez and sent to the poetess Lola Rodríguez de Tió. These letters were written between 1900 and 1904 whose norm of reference is established in the american spanish of the nineteenth century. In this work we aspire to verify the described and characterized features of the variety of the spanish in America and in a more specific way the variety of the Antilles language taking into account graphic uses, phonic, morphologic, syntactic and lexico-semantic aspects.

The present work, elaborated specifically for the workshop of the Central University by the bicentennial of the birth of Charles Marx, exposes some of the view points of this author on what, for years, has been called «transition Politics «. It constitutes a proposal for analysis that, assuming as a starting point what the Western political science calls the passage of the so-called authoritarian and dictatorial models towards more stable experiences of liberal democracy, also recalls several approaches of political transition that have as center the overcoming of capitalism. The proposal, performs a basic critical study of the demo-liberal electoral systems, as guarantors of the state-bureaucratic-bourgeo is system, and exposes some perceptions of the founders of Marxism and Lenin on the conditions for initiating the dismantling of capitalism.

From the possible diversity of discourses on social events and processes, how would scientific research make the study of its senses possible without falling into subjectivist or economistic determinisms? In search of answering that question, this text is dedicated to the exploitation of conceptual resources of the Marxian-Engelsian tradition of thought, taking as an axis its elaboration of the term ideology. This takes the form of a theoretical review study. In the end, it suggests that, recognizing the conjunctural nature of all meaning, on the one hand, and the social universality of the ideological phenomenon, on the other, social research should be kept attentive, simultaneously, to its expressions as discourse and practice.

Starting from the critic carried out to the vision Hegelian of the State by the classic Marxist theory —which penetrates in the most secret alleys in the current political speech, displacing missed hermeneutics and bringing back ideas which are the core of a true revolutionary theory— the historical-logical journey that have had the categories exposed in the I dispute settled down by the thought of the authors Prussians will be recaptured —the descent of the Absolute to the world versus the classist fight as history´s engine next to the development of the productive forces and the social relations of production— and the exposition of the problematic around the real nature of the same ones.

In the incessant search of our origins, it is urgent to contribute to the knowledge of the historical roots of the socialist ideal in the territories to know what inheritance we should be worthy and defend the local exponents of it; that is the objective of this article. In tight synthesis offers little-known aspects of his extensive career in terms of theoretical expressions, actions and figures that sympathized or advocated. Due to problems of space, it is impossible to expose the struggles of Marxism against the different doctrines that were sheltered under the label of Socialists; nevertheless, these were the preliminaries until the appearance of the first Marxist cells in the province of Matanzas.

The present article studies the urban spaces in novels of authors in the Cienfuegos city, with a sociological and anthropological vision. From this premise to analyze a literary text is very important, to establish the new meanings of the social phenomena related by the writers, it is mediated by the previous experiences, the conceptual load and intellectual of the social character and their capacity to identify the social phenomena and to associate them with last events. The present work has as objective to analyze from a sociological and anthropological perspective the space of the city of Cienfuegos in their relationship with the urban and social reality in the novels The last beach and Dead nature with bees of Atilio Caballero and The cathedral of the black ones and Monastery of Marcial Gala.

In spite of the development in the last decades of the lexicographical afrohispanics studies, their theoretical and methodological bases are still in a continuous process of proposals for, starting from the general lexicography, to face the particular phenomena that are present in the study of the lexicon and their organization of these special contacts among languages. This report is about this problem, and it proposes adjustments for the field of study of the African linguistic legacy in Spanish of America. Starting from an analysis of the theories and current methods of the lexicography are analyzed the variations of the linguistic data that present many of these words; changes that have impeded, up to now, to establish orthographic norms for an elaboration of glossaries and dictionaries lowers scientific linguistic perspectives.

The present work aims to characterize the style and communicative values in the novels El corazón de Voltaire (2005) and El silencio de Galileo (2009), by Luis López Nieves. The stylistic and linguistic presuppositions of the text have been used. Among the pragmatic resources that intervene in the stylistic configuration of novels are: the use of specialized vocabulary, the introduction of foreign languages and the use of deictic elements.

However, despite the fact that the concept of competence is not new and that it is widely used nowadays, it is necessary to characterize the linguistic competence of foreign language teachers and to distinguish it from the linguistic competence of language learners for general purposes. That is why, after a process of systematization as the main method, academic linguistic competence is established and its distinctive features and parameters are provided. This paper explains this result and its application to the improvement of foreign language teacher education, particularly to the evaluation of a key area of the didactic competence of this professional: the academic linguistic competence.

The objective of the present research is to characterize the new professional roles that journalists and academics in order to insert the Cuban press in the process of journalistic convergence, in accordance with the Cuban social system. Four basic principles are established that must accompany the integrated newsrooms in the current Cuban context. It is determined how the implementation of journalistic convergence should not be seen as a purely organizational process, but requires transformations inherent in the professional culture of journalists, the conception of the message and the relations between the media and the political system.

The proposed objective is to determine the forms of social participation promoted by the Vanguardia weekly for the construction of the thematic agenda dedicated to young people, in order to transform the editorial policy of the press as a way of sustaining a legitimate, democratizing communication, participatory and interactive. The results presented reveal the inconsistencies between the public agenda and the thematic agenda of the newspaper (67,3% of the cases), revealing ignorance of the social problems that generate specific informational interests.
