In order to identify the differences of psychological characteristics related to performance, in relation to team sports (soccer, basketball, volleyball and futsal) and gender, a non-experimental study was realized with a non-probabilistic sample of 205 athletes (87 women, 42.4 % - 118 men, 57.6 %) of Quindio, Colombia. The questionnaire for Psychological Characteristics related to the Sports Performance (CPRD) was used. The results of the overall scores showed significant differences in all sports; equally, differences in the team cohesion between the genders were observed. In the analysis of sport modality, differences between soccer, volleyball and futsal were found. These results suggest that the psychological intervention programs should be appropriated to the gender, the training demands and competition in different sports.

Given that social support is provided in face-to-face communications and ICT mediated communication, this article discusses the types of social support from both communication models in a group of college students. The information was collected with Assis scale. The material and emotional support is mainly given by the face-to-face communication, suggesting that is the predominant form, both men and women (60.1%) for the provision of social support. However, the informational support is more received by mediated communication ICT, demonstrating its high level of social penetration and its impact on ways of interacting. The existence of a relationship between emotional support and sex was established, being higher in women. Similarly between its provision and age, being higher in younger people and, finally, although was expected to find a relationship between age and modes of communication, this was not established. For university students both communication models are complementary and facilitate the provision of support holistically, in a continuum.

The purpose of this research was to analyze the development of the hypothesis as a tool of scientific thinking, in learning contexts, among children between the ages of 4 and 8, from the educational levels of pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, transition, first and second grade. The sample was 44 children. A quasi-experimental design was used: pre-test, post-test with control group. During the pre-test, the initial state of the subjects was established regarding the level of development of their hypothesis. A qualitative analysis was performed on the production, formulation, reasoning, performances and arguments that make children when developing their hypothesis. The Wilcoxon ranges test was used to compare changes in the development of the hypothesis between the pre-test and post-test, obtaining a statistical significance of p≤0.001 regarding the objective and the research hypothesis. This article presents the results of the research: Meanings of Social Integration Process in Young Ex-offenders in the city of Cali, specifically the analysis and discussion of results from the experience offered by young people who have graduated from a custodial sentence from a reeducational center in the city of Cali. The process of social integration was characterized starting from three specific areas: support networks, academic training and work. Thus, a qualitative analysis was performed from conducting semi-structured interviews, retaking some conceptual references addressed primarily from the development of the concept of meaning and subjective meaning.

This paper aims to provide a discussion on the topic homomaternal family and school. To this end, a qualitative research study was performed through narrative interviews which were conducted with four pedagogical supervisors from four schools located in the south of Brazil. After signing the informed consent, the interviews were recorded and transcribed, subjected to discourse analysis from the perspective of feminist studies of gender and Socio-Historical Social Psychology. This essay focuses on determine what is the discourse of neuroscience to approach the teach- ing of finance, teaching strategies and teachability applied to finance and correspondence with the practice and teaching models. Learning theory to substantiate the educational practices of teachers in teachability, evaluating, articulating and confronting the educational foundations for teachers who possess human development taking into account the context were identified. The importance of the incorporation of science and technology in the transformation of future pedagogies and teaching expertise is highlighted. The contribution of neuroscience to achieve excellence in education with interdisciplinary work to make education support the functioning of brain research in the classroom as normal practice of teaching. New and novel learning strategies are incorporated considering the guidance given by the theory of Ned Herrmann. Is evaluated, executed and planned according to the teaching of intelligence and the results of neuroscience re- search that revealed that in the brain combines the thinking, feeling and action proposals. It is as clear that the contexts involve certain teaching strategies that must be contextualized knowledge with emphasis on reality social utility and contextualization of knowledge. La socialización organizacional es el proceso por el que una persona adquiere competencias laborales en términos de un nivel de comprensión funcional de la organización, consigue el apoyo de sus compañeros de trabajo, y acepta las normas de una organización. El objetivo de la presente investigación fue determinar la relación entre la socialización organizacional y el compromiso organizacional en trabajadores mexicanos. Se analizaron los datos obtenidos de 169 participantes, que fueron evaluados con el Inventario de Socialización Organizacional y el Cuestionario de Compromiso Organizacional. Los resultados mostraron que la socialización organizacional correlacionó positiva y significativamente con el compromiso afectivo y normativo. Se concluyó que la socialización organizacional permite que los trabajadores desarrollen el compromiso con la organización a través de los vínculos afectivos con los compañeros y la creación de un sentido de lealtad hacia la organización.

