The convection heat transfer plays an essential role to many heat transfer situations by different ways. Convection comprises both the fluid flow as well as heat flow. Computational fluid dynamics is very useful to determine the behaviour of heat flow and fluid flow. Fins are employed in situation where it is desirable to increase the heat transfer. Fins may be stationary or moving as in case of electric motor and bike engines. The heat transfer depends on heat transfer coefficient of medium, thus the correlation for Nusselt number and Reynolds number with respect to location of the body has been studied. Fin heat transfer is either steady state or transient according to situations and involves natural convection and forced convection to enhance heat transfer. The aim of this paper, to review the work carried out in the field of fin heat transfer. Literature reviews of research work pertaining to heat transfer analysis in fins of various profiles are described.

This Geologists show much interest in recent years to high-grade metamorphic rocks and particularly on granulites of southern peninsular India. Granulite shows preservation of near peak metamorphic mineral assemblages and minerals developed during retrograde metamorphism. The recent studies of fluid inclusions from the South Indian granulites have shown that CO2-rich inclusions are the common fluid species present in these rocks (Newton, 1989; Santosh et al., 1991; Srikantappa et al., 1992, Touret, 1971). Though now generally agreed those carbonic fluids are the dominant fluids present in South Indian granulites and in some parts of eastern ghat granulites (Srikantappa and Bhaskar Rao, 1995). The main objective of this study is to investigate the use of glass and plastic waste powder in geotechnical applications to evaluate the effects of glass and plastic waste powder on Specific gravity test, Atterberg limits test, Compaction test, and CBR test. The powdered glass and plastic waste powder material is added to the soil in different proportions like 2%, 4%, 6%, 8% find the percentage of which the maximum soil strength is obtained. Also a comparative study on the properties of untreated clay soil and clay soil treated with glass and plastic waste powder was also done. The glass and plastic waste powder is effectively reduced and clay soil fit for pavement construction.

In some applications the interesting choice is used in algorithmic based fault tolerance (ABFT) technology which tries to detect the errors and to correct it. Communication and signal processing units are well suitable for ABFT. An example for the above mentioned ABFT is (FFT) is a building block in some application. An algorithm to compute discrete fourier transform is known as (FFT) Fast Fourier Transform. This FFT converts time domain signals into frequency domain. Hence FFT is used widely in DSP technology and also in rudimentary operations in the field of digital signal and image processing. It is indispensable in most signal processing operations. This paper consists of efficient multiplication technology to reduce the partial product which is banned in conventional multiplication technology. Hence FFT and inverse fast fourier transform (IFFT) with efficient multiplication and with increased speed is used for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) modulation and demodulation blocks. Normally I many application high speed and efficient multiplication is desired. Hence conventional multicarrier technology is chosen, but results in lower spectrum efficiency. So the principle of OFDM are used.

Nowadays Expansive soils are a worldwide problem for civil engineers. It causes damages to foundations, pavements etc. Due to disposal of plastic waste on soil and pollution, it reduces soil strength and causes various problems on soil. Soil stabilization is the way used to reduce problems in expansive soils. The present project describes about the properties of expansive soil and bottom ash. Bottom ash is used as an additive material for stabilizing the soil. Stabilizing the soil by adding Bottom ash improves the soil strength and reduces swell and shrink. The main aim of this project is to study the effect of bottom ash on expansive soil for road construction. The laboratory tests are carried to determine the index properties and engineering properties of soil sample. The soil samples are prepared with different proportions of bottom ash as 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, 30%. This proportion was used for further tests such as Atterberg’s Limit test, Standard Proctor Compaction test (SPC), Unconfined Compressive Strength test (UCC), and California Bearing Ratio test (CBR). This project shows that bottom ash improves the soil strength.

Emergency Medical Services comprises of reaching hospital within minimum amount of time so that immediate health care is provided. The proposed system gives the nearby hospital's location by the combined usage of Global Positioning System(GPS) hardware and Google Map Application Programming Interface(API). Based on Internet of Things, it also provides information regarding hospital facilities like number of beds, blood level of all types and availability of doctors using various Embedded System devices in real time during major accidents where multiple casualties have to be treated. These real time data are accessed from the ambulance through internet connectivity and alert signals are given to the corresponding hospitals selected by the casualties. This helps in reducing the mortal rate and improves the hospitality of the people.

