Now a day’s disposal of organic wastes in urban, suburban and rural area is a burning issue, besides this also enhanced large scale problem in the residential colonies as well as in the large institutions, industries and other organizations. Solution to this is the vermicomposting which is pollution free, fast growing cost effective and efficient nature, Safe, economic, ecofriendly, beneficial and useful by destroying waste materials; and plays important role for the sustainable development of agriculture by maintaining natural balance of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium and iron etc in the soil. This experimental study was conducted in the campus which has a continuous source of organic waste of dead organic matter, plant litter, papers, grass, leaves of different trees etc. It is found that whatever the organic matter produced in the campus is converted into the worm casting through vermicomposting project which resulted into zero garbage in the campus and vermicompost produce used for garden and tree plantation of the campus. This study is going conducted from June 2016 to April 2017.

Butterflies are an integral part of the forest ecosystem. They show distinct patterns of habitat utilization. Being highly sensitive to changes in the environment, they are easily affected by even relatively minor perturbations in the habitat, so much so that, they have been considered as indicators of environment quality and health of an ecosystem. In the present study, for 2017 the study is divided in three seasons viz., Pre-Monsoon, Monsoon and Post Monsoon, selected sites were visited twice in each season between 7.30 am to 12.30 pm and butterflies were identified for their systematic diversity studies by using insects net, insects boxes, spreading boards, oven, butter paper envelopes, camera, hygrometer, GPS instrument etc. 35 species of butterflies belonging to 12 genera from 3 families and 4 subfamilies are recorded from the study area. During present investigation, it was found that 2 (Leptosia nina and Graphium doson) species are rare, while describing their status and justifies its inclusion in Scheduled List suggesting the need for its strict conservation measures. These findings are important with respect to monitoring butterfly diversity and defining conservation strategies in the Daulatabad Fort area of Aurangabad District (MS).

Gum is naturally occurring chemical substance in the plant. Gums are natural exudates of stem or from the wounds of the plant. Physical and chemical properties of gum changes as per the eco-climatic condition of the plant. Gums are colloidal in nature soluble in water but completely insoluble in alcohol and ether. They are noncrystalline in nature and contains large amount of sugar. Chemically it is polysaccharide. Gums are hygroscopic which absorb moisture and become soft in a humid atmosphere. During the present investigation qualitative analysis of gums for Phenols, Alkaloids and Tannins was undertaken. Phenols were recorded in all the samples of gums collected from study area. Tannins were absent in the gum collected from Azadirachta indica, Butea monosperma and Mangifera indica. Presence of alkaloids was recorded in Acacia Arabica, Acacia chundra, Azadirachta indica and Moringa oleofera. Qualitative analysis of the gum samples will be the data bank for further research work in this area.

The reservoir is constructed in the year 1994 for irrigation purpose. Fisherman of Ahmedpur Matsya Vyavsayik Sahakari Sanstha Ltd. Ahmedpur use this reservoir for fishery activity. The Lattitude and Longitude of the area 18o-42`-30`` and 760-58`-32``. Minimum water spread area is 108.31 ha. And average water spread area is 65.5 ha. Catchment area is 40.7589 sq. km. Natural drugs are better safe than synthetic western medicines which are synthetic, therefore peoples are returning to the field of traditional medicinal plants. An ethnobotanical survey of the study area with respect to medicinal plants showed that villagers depends on plants for their various daily needs like food and shelter.The present work deals with documentation and study of medicinal plants, used by people of villages in Osmanabad district (MS). The total catchment area of reservoir is 46.7589 sq. km. The village Thodga use this water for irrigation and pisciculture. The fishermen society also use this water for pisciculture activities. Most of the power generated nowadays is produced using fossil fuels, which emit tons of carbon dioxide and other pollution every second. More importantly, fossil fuel will eventually run out. In order to make the development of our civilization sustainable and cause less harm to our environment, people are looking for new source of substitute clean energy Because of the increasing demands in clean energy, the solar energy industry is one of the fastest growing forces in the market. Nowadays there are several major directions for hybrid solar technology development. For example, photovoltaic systems directly convert the solar energy into electrical energy. Today's most efficient technology for the generation of electricity from solar radiation is the use of multi junction solar cells made of III-V compound semiconductors. Efficiencies up to 39 % have already been reported under concentrated sunlight. Electricity is produced in solar cells which, as noted, consist of more layers of semi conductive material. When the sun's rays shine down upon the solar cells, the electromotive force between these layers is being created, which causes the flow of electricity. The higher the solar radiation intensity, the greater the flow of electricity. The most common material for the production of solar cells is silicon. Silicon is obtained from sand and is one of the most common elements in the earth's crust, so there is no limit to the availability of raw materials. To increase the efficiency and reduce the cost of a PV system, an introduction of combination of polymer and nanoparticles in cell design is fast replacing the silicon PV modules. An overview of this new technology confined to Amorphous silicon (aSi) Cadmium Tellurium (CdTe) , Copper indium gallium selenide (CIS, CIGS), CdSe and TiO2 Hybrid Solar Cells is presented in this paper. The properties and the advantages of the hybrid solar cell have been discussed in detail.

On the basis of Koop’s theory a model is proposed for the variation of dielectric constant with frequency and further relaxation time for different compositions are calculated which are in agreement with reported value.

