48TH SESION OF THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE FOR EDUCATION ON THE THEME: “INCLUSIVE EDUCATION-WAY TO THE FUTURE”, GENEVA

In the period from the 25th to 28th of November 2008, in Geneva, Switzerland was held the 48th session of the International conference for education on the theme: “Inclusive education-way to the future”, in the organization of UNESCO and International Bureau of Education-IBE.
153 countries members of the UNESCO sent their agents to participate in the conference, which were at the level of Ministers for education, Vice-ministers, State Secretaries, high officers from the Ministry for education, Ambassadors of the Constant missions accredited in UN. Besides the mentioned 20 agents of the intergovernmental organizations, in the conference took part 25 non-governmental organizations and experts for education.
The Republic of Macedonia was presented by the official delegation composed of: the Ambassador Gjorgji Avramchev, Constant Agent in Constant mission of the Republic of Macedonia in UN, Geneva; Sasho Dodevski, member of the Cabinet of the Minister for education and science; Marija Simonova, Counsellor for special education at the Bureau for development of the education; Biljana Tasevska, authorized minister of Constant mission of the Republic of Macedonia in UN, Geneva.
The goal of the conference was to stimulate the implementation of the global action of the UNESCO “Education for all”, though were discussed other questions that are in line with the Inclusive education, the strengthening, enlargement and larger application in the other countries in the world.
The delegation of the Republic of Macedonia presented the basic message and the name of the campaign which was lead by the Minister for education and science, M-r Pero Stojanovski: “The knowledge is force, the knowledge is power” and in addition pointed out the changes in the education system of the R. Macedonia with the aim of its improvement. It was pointed the transformation of the system of eight-years education in the system of ninth-years education, the introduction of obligatory high school education and free of charge books delivered for all students in primary and secondary schools, as additional stimulation.
The delegation presented the project “Computer for every child” and the campaign which enabled free course for usage of the computers for every citizen, as well as the priorities of the educational system, that include the segment of Inclusive education.