In this prroject, a class-D audio amplifier which combines the merits of the phase shifted carrier and the multiple level carrier. The proposed closed-loop amplifier includes a 2nd order integrator and a DLDPC triangular wave generator. High quality audio amplifiers should exhibit high power efficiency, while maintaining satisfying high fidelity to the human ear at the same time. Two sets of 180° out-of-phase triangular waves are used as carriers, and each set has its respectful offset voltage level with non-overlapping amplitude. By performing the double Fourier analysis, it can be found that the linearity can be enhanced and the distortion can be reduced with the proposed modulation. Experimental results shows that the proposed fully differential DLDPC PWM class-D audio amplifier feature a total harmonic distortion is lower than 0.01% with an output voltage swing of +or− 5V

We have considered Correlation based Feature Selection(CFS), Symmetrical Uncertainty, ReliefF, Information Gain, Chi- Square feature selection methods and four different types of classifiers namely Jrip (Rule based), J48 (Tree based), NB (Bayes Learner), KNN (Lazy Learner). Proposed method has recorded some better result than considering all the features.

In this research we focused on to form a decision support system for the educational institutes’ which can help them to know about the placement possibility of students. Our research is not limited to find out placement possibility but we did multi-level analysis on student performance dataset which will predict that what level of interview process a student is likely to pass. For this we have applied Naïve Bayes and Improved Naïve Bayes which is integrated with relief feature selection technique to obtain the prediction. Data analysis was done using NetBeans and WEKA. For this our proposed technique gave better accuracy than existing naïve Bayes which was 84.7% and naïve Bayes gave 80.96% accuracy.

We propose a two-factor data security protection system with issue revocability for Cloud storage System. This paper presents the most economical and flexible solution to control and operate home appliances using Smart Plug devices. The Smart Plug is a power switch which functions via Wi-Fi connection. Users can plug devices into the Smart Plug to remotely switch power on/off, get information of device’s power consumption and ambient temperature, and simultaneouslycontrol the nearby devices using the integrated IR-emitter. There are two ways to access Smart Plug that is, either connecting it directly in Wi-Fi AdHoc mode or connecting it with a router in WiFi infrastructure mode and accessing online with IPconnectivity. The paper utilizes Restful based Web services in which the overall system architecture is Client/server model and the Web client use JavaScript and Ajax to transfer data. An Android-based Smartphone application employs standard operations such as Get and Post requests that return responses to communicate between the remote user and the Web server. Risk of accidents due to fire is more often and has become a common occurrence leading to the loss of lives and property In this regard, the study investigates the effects of fire on concrete members reinforced or strengthened with polypropylene fibers. The amount of spalling and the extent of cracking of concrete can considerably be reduced by use of suitable amount of polypropylene fibers. In this paper, finite element software ANSYS is used for studying the temperature propagation in concrete exposed to elevated temperatures. An attempt will be done to study the impact of fire on reinforced concrete structural components considering a beam member of cross sectional dimensions 230mm × 600mm providing clear cover according to the specifications of fire safety building code. Based on these parametric studies, results including the effects of high temperature on properties of fiber reinforced concrete together with the strength, stiffness, thermal stress, thermal strains under load and heat flux will be obtained by performing the analysis.