BaTiO3 (BTO) has been synthesized by sol-gel autocombustion method. The prepared nanoparticles were sintered at 700 C for 2 hrs. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern was used to study the phase transformation and crystal structure of BTO. All reflections XRD are corresponding to the cubic structure of BTO indicating polycrystalline and single phase formation BTO nanoparticles without the formation of any other secondary phases. The calculated lattice parameter of BTO is found to be a = 3.99 Å and crystallite size was determined as txrd = 75 nm. Scanning electron microscopy was used to investigate the grain size and their morphology. The smaller crystallite size and grain size confirmed the nano-crystalline nature of prepared BTO powder. Spontaneous electric polarization with applied electric field hysteresis loop was measured to investigate the ferroelectric properties of BTO.

Cd(1-x)ZnxS (x=0)/ CdS thin films were deposited by the chemical bath deposition technique. Depositions were done on cleaned glass substrates. Ferrite nanoparticles having chemical formula CoYxFe2−xO4 were prepared by sol-gel auto-combution method. The cubic spinel structure of the prepared samples was confirmed by using X-ray diffraction data. The hopping lengths LA and LB were calculated in order to study the hopping mechanism. The distribution of cations over tetrahedral A and octahedral B sites was studied for all samples. From cation distribution data it is clear that Co2+ and Y3+ occupy both A and B sites. As Y3+ substitution increases the percentage of Y3+ ions in octahedral – B site increases than tetrahedral – A site. Small part of the Fe3+ ions also occupy tetrahedral – A site. X-ray intensity ratios were calculated for three planes and compared with observed values.

The objective of this work is to study the influence of deposition temperature on morphological and ethanol sensing properties of the CdO thin films prepared by spray pyrolysis technique. These films were characterized for morphological by means of scanning electron microscopy (SEM). As deposited CdO films are polycrystalline with (111) preferential orientation. The relationship between the surface morphology and the sensing properties to ethanol sensing properties of the CdO thin films is newly established. The CdO films exhibited the maximum response of 21% at 300 0C upon exposure to 0.2 vol.% LPG.

The Nd3+ doped Cobalt ferrite with a nominal composition of CoFe2-xNdxO4 (where x = 0.00 and 0.02) samples have been prepared by standard ceramic technique. The structural properties are investigated by X-ray diffraction technique and Infrared spectroscopy. The X-ray diffraction data shows single phase cubic spinel structure for both samples, whereas no extra peak of Nd3+ is observed when x =0.02 sample. The effect of Nd3+ doped on Infrared spectroscopy properties of cobalt ferrites recorded at room temperature using Perkin Elemer spectrometer (Model 783). It shows that the two strong frequency band ʋ1 and ʋ2 in the wave number range 800-350 cm-1 and it shows that Nd3+ doped cobalt ferrites are decrease than pure cobalt ferrites.

Zinc Oxide nanorods (ZnONR) have been deposited by simple wet-chemical method from the zinc nitrate solution at 600C on ITO coated glass substrates. Synthesized thin films were annealed at 5000C for 5 hr. The obtained thin films have been characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). XRD pattern showed preferential orientations along (002) crystallographic plane which revealed polycrystalline nature of the film. Pr3+ doped PrxCoFe2-xO4 (x = 0.0, 0.025,0.05,0.075, 0.1 )ferrite nanoparticles prepared by using sol-gel auto-combustion method. The prepared samples sintered at 600 0C for 4 hours. Infrared spectra carried out at room temperature in the wavenumber range of 300–800 cm-1 . The IR spectra show two major absorption bands. High frequency bands ‘ν1’ is assigned to the tetrahedral and low frequency bands ‘ν2’ is assigned to the octahedral sites of complex. Force constant for the tetrahedral and octahedral site was determined by using IR data. The values of Force constant use to calculate the Stiffness constants (C11 and C12). Using the values of stiffness constants; Elastic moduli such as Young’s modulus, Rigidity modulus, Poisson’s ratio and Debye temperature are calculated.

In the present paper, we report synthesis of cobalt ferrite nanoparticles using well known sol-gel auto combustion technique and investigations of structural properties. Glycine which is considered as a green fuel was used for the synthesis of cobalt ferrite nanoparticles. The metal nitrate to fuel ratio was selected as 1:3 in accordance with the propellant chemistry approach. The phase purity and crystal structure was determined through X-Ray diffraction technique. The analysis of XRD pattern proves the formation of single phase cubic spinel structured cobalt ferrite. The particle size was determined by Scherrer’s formula which is found to be 31 nm, confirming the nanocrystalline nature of the prepared cobalt ferrite.

Nanocrystalline semiconductor materials have attracted considerable attention due to their particle size dependent physical properties and very large specific surface area which are not present in bulk materials. Usually they are synthesized with organic ligands to disperse them from agglomeration. However, these ligands can act as series resistance in the active layer of solar cells. In this work cadmium sulfide (CdS) precipitates were prepared from cadmium and sulfide ion solutions without any ligands at different solution temperature and synthesis time. The obtained CdS precipitates were washed by rinsing with methanol and by centrifugation with water and methanol. By using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) impurities were observed on the surface of rinsed CdS samples and they had been eliminated after washing by centrifugation (not shown here). X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns indicate that the obtained products were of hexagonal structure. The average size of the CdS crystallites found by Scherrer formula 12 nm before centrifugal washing and 6 nm after washing. The best cell prepared with CdS nanoparticles showed a photocurrent (Jsc) of 2.2 mA/cm2 and a photovoltage (Voc) of 0.84 V, measured in air at room temperature under 100 mW/cm2illumination in a solar simulator.

