Mediating Effect of Emotion Regulation on the Relationship Between Leadership Styles and Performance: A Study on Banking Sector

In this study, leadership style perceptions, emotion regulation abilities, and organizational performance perceptions of employees in the banking sector, and mediating effect of emotion regulation on the relationship of performance and leadership styles were measured. To test the model, a questionnaire was applied to the banking sector employees working in the Diyarbakır province of Turkey. As a result of the Structural Equation Model (SEM), emotion regulation mediates between performance and transformational leadership. The relationship between performance, transactional leadership style, and laissez-fair leadership style was not significant. A mediating effect of emotion regulation between organizational performance and leadership perception was examined by the same model. Also, some differences were found in terms of demographical variables.

This study estimate the effects of Fiscal Policy on Stock Market using a Structural Vector Autoregressive with short-terms restricctions for Peru and Mexico in 2003q2 – 2018q2 and 1998q1 – 2018q2 periods respectively and we add a dummy variable for control the finincial crisis period. The results show that Fiscal Policy have positive impact on Stock Market in both countries with directs and indirect effects. Fiscal Policy affects the Monetary Policy for Mexico. And Monetary Policy haven’t direct effects on stock market in both countries.

Halal food industry is expanding in international marketplace due to the increasing number in Muslims. Enterprises from the globe are encouraged to invest in this market since many countries have lowered their restriction on foreign investment. Vietnamese market is viewed as a strong potential for the growth of Halal foods with its national trade promotion program to encourage local and foreign firms to produce halal foods. Getting more Malaysia small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are entering into Vietnam Halal food industry in recent years and the number is increasing in recent years. They are advised to conduct country environmental analysis and entry mode evaluation in order to discover the potential impacts on their foreign investment. It is also useful for SMEs to identify the opportunities in Vietnamese market.

Rural Livelihood Diversification in Nigeria: Implications for Labour Supply and Income Generation

This study assessed how rural households in Nigeria diversify their livelihoods, using data from the 2015/16 Nigeria General Household Survey. The degree of livelihood diversification was measured using the Simpsons Index of Diversity (SID), and the income shares obtained by the households from their livelihoods was estimated using the mean of income shares approach. Empirical findings of this study indicates that livelihood diversification is becoming the norm among rural households. Although there is a higher labour supply in the agricultural sector, but the households earn a lower mean income from agriculture, and a low share of farm income relative to off-farm income. This suggests that subsistence mode of farming prevails and rural households in Nigeria earn more income from off-farm than from farm livelihoods.

Debt Financing and Firm Performance: Evidence from Cointegration Analysis

Erstwhile studies proved that debt can positively or negatively affect firm's performance. This study tests the long run and short run dynamic of debt on firm‘s performance in the context of the negative and positive effects. The panel cointegration model, fully modified Ordinary Least Square and error correction model were employed. The panel cointegration result indicates existence of long run relationship between debt and firm performance. 19.85% long run disequilibrium is corrected within a year while there is significant short run relationship between debt and return on investment. In the same vein, 1.52% long run disequilibrium is corrected within a year while there is significant short run relationship between debt and return on assets. This implies that the use of debt on investment and asset, should be properly scrutinise within the fine line of investment and asset to determine optimal use.

A Study on the Effects of Construction Project Delays in Somaliland Construction Industry

The aim of this study is to fill a significant knowledge gap by exploring the effects of delays in construction projects in Somaliland construction industry. Prior to the questionnaire design, a systematic literature review was conducted to identify five most common effects of delays in construction projects, globally. Based on simple random sampling approach, data was collected from 51 stakeholders from the different construction companies in Hargeisa using a questionnaire survey. Feedback from the stakeholders was analyzed using mean values and Relative Importance Index (RII) for ranking purposes. The results showed that legal action, cost overrun, and complete project abandonment are the three most ranked effect of delays in construction projects in Somaliland, respectively. The implications of these findings are very important as they provide practical, research, policy, and social values that expands the understanding the effects of project delay in global construction industry. This would allow impending academic researchers that might want to conduct research work in this area to validate their findings in the future. The major construction stakeholders are recommended to make use of the appropriate strategies needed to take proactive measures to mitigate the identified effects when executing future construction projects in Hargeisa and elsewhere.