In this paper, we propose a broadened depth-first search indexing method (e-DFS for short) for getting to user preference profiles represented by directed acyclic graphs (DAGs), and stress the outline of the e-DFS encoding that adequately encodes a user preference profile into a low-dimensional feature point which is in the long run filed by a R-tree. We acquire one or more traversal orders for every hub in a DAG by traversing it through a changed version of the depth-first search which is used to inspect the topology structure and strength relations to measure closeness or similarity. With the popularity of social media (e.g., Face book and Flicker), users can easily share their check-in records and photos during their trips. In view of the huge number of user historical mobility records in social media, we aim to discover travel experiences to facilitate trip planning. When planning a trip, users always have specific preferences regarding their trips. Instead of restricting users to limited query options such as locations, activities, or times, we consider arbitrary text descriptions as keywords about personalized requirements. Moreover, a diverse and representative set of recommended travel routes is needed. Prior works have elaborated on mining and ranking existing routes from check-in data. To meet the need for automatic trip organization, we claim that more features of Places of Interest (POIs) should be extracted. Therefore, in this paper, we propose an efficient Keyword-aware Representative Travel Route framework that uses knowledge extraction from users’ historical mobility records and social interactions. Explicitly, we have designed a keyword extraction module to classify the POI-related tags, for effective matching with query keywords. We have further designed a route reconstruction algorithm to construct route candidates that fulfill the requirements. To provide befitting query results, we explore Representative Skyline concepts, that is, the Skyline routes which best describe the trade-offs among different POI features. To evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed algorithms, we have conducted extensive experiments on real location-based social network datasets, and the experiment results show that our methods do indeed demonstrate good performance compared to state-of-the-art works.

In mobile navigation services, on-road path planning is a basic function that finds a route between a queried start location and a destination. While on roads, a path planning query may be issued due to dynamic factors in various scenarios, such as a sudden change in driving direction, unexpected traffic conditions, or lost ofGPS signals. In these scenarios, path planning needs to be delivered in a timely fashion. The requirement of timeliness is even more challenging when an overwhelming number of path planning queries is submitted to the server, e.g.,during peak hours. As the response time is critical to user satisfaction with personal navigation services, it is a mandate for the server to efficiently handle the heavy workload of path planning requests. To meet this need, we propose a system, namely, Path Planning by Caching (PPC), that aims to answer a new path planning query efficiently by caching and reusing historically queried paths (queried-paths in short). Unlike conventional cache-based path planning systems where a cached query is returned only when it matches completely with a new query, PPC leverages partially matched queried-paths in cache to answer part(s) of the new query. As a result, the server only needs to compute the unmatched path segments, thus significantly reducing the overall system workload.

For this the system uses ultrasonic sensors placed over the bins to detect the garbage level and compare it with the garbage bins depth. The system makes use of Arduino family microcontroller to control every process and Wi-Fi modem for sending data to server. Dustbins are provided with low cost embedded device which helps in tracking the level of the garbage bins and an unique ID will be provided for every dustbin so that it is easy to identify which garbage bin is full. When the level reaches the threshold limit, the device will transmit the level along with the unique ID provided. Various types of additives are added to the acid such as corrosion inhibitors, clay stabilizer, iron control agents and suspending agents.During the injection, the acid will flow into the least resistant (higher permeability) intervals in the formation due to heterogeneity or non-uniform damage in the formation and this prevents the damaged or low permeable sections from being stimulated. For achieving uniform acid treatment and diverting acid to the damaged zone, acid can be diverted mechanically or chemically. Each diversion technique has right conditions limitations to be applied depending on the formation situation.The name of the field is not mentioned in this work due to the confidentiality of publication and the well is named as Koya. Free vibration and forced vibration analysis was carried out on the framed structure by the use of computer program SAP 2012 v12.0.0 and validating the same experimentally. The results of the free vibration analysis like time period, frequency, mode shape and modal mass participating ratios of the framed structure were found out. From modal analysis the first mode time period of fixed base building is found to be 0.56 sec whereas the first mode period of isolated building is found to be 3.11s (approximately 6 times the fixed-base period!). This value is away from the dominant spectral period range of design earthquake. Forced vibration analysis (non-linear time history analysis) was done to determine the response of framed structures and to find out the vibration control efficiency of framed structures using lead rubber bearing. Isolation bearings in this study are modelled by a bilinear model. Under favourable conditions, the isolation system reduces the interstorey drift in the superstructure by a factor of at least two and sometimes by a factor of at least five. Acceleration responses are also reduced in the structure by an amount of 55-75% although the amount of reduction depends upon the force deflection characteristic of the isolators. A better performance of the isolated structure with respect to the fixed base structure is also observed in floor displacements, base shear (75-85% reduction), floor acceleration relative to the ground(less acceleration imparted on each floor and their magnitude is approximately same in each floor), roof displacement. Introduction of horizontal flexibility at the base helps in proper energy dissipation at the base level thus reducing the seismic demand of the super structure to be considered during design