In Ahmednagar District the leeward slope of these sub ranges are very favorable for wind power generation and wind power density is between 119 to 131 Watts per sq mt. with 413 windmills it produces 386.80 MW electricity. Geographical location of Ahmednagar is conducive for wind power harnessing. Its typical platue location gives more suitable situation for wind power generation.

Being a premier institution of higher learning, the college has initiated ‘The Green Campus’ program two years back that actively promote the various projects for the environment protection and sustainability. The purpose of the audit was to ensure that the practices followed in the campus are in accordance with the Green Policy adopted by the institution. The methodology include: preparation and filling up of questionnaire, physical inspection of the campus, observation and review of the documentation, interviewing key persons and data analysis, measurements and recommendations. It works on the several facets of ‘Green Campus’ including Water Conservation, Tree Plantation, Waste Management, Paperless Work, Alternative Energy and Mapping of Biodiversity. With this in mind, the specific objectives of the audit are to evaluate the adequacy of the management control framework of environment sustainability as well as the degree to which the Departments are in compliance with the applicable regulations, policies and standards. It can make a tremendous impact on student health and learning college operational costs and the environment. The criteria, methods and recommendations used in the audit were based on the identified risks.

Therefore, in this research paper the prospects and opportunities of using palm biodiesel in an engine are studied. The experimentation was conducted on a four stroke, single cylinder, D.I. diesel engine with Diesel and various blends of Palm biodiesel. The analysis of performance and emission of various blends of palm biodiesel and neat diesel was carried out. The results reveal that at blend B20, the better performance and less emission are obtained as compared to other blends.

This paper reported, food such as rice will cook within 30-35 minutes and maximum temperature of cooking oil is reaches upto 67 0C. Food never burns your pots and no stirring required for oven. Leaves of plants provide a good habitat for microorganisms. The interaction between the microorganisms and the leaf surface is of great importance to both the partners. Present paper is aimed to study the effect of roadside particulate matter on Phylloplane mycoflora of P. longifolia. A total of the 07 fungal species were isolated from the leaf surfaces of P. longifolia. Phylloplane fungi were significantly reduced away from the roadside as compared to the exact roadside. This indicated that pollution influence the growth of fungi on Polyalthia leaves collected from exact roadside.

Zinc (tris) thiourea sulfate (ZTS) is promising semi organic nonlinear material in the field of photonics and optoelectronics. In present investigation amino acid Glycine and L-Alanine were added in molar percent in under saturated ZTS solution to enhance second harmonic generation (SHG) efficiency. Effect of Glycine and L-Alanine on SHG efficiency has been studied by Kurtz and Perry powder test. Glycine and L-Alanine doped zinc (tris) thiourea sulfate single crystals were grown from aqueous solution by slow evaporation technique. The grown crystals were subjected for various characterizations. FTIR studies have been carried out to identify the functional groups present in the crystal. The effect of Glycine and L-Alanine on transmittance of grown crystals was studied by UV–visible study. The grown crystals were subjected to single crystal X-ray diffraction.

Semiconducting CdTe thin films have been deposited on amorphous glass substrate using a spray pyrolysis technique. The preparative parameters have been optimized to obtain good quality and stoichiometric thin films. Binary chalcogenides with appropriate bandgap energy have been attracting a great deal of attention because of their potential applications in photovoltaics. CdTe in the form of thin films is prepared at different substrate temperatures by a simple and economical spray pyrolysis technique. The photoelectromical characterization shows that both short-circuit current (Isc) and opencircuit voltage (Voc) are at their optimum values at the optimized substrate temperature of 2500C. The SEM studies reveal the compact morphology with large number of grains.

Apparent molar volumes (фv) and viscosity B-coefficients for aspirin solutions in pure water system have been determined from density (ρ) and viscosity (η) measurements at 298.15 to 313.15 K using a pycnometer and Ubbelohde viscometer respectively. Eight different concentrations ranging from 0.0040 to 0.0145 M were prepared. The apparent molar volumes were calculated from the density data. In addition, the concentration dependence of the apparent molar volumes was examined using Masson’s equation. The Jones-Dole equation was used to analyze viscosity data to obtain viscosity ‘A’ and ‘B’ coefficients. The drug interacts with various ions or molecules or biological membranes present in the biological system are an important phenomenon. The parameters derived from these equations have been interpreted in terms of solute-solute and solute-solvent interactions.

Second step involves synthesis of [4, 6 (4-substituted aryl)-2-oxo-1, 2, 3, 4- tetra-hydro-pyrimine-5 yl propionic acid by reaction between 5-(substituted phenyl)-5-oxo pentanoic acid, urea and substi-tuted aldehydes (Biginelli reaction).Third step involves reaction of [4, 6 (4-substituted aryl)-2-oxo-1, 2, 3, 4- tetra-hydropyrimine-5 yl propionic acid was dissolved in a solution prepared by reacting Na (0.1mol) with 200ml of absolute ethanol and then solution is refluxed with ethyl chloroacetate to produce. 3-[4-chloro-6-(4-chlorophenyl)-1-(2-ethoxy-2-oxoethyl)-2-oxo-1,2-dihydropyrimidin-5-yl] propanoic acid. In forth step Compound (3) was treated with hydrazine hydrate to form[3, 6 (4- substituted aryl)1-(1,2hydrazino-2-oxoethyl)- 2oxo- 1,2,3, 4tetrahydro pyrimi-dine -5-yl] propionic acid derivatives. Their structures are confirmed by IR, 1H NMR. TLC of synthesized compounds performed in chloroform: ethanol (3:1) solvent system. All compounds were screened for their antitumor activity by trypan blue assay at. (1 µg /mL, 10 µg/mL, 100 µg /mL, 1000 µg /mL). And their results were compared with standard drug Cyclophosphamide.

