The oscillation of elevating group on artillery weapon during firing test are described in this paper. The elevation group is represented a rigid body of DOF (rotation in vertical plane). The model oscillation is compared -with the experimental results of real model oscillation (oscillations of elevating group with more degrees of freedom. A difference sizes among simplify and real model oscillation are given, and some of their parameters are analyzed.

According to severe environment protection and safety requirements, tendencies in development of modern munitions, besides of increasing reliability and efficiency, are directed to decreasing of danger during their processing, storing, handling and operating. In that manner the new category of munitions has been obtained, named insensitive munitions, with a minimum probability of unplanned activating. The best method for solving this problem is using of explosive substances that are more insensitive according to standard ones. The main requirement is the tactical and technical characteristics stay at the level or to be better according to the existing munitions. In this paper the developing concept of insensitive munitions is shortly explained and presented a review of most important research results of explosive materials that fulfill requirements for applying in insensitive munitions.

Determination of basic cinematic and dynamic characteristics of compound planetary gear trains is complex process. Therefore there are many analytical, graphical and graphic-analytical methods. This paper presents method of determination gear ratios, loads and power flows for planetary gear set with the sun and ring gear by lever analogy with the application of Wolfs structural symbol. The lever analogy and structural symbols are also defined for the planetary gear set with two sun gears. Defined structural symbols are employed for definition of Ravigneaux gear structure. Application of structural schemes for an analysis of compound planetary gear trains is illustrated through analysis of certain planetary gearboxes functional state. The possibility of analysis of blocked compound planetary gear train is defined too.

In this paper, there has been described the way of measuring propeller shaft deformation using the strain gauges and PCs by means of the non-contact method. On the basis of the known cross-section as well as the propeller shaft material type the torque has been calculated. Knowing the shaft frequency, that is the radial velocity and the torque, it is possible to determine the effective power that has been transmitted from the engine to the propeller. The equipment, that is the hardware and the software that have been used, was produced by Hottinger Baldwin Messtehnik (HBM), Darmstadt, the Federal Republic of Germany. The experiment has been carried out on a ship belonging to the Navy of Serbia and Montenegro in the conditions of the usual sailing regime.
