  • The “Diabetes Mellitus” is a peer-reviewed research and clinical journal published quarterly since 1998 under the auspices of Russian Association of Endocrinologists and Federal Endocrinology Research Centre (Moscow). Its content focuses on original papers on clinical, experimental and academic studies, but also includes literature reviews, lectures, case studies and supplementary materials. General discourse of the journal is dedicated to the key aspects of diabetology, encompassing etiology, epidemiology and pathogenesis of diabetes mellitus, novel diagnostic and therapeutic methods, as well as prevention and management of acute and late complications of diabetes mellitus and associated conditions. The intended primary audience of the journal is medical professionals (including diabetologists, endocrinologists, general practitioners, family physicians and pediatricians), scientists and academicians working in the area of endocrinology and diabetology. In 2014 “Diabetes Mellitus” has become fully bilingual, now featuring full-text English versions of all published materials, and adopted the Gold Open Access distribution model. The current editorial board understanding of the journal’s mission is as following: - to facilitate the exchange of clinical experience and scientific data between Russian-speaking and international diabetology communities; - to inform Russian-speaking medical professionals about the relevant and high-quality evidence-based clinical data.