The spinel ferrite series of Cd1AlxFe2-xO4 where x varies from x=0.0 to 0.5 in the steps of 0.1 were prepared by the conventional double sintered ceramic method. The formation of single phase spinel structure was confirmed from XRD. The dielectric measurements were carried out as a function of temperature using two probe method with L-C-R-Q meter. The dielectric constant, dielectric loss and dielectric loss tangent are calculated using the data. The dielectric parameters show normal dielectric behavior. The dielectric properties i.e., dielectric constant (ε′), dielectric loss (tan δ) decrease with Al3+ ion doping.

The present study was aimed to formulate, evaluate and optimized a tablet which disintegrates and dissolves rapidly to show a rapid onset of action. Diclofenac sodium, a non-steroidalanti-inflammatory drug with analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties was selected as a model drug. In the present study, attempt has been made to prepare fast dissolving tablets of Diclofenac sodium using superdisintegrants like sodium starch glycolate and starch by direct compression technique using 3 different concentration of superdisintegrant. The precompression parameters of prepared tablet blend like angle of repose, bulk density, tapped density, Carr’s index, Hausner’s ratio and the post compression parameters of the tablet like hardness, friability, weight variation, disintegration time, invitro dissolution release rate were evaluated. It was concluded that formulation F9 showed better release characteristics of the drug.

The synthesized chalcones were characterized by IR, NMR and Mass spectral studies. With this chalcones Fe(III) metal complexes were prepared and also characterized by different spectroscopic techniques. IR spectra indicates that hydroxyl oxygen and nuetral carbonyl involved in the coordination with Fe(III) ion. All the complexes posses’ octahedral geometry.

High Molecular weight water soluble homo polymer of Carbopol are reported to possess very high viscosity in low concentration, transparency, film forming properties and are useful in formation of gel. The objective of this research is to prepare and evaluate 2% polymer containing transdermal gel of Diclofenac sodium. The gel was prepared and evaluated for pH, Spreadability, Consistancy, Homogeneity, Drug Content, Skin Irritation test and In vitro Diffusion Study. The percentage drug release was 97.66%. It can be concluded that preparation of diclofenac sodium by using 2% carbopol 934P Grade were prepared and evaluated.

Their structures are confirmed by IR, 1H NMR. T.L.C. of synthesized compounds performed in chloroform: ethanol (3:1) solvent system. The anti-inflammatory activity of all compounds has been recorded on the basis of reference standard Indomethacin. All the compounds showed tendency to cause a fall in oedema and showed anti-inflammatory activity. The anti-inflammatory data shows that use of anisole in first step plays important role in the activity. Anti-inflammatory activity of all compounds was taken by Carrageenan induced rat paw oedema as described by Winter et al. on albino rats.

The aim of the present study was to develop an emulgel formulation of Luliconazole using carbopol 934 as a gelling agent. The Luliconazole has anti-Fungal activity. It acts by inhibiting lanosterol demethylase, which is major component of fungus cell wall. Emulgel has emerged as a promising drug delivery system for the delivery of hydrophobic drugs. The prepared emulgel were also evaluated for their physical properties, pH, drug content and rheological properties. Candida albicans was used as a model fungus to evaluate the antifungal activity of the prepared formulations. Stability studies revealed no significant differences in formulation. It was concluded that Luliconazole emulgel formulation (F3) prepared by using Carbapol 934 as gelling agent, emulsifying agent in its high level and liquid paraffin in its low level was the choice of formula, since it showed the highest drug release and antifungal activity.

The present work was to develop simple UV spectrophotometric method for simultaneous estimation of frusemide in bulk and tablet dosage form and validate as per ICH guidelines. In which two methods, method A is absorption maxima method in that λmax was found to be 277 nm. Method B is Area under curve (AUC). Furosemide is the most commonly used high potency loop diuretics use in clinical practices. A least time consuming efficient and simple UV spectrophotometric method for the assay of frusemide has been developed. Comparison of assay of brands of frusemide (Lasix 20mg) has also been made available in medical store. The assay is based on the ultraviolet UV absorbance maxima at about 277nm wavelength of frusemide using ethanol as solvent. A sample of drug was dissolved in methanol to produce a solution containing frusemide. Similarly, a sample of ground tablet was dissolved in ethanol and various dilutions were made. The absorbance of sample preparation was measured at 277nm against the solvent blank and the assay was determined by comparing with the absorbance of available brand. The developed methods were validated for linearity, precision, accuracy, LOD and LOQ as per ICH guidelines. Both the methods were found to be linear within the conc. Range of 5-25μg/ml for frusemide. The present methods were found to be simple, linear, precise, accurate and sensitive and can be used for routine quality control analysis for the estimation of frusemide in bulk and tablet dosage form.

Bioethanol is an alcohol made by fermentation mostly from carbohydrates produced in sugar or starch crops such as corn, sugarcane, or sweet sorghum. Cellulosic biomass derived from non-food sources. Ethanol production from sugarcane is currently the most attractive and alternative to fossil fuel a it achieves significant GHG emission reduction The high cost of vegetable oils likely would push the biodiesel cost to over $1.00 per litre. Costs in a small plant would be about 10 % cents per litre higher than the tallow cost. The current global scenario shows that our country deems very low percentage of utility and production, so it is challenge to our science and technology to build up utility and production of biofuel.