A efectos de explorar la relación entre rendimiento intelectual y nivel educativo materno, en el presente estudio piloto se analizan 50 díadas madre-hijo. El rendimiento cognitivo de los menores se evaluó a través de la Escala de Inteligencia para Niños de Wechsler -cuarta edición (WISCIV) en su adaptación argentina, y los años de educación materna a partir de un cuestionario sociodemográfico. Los resultados indicaron correlaciones significativas entre las dos variables evaluadas. De este modo, se constata la relevancia de la educación materna como predictor del rendimiento en el WISC-IV. Las conclusiones ratifican la necesidad de reconocer los factores socio-ambientales que rodean al sujeto para desarrollar una interpretación más completa de la producción registrada en el test

Actualmente se evidencia la influencia de variables socioambientales, como la cultura, el sexo, la edad o la nacionalidad, en la adquisición, desarrollo y mantenimiento de las conductas prosociales. El objetivo de este estudio fue analizar las diferencias en conductas prosociales entre estudiantes de educación secundaria de las ciudades de Pasto y Bucaramanga (Colombia), a quienes se administró la escala de Conducta Prosocial del Teenage Inventory of Social Skills (TISS). Participaron 2.694 estudiantes con edades comprendidas entre 11 y 17 años (1.878 de Pasto y 816 de Bucaramanga). De acuerdo con los resultados, los adolescentes de la ciudad de Pasto presentaron niveles significativamente más altos de conducta prosocial que los de Bucaramanga. Este patrón de resultados fue similar por género y edad.

A la luz de los fundamentos teóricos en los que se basó el desarrollo del instrumento, en este proceso se revisa la estructura factorial y la confiabilidad encontrada. También se compara con las diversas versiones que la escala ha tenido hasta la fecha, tanto en muestras pertenecientes a población infantil como adulta. A partir de todo ello, se proponen pautas para mejorar las propiedades psicométricas de la escala.

This paper aims to explore the level of life experience students showed relating to post-migration aspects: migrating and transmigrating groups, level of contact, perceived social support, contributing to a better sociocultural and psychological adaptation. 214 migrant students of different genders, from Buenos Aires from public and private universities were sampled through an empirical study. The results showed higher levels of identification compared to those originating from to host societies with greater migrating group contact, with a more defined social support, and satisfactory level of adaptation. Differences are registered talking about internal and external imigrant origin.

Analyzed psychometric properties and factorial structures designed to measure learning dimensions and attributes using self-regulated learning scale (EAA) are discussed in this research paper. 402 high school teenagers in high school were sampled; the test showed satisfactory results and the reliability instrument was Cronbach Alpha: 842. Through a factorial analysis of main components, four factors based on self regulation theory were indentified. The results of this factorial analysis showed high rates of learning and self-regulated theoretical attributes along with a factor model for measuring the building blocks for which appropriate adjustment may allow its use for future research purposes in local and Latin environments.

Research results on perceived family discrimination, depression and anger against women infected with HIV/AIDS by family members is provided through on this paper. For this study 200 women infected with the virus were sampled; the Feared and Perceived Discrimination Scale and Beck’s Depression and the State and Trait Anger Expression Inventories were applied. Lower levels of discrimination among women infected by family members were more prevalent than in any other situation leading to contraction of the virus. In this model, family discrimination showed control of anger and a small direct effect on cognitive-affective symptoms of depression. It was concluded that early intervention in family discrimination prevented depression.

This article identifies and compares the dimensions of self-concept from a multidimensional perspective, in a sample of 63 students who are women of first and last semesters of a Family Development Program at the University of Caldas in Manizales, Colombia. A cross-sectional study of inferential character was performed using semester and dimensions of self-concept as variables, from the application of the test AF5. In the statistical analysis, the performances were compared in the different factors of self-concept of students first and last semesters. The last semester students had higher average academic work, when compared against the first semester. Additionally, it was shown for students performing above the overall average in all dimensions evaluated Autoconcepto (with the exception of emotional self-concept), with respect to Spanish test scales, suggesting the need for continued progress in the AF5 standardization in Colombia.

This research paper aimed to understand the impact of the early childhood education in the construction of subjectivity in seven children in displacement aged 3 to 5 years in a kindergarten in the locality of Bosa, in Bogota. The design was the qualitative method with and hermeneutical approach. The analysis of the results indicates that children adapt easily, identifying themselves with the kindergarten, with their peers and their teachers. This implies profound changes in their subjectivity to the extent that they have more models, which are redefining their way of life and allowing them to experience new practices, customs and experiences.