There have been several approaches developed based on the concept of discovering different change patterns in patents, news and consumer showed their opinions and whether the opinions are positive or negative. We do not summarize the reviews by selecting a subset or rewrite some of the original sentences from the reviews to get the main points as in the classic text summarization. Our task is performed in following steps: (1) mining product features that have been commented on by customers; (2) discovering the opinion sentences in each review and deciding whether each opinion sentence is positive or negative; (3) summarizing the results. This paper proposes CRM strategic techniques to perform these tasks. The slave latch of the proposed retention flipflop constructed by using thick oxide transistors, i.e. the length of the transistor has taken as 350nm. The architecture of retention flip-flop depends on VDD,IO scheme, in which VDD,core and VDD,IO are two different voltages. VDD,IO is higher than the VDD,core. The level up conversion from VDD,core to VDD,IO is achieved by NMOS pass transistor level conversion scheme, which is based on an always low signal transmission technique. The proposed retention flip-flop reduces the standby leakage compared to LECTOR based retention flip-flop, with small increase in area. The proposed retention flip-flop was designed in 130nm technology with 1.2V and 2.0V for core latch and retention latch respectively. The operating frequency is 20MHz, and the standby power is 255.8619pW.

Once the image has been split into blocks of roughly homogeneous texture, we apply an agglomerative procedure to merge similar adjacent regions until one of the two stopping criteria is satis1ed. At each stage we merge the pair of adjacent regions which have the largest merger importance (MI) value. Based on MI the regions are merged and then form the segmented regions for medical image segmentation application. Experimental results are tested on benchmark MRI database for medical image segmentation application. Results after being investigated, proposed method shows a significant improvement for segmentation of images.

If it is a cache hit, but the value is obsolete, the cache manager sends an uplink requests to the server and waits for the data broadcast. When the requested data item appears, the cache manager returns it to the requester and retains a copy in the cache. The simulations are done using both MATLAB and Network Simulator 2 tool and the performance metrics like throughput, packet loss and delay will be compared with previous schemes.

Results showed that the methane production increased by 162% from the co-digestion of cow manure with sewage sludge and co-digestion of cow manure with coconut shell and rice straw undergoes ammonia inhibition. With these, the anaerobic co-digestion of cow manure with sewage sludge has the best effect on the treatment of biomass feedstocks of rice straw coconut shell and sewage sludge at various treatment. This experiment would give a viable estimate of the possible methane production from co-digestion of these resources. The enhancement of the biogas yield was attributed to the improvement of biodegradability of cow manure through the addition of sewage sludge. The energy consumed was determined in the kilowatt-hour meter from the measured value, specific moisture evaporation rate, and the specific energy consumption for both wet and dry products were calculated using the measured data. The results showed that 408.6g, 835.1g and 1342.4g of water were evaporated and 14.9 kWh, 13.2 kWh and 12.5kWh of energy were consumed and the calculated SMER were 0.0274 kg/kWh, 0.0633 kg/kWh and 0.1074 kg/kWh for 170g, 340g and 510g test sample loads per batch drying respectively. It was found that the specific energy consumption for both wet and dry products were 21.9 kWh/kg, 9.9 kWh/kg, and 6.1 kWh/kg of wet product and 54.9 kWh/kg, 26.8 kWh/kg, and 17.9 kWh/kg of dry product for 170g,

Using RSM, the effects of individual operating factors and their interactions were categorically determined, which were not otherwise possible by the classical design of experiment methodology. Using the resultant response variable correlations, gas efficiencies were optimized as a function of the different blending ratios and bed materials using respectively. In order to validate the optimized parameters, a comprehensive threedimensional numerical model is developed to simulate gasification in a fluidized bed reactor using Eulerian–Lagrangian approach. The model predicts product gas efficiency and carbon conversion efficiency in good agreement with experimental data. The formation and development of flow regimes and distributions of gas compositions inside the reactor are also discussed.