Pollution due to Electromagnetic Radiation (EMR) is inevitable in today's world and it had affected our lives. Currently we are totally dependant upon the technologies which are the major sources of EMR. In many situations these radiation are more powerful than natural sources of radiation. A study was conducted in Pune city (India) to find out the effect of EMR emitted by Global System for Mobile (GSM) and high voltage powerline (HVPL) on health parameters like blood pressure and heart rate, for 20 healthy volunteers (10 male and 10 female), within age group 18-25 years. In the study, heart rate (HR) and blood pressure along with other health parameters are measured using multiparamonitor (Caddo 19B, Multipara set-up). The transmitter and receiver handset (Moto G 3rd Gen-XT 1550), GSM SIM (AIRCEL), distance between caller and receiver, time of observations and other external parameters are kept fixed. These observations are analyzed using software “students online t test”. Significant effect is observed on heart rate and blood pressure for level p<0.05. In high voltage powerline study, the changes in diastolic or systolic blood pressure and heart rate when volunteers were subjected to electromagnetic radiation due to power line for 30 minutes of time are statistically not significant for groups at level p < 0.05.

With the increasing power of screening programme and increasing interests in the reservoir of untested natural products, many future drug developments will be based on natural products. Phyllanthus amarus is an annual weed commonly known as bhumi amla in India and is traditionally used to treat flu, dropsy, diabetes, and jaundice. It is also used to treat hepatic and urolitic diseases and have diuretic, antiviral, anticancer, hepatoprotective, antioxidant anti-inflammatory activity. It mainly contains phyllnathin and hypophyllanthin as active ingredients. The aqueous extract of this plant had been employed for treatment of nervous debility, epilepsy, as medhya (intellect promoting) and in vata disorders. In the present study, we reports the proximate survey and phytochemical screening of Phyllanthus amarus. The whole plant material was tested for proximate survey shows 1.96% foreign organic matter, 7.32% ethanol soluble extractives, 17.21% water soluble extractives, 7.22% total ash, 4.68% Acid insoluble ash, 11.38% loss on drying and 2.00% moisture content.

The current work is carried out to for estimation of Pazufloxacin mesylate in bulk and pharmaceutical dosage form by utilizing area under curve (AUC) method. For this purpose the wavelength range 229-260nm was selected. Distilled water was used as a solvent throughout the work. Linearity was observed in concentration range 2-12µg/ml (r2 =0.999) for the method. Recovery studies for area under curve were found to be 99.32%. The method developed was validated for linearity, precision, accuracy, LOD, and LOQ as per ICH guidelines.[1] The present method was found to be simple, linear, precise, accurate and sensitive which can be used for routine quality control analysis for spectrophotometric estimation of Pazufloxacin mesylate in bulk and dosage form.

An effective water purification method for the community is the key to human survival and development, as water management is a current global concern. Contaminated water is the main source of infectious disease viz. Amoebiasis and Malaria, Cholera, Dysentery, Paratyphoid, Fever, Typhoid, Jaundice. The WHO (World health organization) report that one sixth of the world's population (1.1billion people) does not have access to safe water. Due to use of contaminated water, human population suffers from water borne diseases. Therefore it is necessary to check the water quality at regular interval of time. An assessment on the basis of temperature, pH, Turbidity can also provide an indication about water quality. The present cross-sectional study is focused on measuring the quality of drinking water, soil water, and laundry wastes water in rural areas of Pune district of Maharashtra state and its effect on human health in these areas. Various analyses including physical and chemical assessment were carried out on the water sample collected from the village. The different samples were showing variations in physicochemical properties. At that time water quality was also questionable in most of the cases as majority of people living in these areas. The people were not safe from various water borne diseases. The principal sources of water are lakes, river and relatively shallow ground water of dam and the study argues about the need and importance of water purification and water management systems in current times. In this review, we are assessing the water pollution to sustainable use of water and try to ensure the highest protection of water from all pollutants.

The rare earth La3+ material substituted in Nickel-Zinc nano ferrite was synthesized by sol-gel auto combustion method. The dielectric and electric properties of the Ni0.5Zn0.5 LaxFe2-xO4nanoferrite where (x=0.025, 0.050, 0.075, 0.100, 0.125) were studied. The dielectric constant and dielectric loss was observed with the variation in frequencies. The a. c. resistivity was observed with the increase in Lanthanum concentration. The dc resistivity of Ni0.5Zn0.5 LaxFe2-xO4 nanoferrite with increase in frequency was investigated at constant temperature 2000C using Two Probe method. The dc conductivity of Ni0.5Zn0.5 LaxFe2-xO4 nanoferrite was observed with increase in Lanthanum concentration.

The adsorption of individual atoms on the semiconducting carbon nanotubes (CNT) has been investigated by using the first principles method within density functional theory. The stable adsorption geometries and binding energies have been determined for a Nickel (Ni) Transition Metal (TM) atom. We have found that the character of the bonding and associated physical properties strongly depends on the type of adsorbed atoms, in particular on their valence electron structure. Our results indicate that the properties of CNTs can be modified by the adsorbed Ni adatom. Owing to the curvature effect, these binding energies are larger for different sites of adsorption that we have used. We have showed that the Ni adatom can form strong and directional bonds with carbon atom of CNT. We have calculated Band Structure (BS), density of state (DOS) and charge transfer to find out the conducting nature of CNT. We have also calculated the HOMO and LUMO energy from which we can say HOMO shows the ability to donate electron and LUMO shows ability to accept the electron.

