The meat market is of great importance to the Brazilian economy. Thus, the objective is to analyze how the GDP, workers' in comes, exports and slaughter of cows interfere with arroba price of cattle in Brazil from 1995 until 2014, for such a methodology of models was used auto regression VAR. The study hypothesis is that the number of cows slaughtered in periods prior to analysis, is also an important source for determining prices in the current period. This variable should be lagged, as arise in the slaughter of cows occurs today and these fail to produce calves the market impact will be a few years a head, when the calf was at the point of slaughter. The results indicate that all variables impact arroba of cattle according to economic logic of the system. GDP, exports and positively impact revenue, since the slaughter of females has a negative impact in the shorttermand positively in the medium term.

Desde finales de la década de 1940, pero principalmente durante los años ´50, se crearon los Servicios Nacionales de Extensión Rural en prácticamente todos los países de América Latina. Durante este período histórico de posguerra, Estados Unidos (EEUU) desplegó una fuerte influencia en los países de la región. El objetivo de este artículo ha sido estudiar la incidencia de los EEUU en la institucionalización de los Servicios de Extensión latinoamericanos, a partir del análisis del contenido de una publicación del Instituto Interamericano de Ciencias Agrícolas (IICA): la revista “Extensión en las Américas”. Este documento comienza a publicarse en 1956 y muestra la mirada respecto a la Extensión que se tenía desde el IICA. Es editada hasta 1967 y para hacer este trabajo se revisaron 28 números. Para el análisis del contenido se tomaron las siguientes categorías: estructura y diseño de la revista, línea editorial, autores (nacionalidad y pertenencia institucional), temas abordados, conceptos de extensión y desarrollo. Se verifica una presencia dominante de autores estadounidenses en los artículos con mayor contenido conceptual, y un lugar privilegiado de los EEUU en las editoriales, elementos que demuestran la hegemonía ejercida a nivel conceptual en el campo de la Extensión Rural Latinoamericana.

The article refers to the socio-technical dynamics in the gaucho family livestock highlighting the importance of rural development experiences in family ranchers communities in Rio Grande do Sul. He also stresses the need for further development of research and encouragement of public policies that value the transition from agriculture towards the conservation and sustainable use of threatened countryside in the State. The grain crops, forestry and inadequate management of the fields are among the main causes of degradation, which have already removed more than half of the original area of these native resources, the multifunctionality goes far beyond the traditional and known production of animal protein. For better understanding of the management of urgent transitional work process presents the Multilevel Perspective approach while potentially able to investigate the factors that explain how multiple local and regional actors articulate original trajectories and repertoires of rural development, bringing important contributions to the formulation of policies. This study, which is based on literature review, attributes and identifies key role to family ranchers and their cattle, to the extent that this social group is involved with creative co-production processes, adapted and contextualized locally.