The parent and school modules may be a simple mobile phone, which receives SMS alerts from the Bus module. Microcontroller LPC2148 is the heart of the project. It reads student ID numbers from ID cards by using the RFID reader interfaced to it. The single crystal X-ray diffraction studies reveal the structure and space group of the crystal. The powder X-ray diffraction study shows that the crystalline perfection of grown crystal is good. Fourier transform infrared studies confirm the functional groups of the crystals. It is seen from UV–vis studies that the optical transparency is found to increase much by adding chlorides. SHG efficiency of KDP is found to be slightly increasing with doping of Succinic acid. Dielectric studies show the conductivity and electrical behaviour of the crystal. Micro hardness studies show the mechanical stability of the crystal.

The two-dimensional boundary-layer governing partial differential equations are reduced to ordinary differential equations by using Nactsheim-Swigert shooting technique with sixth order Runge-Kutta iteration Method. e ordinary differential forms of momentum, energy and concentration equations obtained by local similarity transformation are highly nonlinear. The electronic structure and the ground state properties of fluoroperovskite compound NaZnF3 in the orthorhombic and cubic phases has been studied by means of self- consistent Tight Binding Linear Muffin - Tin Orbital (TB-LMTO) method. The NaZnF3 crystallizes in the orthorhombic structure at ambient condition and at high temperature it crystallizes in cubic structure. The total energies for the subjected compound were calculated as a function of reduced volume for both orthorhombic and cubic structure. The calculated total energies as a function of volume were fitted to the Birch EOS to obtain the ground state properties. The calculated ground state properties of these compounds are in good agreement with the experimental results. The total density of states and the band structure of NaZnF3 were calculated and are plotted at ambient pressure as well as at high pressure. Between the two structures, orthorhombic structure is found to be stable phase. Cubic NaZnF3 is found to be an indirect bandgap insulator with gap occurring between Γ − R points. Whereas orthorhombic NaZnF3 is found to be a direct band gap insulator with gap occurring at Γ - points.

Anonymizing networks such as Tor allow users to access Internet services privately by using a series of routers to hide the client’s IP address from the server. The success of such networks, however, has been limited by users employing this anonymity for abusive purposes such as defacing popular Web sites. Web site administrators routinely rely on IP-address blocking for disabling access to misbehaving users, but blocking IP addresses is not practical if the abuser routes through an anonymizing network. As a result, administrators block all known exit nodes of anonymizing networks, denying anonymous access to misbehaving and behaving users alike. a secure system called Nymble, which provides anonymous authentication, backward unlinkability, subjective blacklisting, fast authentication speeds, rate-limited anonymous connections, revocation auditability that is the users can verify whether they have been blacklisted, Nymble thus represents a practical solution for blocking misbehaving users of anonymizing networks. The user must first contact the Pseudonym Manager (PM) and demonstrate control over a resource; for IP-address blocking, the user must connect to the PM directly. We assume the PM has knowledge about Tor routers, and can ensure that users are communicating with it directly. Cooling system in an automotive vehicle plays an important role in the engine performance. It dissipates excessive heat and maintains the performance of an engine at an optimum level. Size of the radiator mainly depends on heat load and availability of space. In this paper, an attempt has been made to examine the performance of radiators namely copper, aluminium and Cuprobraze employed in various commercial vehicles. Specifications of copper radiator and validation of numerical analysis were identified. After modifying the material properties of a radiator, performance analysis have been carried out using fluid flow software, which is fully integrated in solidworks for computing fluid flows. The result obtained from the analysis is commendable and this method may be taken as an effective approach for the prediction of heat transfer in radiators. Though aluminium has noted to perform better than copper and Cuprobraze, but it has limitations such as irreparability, non recyclability. This will help the paraplegic patient to lie down without an auxiliary support. The hardware set up will provide the necessary mechanical movements like forward, left, right and height. By means of ultrasound sensor, the obstacle can be detected and displayed on the LCD. The patients with paraplegia find it very difficult to sit continuously in the same position as it can develop back pain and muscle cramps. Due to increasing awareness of negative impacts of emissions of NOx on public health and the environment, IMO has issued stringent rules to reduce NOxemissions from marine vessels.Tier III is the most stringent standard where around 80% NOx reduction efficiency is required. In order to satisfy these rules, NOx abatement technologies were developed and SCR is considered one of the most effective and promising methods to meet such regulations.In the current work, SCR system is fitted to a medium speed marine diesel engine and UWS is centrally injected from 6-hole nozzle positioned 5D upstream of SCR entrance. Two different types of static mixers are installedupstream of SCR entrance namely blade mixer and flapper mixer to investigate their effect on two parameters namely urea conversion efficiency and uniformity index (UI).Four different configurations are investigated and compared to each other'sas listed in table 1. These four cases are researched at three different exhaust gas velocities. Results revealed that the best urea conversion efficiency is achieved when both mixers are installed with a value of91.7%, while flapper mixer resulted in 10.86% higher urea conversion efficiency over the blade mixer. The reason behind this is due to the bigger contact surfaces between exhaust gas flow and flapper mixer, more ammonia and flow come in touch with each other's leading to better mixing quality.UI increases along with urea conversion and the maximum value achieved is 92.8% at 8.3 m/s when both mixers are installed. On the other hand, flapper mixer achieved 91.9% UI which is 2.79% higher than that achieved by blade mixer.At smaller exhaust velocities, higher UI and higher urea conversion efficiency are achieved due to more residence time which enhances mixing and chemical reactions