Silver nanoparticles are assumed to enhance nutrients efficiency in plants. Silver nanoparticles are one of the most widely used and expected to enter natural ecosystem. Nanoparticles have potential to improve growth and yield of wheat plant. They interact with plant causing many morphological and physiological changes. The present work highlights the role of nanoparticles on plant development. The study focuses the impact of silver nanoparticles on root length, shoot length, seed germination rate. The green synthesis was done by using the aqueous solution of Fargesia sp. Jiuzhaigou (Bamboo) leaf extract and AgNO3. A fixed ratio of plant extract added into AgNO3. The solution was prepared and the colour change was observed which proved formation of nanoparticles. The nanoparticles were characterized by XRD. The size of nanoparticles is observed in the range from10-30 nm. The study indicates that the silver nanoparticles synthesized have positive growth promontory effects on growth of wheat seedlings.

In this work we have synthesis the Ni-Zn ferrite nanoparticles having composition Ni0.65 Zn 0.35Fe2O4 at two pH values 7 and 8, synthesized by wet chemical sol-gel autocombution method using L-Ascorbic acid as chelating agent. The single phase cubic spinel structure was confirmed by X-ray diffraction studies. The surface morphological studies were carried out using scanning electron microscopy using JEOL JSM-6360 scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The effect of pH values on structural properties of synthesized nanoparticles has been investigated. Lattice parameter (a) increases, X-ray density (dx) decreases, Unit cell volume (V) increases and Crystallite size (t) increases with increase in pH value from 7 to 8. The grain size obtained from SEM images show decreasing trend with increasing pH Value.

Using Surber’s technique of measuring reflection coefficient from the air-dielectric boundary of liquid the dielectric constant (ʹ), dielectric loss(ʹʹ) of 1,2-Diaminopropane (1,2-DAP) with methanol and their binary mixtures for different mole fractions of 1,2-Diaminopropane (1,2-DAP) have been measured at 9.85 GHz microwave frequency at 30 0C.The values of density (), viscosity (), Square refractive index (nD2) of pure liquids as well as those of binary mixtures are reported. The observed data have been utilized to calculate various parameters such as the molar polarization (P12), loss tangent (tan), activation energy (Ea). The excess Square of refractive index (nD2), viscosity (ƞ), and activation energy (Ea) of the viscous flow have been estimated.These parameters have been used to explain the formation of complexes in the system. The results were discussed in terms of the existence of intermolecular interactions between the components in the liquid mixtures.

Fine powders of Y3+ doped Mg1-X Cdx Yy Fe2-YO4 (where x = 0.2, 0.4, 0.6 and y = 0, 0.075) spinel nanoferrite were prepared using a sol-gel autocombustion techniques and sintered at 400 oC for duration of 2 hrs. The analysis of XRD patterns revealed the formation of single phase cubic spinel structure. The lattice parameter and crystallite size decreases with increase in Y3+ concentration and average grain size was found to be between 17.79 to 24.2 nm. The dielectric properties have been studied as a function of frequency (100 Hz to 5 MHz) at room temperature using LCR meter and shown the normal dielectric behaviour. The value of ac conductivity increases with increase in frequency for all the compositions. TG-DTA analysis of the auto combusted ferrites was carried out with a heating rate of 10 /min in air. These results may be applicable for promising area such as high frequency electrical devices.

Composite materials were prepared by ceramic method. Initially Ferrite and ferroelectric phases were prepared separately by solid state reaction. By thoroughly mixing required mole percent of sintered phases composites were prepared. Composites were pressed into pellets. The XRD patterns of all the samples were taken by using CuKœ radiation (λ=1.5418 A0) on Philips PW 1710 diffractometer. XRD patterns shows well defined peaks. The occurrence of the peaks with specific indices characteristic of spinel and perovskite structure confirms the formation of cubic spinel structure in ferrite and tetragonal perovskite structure in ferroelectrics. The well defined XRD peaks show crystalline nature of the samples.

The Ultrasonic velocity (U), density (ρ) and viscosity (η) of binary liquid mixtures of Dimethylsulphoxide and ethanol have been measured using Ultrasonic Interferometer at frequency 2MHz and at constant temperature 303K for entire composition. From the measured data of ultrasonic velocity, density and viscosity, acoustical parameters such as adiabatic compressibility (β), intermolecular free length (Lf), free volume (Vf), acoustic impedance (Z), internal pressure (πi), Gibb’s free energy (ΔG) and Rao’s constant (R) have been calculated using standard relations. The variation of adiabatic compressibility (β), intermolecular free length (Lf), free volume (Vf), acoustic impedance (Z), internal pressure (πi), Gibb’s free energy (ΔG), Rao’s constant with mole fraction at constant temperature have been studied. Acoustic parameters provide valuable information in understanding the molecular interaction in binary liquid mixtures.

Biosynthesis of silver nanoparticles using Agaricus bisporus was carried out. The large-scale application of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) in areas such as chemical sensing, nanomedicine, and electronics has led to their increased demand. The Silver nanoparticles were characterized with the help of X-Ray Diffraction and FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy). The XRD confirms the formation of nanoparticles and size of nanoparticles was found to be 27.33 nm. The FTIR gives the prominent bands of absorbance at 1627 cm-1, 2923.45 cm-1 , 3442.44 cm-1 .The observed peak 3442.44cm-1 denote the occurrence of O-H stretching bond of alcohol functional groups. These groups may responsible for efficient capping and stabilization of silver nanoparticles.