This paper presents the results of a prospective study of a cohort of psychometric validation aimed to validate a bank of 20 items that sought to measure the power relations in the classroom. These reactive were subjected to expert judgment, to analysis of factorial validity and invariance of parameters. With the best reagents, Power Relations Scale in the Classroom (PRSC). This scale was applied to a sample of 198 nationally students. The results indicated that the PRSC has psychometric properties that ensure the quality and accuracy in their measurements. This study allowed discussing theoretical and practical implications in the evaluation and promotion of college learning.

This article presents the results of a quasi-experimental research that aimed to design, implement and evaluate a program of prevention of alcohol consumption in college students in the Bogota city, Colombia. The program was designed with the participation of 101 students through focus groups. Students expressed agreement with the utility of the program for the university community and the possibility of generating control attitudes towards the consumption of alcohol. Student’s evaluation was performed on alcohol consumption before and after implementation of the program showed no significant differences.

This article shows the results of an investigation aimed to: explore the usefulness of group therapy to deal with the effects of paranormal experiences and explore how humanistic therapy produces positive changes to the anomalous/paranormal experiences. They were asked to sample (N = 20, range 22-71 years, M = 45.65, SD = 12.52), 65 % female and 35 % male, a self-administered questionnaire to answer seven questions before and after your participation in a group. The activity included three phases: (1) Exposure (2) Interpretation y (3) Close the group. Participants indicated that the group helped reduce their emotional distress (p = .001), and gain an understanding of their experiences (p = .008).

This paper reports the results of an investigation aimed to characterize the neuropsychological disorders in institutionalized adolescent offenders in a program of Criminal Responsibility System for Adolescents of Sincelejo. These children had an age range of 12-17. Instrument as a standardized protocol neuroscience Colombian population that measure diversus cognitive functions was used. The results indicated that these children have mild deficits in processes such as information processing speed, visual-perceptual processes, directed attention, divided and slow learners. On the other hand showed no significant alterations in memory, executive function and verbal fluency; likewise also predominant features were observed towards the consumption of drugs and alcohol; but showed significant percentages to dropout and leisure.

Trends were analyzed in the research lines reported by 32 universities in Ibero-America that have at least a PhD program in Psychology. The research method was exploratory and descriptive with bibliographic cut design. 308 lines of research were analyzed in total and three trends were identified: the first, bringing together different fields on one line. It was found that Clinical Psychology is the area of greatest interest, the second, identifies lines that emerge in front of the ones determined by principles, as the main interest was evidenced cognition, and the third, the frequent joints between various disciplinary fields, which were mainly occur in Clinical Psychology and Health Psychology.

This article reveals the results of an investigation that aimed to describe the presence of alcohol use among students in third to fifth semester of Psychology program at a private university in the city of Barranquilla. The sample was comprised of 147 students of III, IV and V semesters and the instrument used was the scale AUDIT, to identify those subjects which had harmful consumption alcohol at an early stage. We identified the presence of student alcohol consumption habits. Also individuals were identified in the reactive 10 scale. Clinically and statistically significant differences AUDIT scores were found, large effect sizes were also huge.

Interests are measured with Vocational Interests Test, to guide in choosing professional careers by Frederick Kuder and other authors. This research paper aims to identify the predominant interests in a same Psychology group of students; in 2010 and 2011 following Kuder’s proposal as a basis for being professionals within Salvadorian context. The first measure introduces fashion more in Social Service (Mo=59), Persuasive (Mo=40), Literary (Mo=20) and Office work (Mo=51). And Social Service (Mo=64), Persuasive (Mo=42) and Literary (Mo=21) appears on the second measure. There were not significant differences between students who received guidance processes prior to access. The career begins with traditional views, even though the three expected interests based on the formation of a contemporary psychologist are required.

This research paper focuses on the description of the development of a self-concept in relation with social interaction that happens between children and other adults or partners. 312 children were chosen of both sexes between the ages of 3 and 7. All of them were registered in educational institutions such as kindergarten, pre-nursery, nursery and first grade. The Inventory on Development Battelle was applied in an empirical and analytical study with a transactional and descriptive design. The results given showed that a child who is not provided with the social procurement for his age, presents a low emotional development. In this manner, a low self-concept was correlated with difficulties of interaction with adults or parents. In this way, the stimulating and strengthening of the personal and social development in the infancy, both in the family and in the school, is very important.

This research paper aims to determine the conditions resulting in organizational change in different companies in Bogota, based on motivation and job satisfaction. Three assessment tools were applied in the research. These were: Work Motivation Questionnaire (WMQ), Instrument for Measurement of Organizational Change (MC) and a Job Satisfaction Questionnaire (S20/23). This research was based on an ex post facto retrospective of unique group design which shows that the most important motivational factors in organizational change are power and recognition. In addition, the change pattern correlates positively with achievement and motivation.