Secure Routing is a fundamental networking function in all communication system, even multi-hop wireless networks are no exceptions. Attacking the routing service, an adversary can easily paralyze the operation of an entire network. In this research paper aims to present an enhanced Secure Distributed Path Detection (SDPD) Algorithm to prevent the black hole attacks in multi-hop networks. The proposed methodology consists of two important mechanisms, Multipoint Point Relay (MPR) and Shortest path routing. The SDPD is used to select the multiple shortest paths and secure protocol used to transfer a message to destination without packet drops. The path selection is adopted to find the maximum Connection Probability between any given source-to-destination pair in a dynamic way. Through extensive simulations and verification proposed framework achieves extensively better detection accuracy than conventional methods.

Further, in order to formulate optimum delay in MZ-DI structure, investigations have been carried out by varying delay of MZI-DI from 1 to 20 ps, and variations in Quality factor and Eye-opening factor (%) have been noticed at transmission port (T-port) of MZI-DI. Further, a comparison has been made in order to identify the most suitable input modulation format for the proposed format converter among CSNRZ, DBNRZ & MDBNRZ that yields best performance in terms of Q-factor, ER and EO (%) at the T-Port.It has been from observed from performance analysisthat CSNRZ is more suitable input format as compared to DBNRZ, MDBNRZ while converting to NRZ format all-optically utilizing the proposed MZ-DI scheme.

TBA was influenced by grape seed extract on the 12th day of maturation in comparison to the control. The lowest value for different days of fermentation was obtained from 2000 ppm dosage of Black Gemre grape extract. In fermented Turkish sausage, pH were not significantly affected by supplemental grape seed powders and extracts. Color change in sausages with grape seed powder and extract was (L) slight bright, (a) slight reddish and (b) slight yellow. It has been concluded that grape seed powder and extract may be suitable for use as an antioxidant agent to prevent degradation of sausage by oxidation.

In this article, the bit error rate (BER) analysis of four-wave mixing (FWM) in semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) based wavelength converter is carried out for various modulation formats such as carrier suppressed return tozero (CSRZ), duo binary return to-zero (DBRZ) and modified duo binary return to-zero (MDBRZ). The performance analysis is performed at following bit rates: 10 Gbps, 20 Gbps and 40 Gbps. The power penalty of each format is determined. Lower the power penalty better is the performance. It has been noticed that CSRZ gives better performance at 10 Gbps while at 20 Gbps DBRZ performs better than the other and again at 40 Gbps line rates, CSRZ exhibits better performance as compared to two advanced modulation formats.