The experimental results on the optimization of reaction parameters such as bath temperature, deposition time and pH dependence of structural, optical and morphological properties CdSe nanocrystals in the electro-deposited films. The depositions were carried out on two different substrates viz. stainless steel strips and fluorine doped tin oxide (F.T.O.). The growth process and characterization of CdSe crystals are determined by UV–Vis spectroscopy, X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Also, the influence of reaction conditions on the photoelectrochemical (PEC) of CdSe nanocrystals photoanodes in combination with graphite as a counter electrode and polysulphide as a redox couple was studied systematically. This demonstrates that low reaction temperature and acidic bath are favourable for the formation of high quality CdSe films to explore them in PEC cells.

The use of conventional energy sources for the dehydration of vegetables is not feasible now days since there is scarcity of conventional energy sources. Therefore suitable technology should be adapted for the drying of vegetables. In present research, a cabinet solar dryer has been fabricated. The comparative study of solar dryer and open sun was studied for the drying of fenugreek leaves. The sample of 1kg fenugreek leaves was dried in cabinet solar dryer and open sun. After complete drying, powdered samples were prepared and vitamin A and vitamin C content was determined. The result obtained revealed that, the vitamin A was increased 134 % in cabinet solar dried sample compared to open sun dried sample where as vitamin C shows 12.67 % reduction in cabinet solar dried sample in comparison with open sun.

Nanotechnology deals with the various structures of matter having dimensions of the order of a billionth of a meter. In the present work, we have prepared copper nanoparticles by using electro-deposition method. The structural, optical and morphological properties of the prepared Cu nanoparticles were characterized by using XRD, UV-Visible Spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy, respectively. The XRD spectra reveal that the prepared Cu particle shows crystalline and cubic structure. In present investigation, we also studied the effect of the different parameters such as temperature, applied potential, time, stirring rate on properties of the Cu nanoparticles. Here it was observed that the freshness of an electrolyte also matters which is simply prepared from the ethanol, anhydrous CuSO4 and HCl having specific quantity. The present work also investigated the effect of Cu nanoparticles on electrical conductivity of base fluid (DDW). The electrical properties of the base fluid get altered on the dispersion of nanoparticles. The effect of illumination under different source on electrical conductivity of the Cu nanoparticle with base fluid was also discussed.

In present paper, the effect of the deposition temperature on structural, Optical and Electrical properties of pure TiO2 thin films was investigated. The pure TiO2 thin films were successfully deposited by spraying 0.1M titanium trichloride solution onto the glass substrate. The X ray diffractometric studies revealed that the deposited TiO2 thin films have polycrystalline anatase phase with dominant (101) plane. The crystallite size was found to increase with increased substrate deposition temperature. The micro-strain and dislocation density in the film was observed to decrease as the crystallite size increased. The band gap energy of TiO2 films with different deposition temperatures was measured using absorption spectra of UV-Vis spectrophotometer. The optical band gap of the TiO2 films decreased from 3.30 eV to 3.54 eV as the substrate temperature was varied from 3500C to 5000C. The electrical resistances, temperature coefficient of resistance and activation energy of the films were calculated by measuring DC sheet resistance of the films at different temperatures.

In the areas where the people have to encounter ionizing radiation daily, it is necessary to provide shielding materials for radiation safety. Present study is intended to investigate the attenuation coefficient for the various materials of different thickness as absorbers for radioactive source and establish the relations among linear attenuation coefficient, mass attenuation coefficient and density of materials. Radioactive sources Co60 was used as sources of the gamma rays. Geiger Muller counter is used as detector. Lead, aluminum, iron, stainless steel, glass, plastic and wood materials are used as absorber. It had been observed that attenuation can be achieved using a wide range of materials. Once basic principles involved in gamma ray interaction with matter is understood, it will be easier to select shielding material for given application. Though lead had found to have a higher attenuation coefficient and have a better radiation shielding rather than others but it is not environment free. Linear attenuation coefficient, mass attenuation coefficients, half value layer HVL(X1/2) of absorber materials is calculated and study will be useful in selecting shielding material.

Cox Pb1-x Fe2O4 (where x=0.2, 0.4, 0.6) Nano ferrite powders were synthesized by sol-gel method at cost effective low temperatures. The synthesized powders were sintered at7400C.The prepared samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction and VSM. From XRD characterization the structure of the material is found to be spinel ferrite. The lattice constants and average particle size were studied by X-ray diffraction. The substitution of Co in Pb Ferrite shows the remarkable changes in particle size and magnetic property. The average particle size is in range of 17 to 30 nm. The magnetic properties were studied by VSM.

CdSe thin films have been deposited by spray pyrolysis technique. The glass substrate temperature was varied from 250ºC to 340ºC. Uniform growth of the thin film is observed at 300ºC. Laser tissue interactions can be understood by using different spectroscopic techniques and Scanning electron microscope. In the present work blood samples were collected from diabetic human subjects under standard laboratory conditions. Diabetic blood samples were irradiated by HeNe (Helium-Neon) laser (wavelength λ=700 nm, Power =5 mW). The FTIR spectra of nonradiated diabetic blood samples are compared with the FTIR spectra of radiated diabetic blood samples. The significant changes are observed between the O-H(Free group),P-H( Phosphine) and C=O (amide group) due to laser radiation on diabetic blood samples for time 10 to 40 min. respectively. The decrease in percentage of transmittance for C=O (amide group) for 30 and 40 min. for diabetic blood samples shows the denaturation of proteins.

