The present study reports the effect of compression ratio on the performance and exhaust emissions of variable compression diesel engine using soyabean oil and it's methyl ester.Results show that brake specific fuel consumption , exhaust gas temperature and smoke density are increased but brake thermal efficiency is decreased both in Soyabean - diesel oil blend and esterified Soyabean oil compared to 100 % diesel operation at two different compression ratios.Engine used for the present work is 5 H.P. ,1500 rpm single cylinder diesel engine of compression ratio 16.

In Y2O3–Al2O3 system, compounds Y3Al5O12 (yttrium aluminum garnet-YAG), YAP (yttrium aluminum perovskite-YAlO3,) and Y4Al2O9 (yttrium aluminate monoclinic- YAM,) are well known. YAG and YAP are of considerable technological importance. The conventional solid-state reaction techniques require high sintering temperatures (above 1800°C) to prepare phase pure compounds. Though several soft chemical routes have been explored for synthesis of YAG, YAP and YAM, most of these methods are complex. Moreover, phase pure materials are not obtained in one step, but prolonged annealing at temperatures around 1000 C is necessary. One step combustion synthesis of these compounds is reported in this paper using a modified procedure and employing mixed (glycine + urea) fuel. Phosphors based on Eu3+ activation were also prepared which exhibited characteristic photoluminescence. The emission spectrum of Eu3+ doped YAG phosphor is dominated by orange emission due to 5D0-7F1 transition with inversion symmetry. However, the emission spectrum of Eu3+ doped YAP phosphor is dominated by red emission due to 5D0-7F2 transition without inversion symmetry. The PL spectrum of Eu3+ doped YAM phosphor consists of similar emission intensities for both 5D0-7F1 (590 nm) and 5D0-7F2 (607 nm) transitions.

Sugar industry is one of the most important agro based industry segment in India. Cane Sugar Industry being an important role in the Indian economy as well as in the foreign exchange earnings and also plays a very vital part in polluting the environment with its waste discharge. With expansion of Sugar plants, pollution due to inadequate and it becomes threat for environment .In this study four Sugar Industries were selected for the analysis of the composition of their effluents, which are the primary source of water pollution. The results of the study showed that the effluents in general exceed the limits specified in CPCB with reference to parameters a such as BOD, COD , Oil and greases , total suspended solids. The effluent level found through the analysis can be reduced if suggested recommended measures are worked upon.

Insecticides are widely used in India for agriculture purpose1-2. Due to easy availability of insecticides with new trade names and mixture of different class they are knowingly or unknowingly used for homicidal and suicidal poisoning purposes. Thin layer chromatography is found to be the best option for the identification of these insecticides. Presently number of chromogenic reagents is used to identify different class of insecticides from the biological materials which is found to be tedious, laborious, time consuming and increases the analytical cost. Hence a single unique chromogenic spray reagent for detection of different commonly used insecticides like organophosphorous, carbamate, organochloro, sysnthetic pyrethroids and plant growtrh regulators by thin layer chromatoraphy technique. The present paper report if 10% of aqueous sodium hydroxide and 0.1% Bromophenol Blue in 1% silver nitrate solution in absolute alcohol at room temperature sprayed on these insecticide gives different colour spots like blue, purple, yellow, black green for different insecticides. Up to now, strontium aluminate SrAl4O7 (SA2) could be synthesized by solidification from the high temperature liquid state, a spray dried amorphous precursor etc. In this paper Combustion synthesis was used for preparation of SrAl4O7 and Sr3Al32O51 compound. Combustion synthesis furnishes a quick method for preparing these phosphors. Further, Eu2+ luminescence in these hosts is studied. X-ray diffraction (XRD) results confirmed the formation of single-phase compounds. The photoluminescence spectrum of SrAl4O7:Eu2+ gives a broad band emission at 508 nm corresponding to 4f65d1 → 4f6 (8S7/2) transition upon excitation of 342 nm and Sr3Al32O51:Eu2+ shows emission at 450 nm for excitation at 325 nm. This paper reports results on the luminescence of Eu2+ in strontium aluminate .

Quality of water is an important criterion for evaluating the suitability of water for irrigation and drinking.This paper deals with the study of physico-chemical parameters of pond water near village Kolura, Taluka Nerparsopant, District Yavatmal, Maharashtra. The study was made in the month October 2012.The samples of water were collected using standard procedural methods. The physiochemical analysis was extensively carried out on each sample using known standard methods. The results of this analysis point out the fact that all the parameters are within the permissible limits prescribed by WHO, ICMR and BIS drinking water standards which indicate that the water quality of Kolura pond is good and can be used for domestic, irrigation and drinking purposes.

The search for agro-socioeconomic sustainability and new production System paradigms are greatest challenges of modern agriculture which involves among other technological practice an adequate soil management .For appropriate management of soils it is essential to understand physical and chemical properties of red and black soil viz. soil texture, bulk density ,cation exchange capacity, organic carbon ,available nitrogen .phosphorus and potassium. In present study of five samples of black and red soil in wardha region observe that black soil is alkaline in nature .Red soil is acidic to slightly alkaline in nature .Black soil have high cation exchange capacity than red soil. Red soils type are poor in organic matter, available nitrogen and phosphorus.