Nanostructures of metal oxide have attracted a lot of attention because of their superior properties over their bulk counter parts. Tin oxide (SnO2) in nanometric form is one of the most important semiconductor oxides because of its properties and potential applications. This is widely used for solar cells, gas sensors, and transparent electrodes. However, it should be noted that the size and morphology of the materials greatly affect their properties as well their further applications. Recently, solvothermal routes have been developed to fabricate SnO2 nanostructures. The hydrothermal method is one of the most promising routes due to its low cost, environment friendly, mild conditions, and potential advantage for large scale production. Besides, hydrothermal treatments present a positive effect in enhancing thermal stability and gas response. Zinc oxide doped Tin oxide (Zn-doped SnO2) microsheet and Tin oxide (SnO2) microflex like two-dimensional crystalline structures have been synthesized via a simple solvothermal method. The microstructures showed orientation growth behavior and sheet & flex like morphology highly useful for gas sensing application.

We report the synthesis, antibacterial and antioxidant studies of hexagonal shaped lanthanum fluoride nanoparticles doped with Praseodymium (Pr3+) and Holmium(Ho3+) ions prepared with co-precipitation method using deionised water as solvent. The X-ray diffraction, SEM, TEM and selected area electron diffraction SAED pattern have been used for identification of crystal structure. Cell parameters are a = b = 7.0800AU and c = 7.2380AU and confirms with the JCPDS standard card (32-0483) of pure LaF3 crystals. Antibacterial activity was assessed for both gram positive and gram negative bacterial strains. At 500µg/disc and 1mg/disc concentration the test substance showed very good activity against Pseudomonas aeroginosa and Salmonella typhi. Antioxidant activity was measured by DPPH free radical scavenging method. Synthesised nanoparticles showed very less antioxidant activity as compared to standard Ascorbic acid.

Iron oxide exhibits different phases such as hematite (αFe2O3), maghemite (γ-Fe2O3) and magnetite (Fe3O4). Of these, hematite is the most stable phase. Nanoparticles of hematite have versatile applications and are used as pigments, adsorbents, photo-catalysts, solar energy conversion, lithium- ion batteries and sensors. Hematite nanoparticles were synthesized by Sol- Gel method using ferric nitrate and oxalic acid as precursors. The asprepared samples were subjected to calcination at different temperatures from 400 C to 800 C. These samples were characterized by X-ray Diffraction (XRD) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). The size of the particles was calculated from the XRD spectra with the help of Scherrer formula. It was found to increase from 52 nm at 400 C to 67 nm at 800 C. The phase of the synthesized nanoparticles was found to be α-Fe2O3 (hematite) with hexagonal rhomb-centered structure. SEM results show hexagonal morphology of the particles and confirm the increase in size with temperature. The local lattice distortion (strain) of these nanoparticles was calculated using Williamson-Hall plot and was found to be about 0.06%. These results are discussed in this paper.

An attempt is made to synthesisze the cotton fibers embedded with enriched zinc chloride nanoparticles. The Zinc chloride solution was treated with green reducing agent d-glucose in autoclave. Autoclave treatment time was optimized based on single type of particle presence which is followed by microwave radiation cycles for selected time intervals. Synthesized nanoparticles were analysed using UV spectroscopy, IR spectroscopy and Scanning electron microscopy SEM. Purified particles were analyzed for presence of antibacterial and antifungal activity. Cotton fibers were treated in presence of obtained nanoparticles and starch as capping agent. Treated fibers also retained antibacterial activity.

Synthesis of CdS was monitored by scanning the spectrum of material from 200 to 800nm by using glass as blank. The fundamental properties of CdS thin film, prepared using CBD method were investigated. UVVisible spectroscopy analysis was performed at room temperature with last cuvette of 1 cm path length as a sample holder. The maximum absorbance was observed at 620nm which indicated the synthesis of CdS. The band gap energy is calculated and it is found to be 2.39eV. Which is in good agreement with theoretical band gap values of CdS is 2.4eV. XRD pattern clearly illustrated that, the CdS synthesized by the present method were slightly crystalline in nature. The crystalline size is found to be approximately 30nm. The morphology and the size of the synthesized CdS were determined by SEM image. The smaller grains are distributed all over the structure in uniform size distribution. The properties studied include thickness, bandgap, crystal structure and morphology energy of CdS thin film were determined.

Conventional heat exchangers are large in size and heat transfer rate is also less. In conventional heat exchanger dead zone is produce which reduces the heat transfer rate. To create turbulence in conventional heat exchanger some external means is required. The fluid in conventional heat exchanger is not in continuous motion with each other. Tube in tube helical coil heat exchanger provides a compact shape with its geometry offering more fluid contact and eliminating the dead zone, increasing the turbulence and hence the heat transfer rate. An experimental setup is fabricated for the estimation of the heat transfer characteristics. A wire is wounded in the core to increase the turbulence in turn increases the heat transfer rate. The paper deals with the pitch variation of the internal wounded wire and its result on the heat transfer rate. The Reynolds number and Dean Number in the annulus compared to the numerical data. The experimental result compared with the analytical result which confirmed the validation. This heat exchanger finds its application mostly in food industries and waste heat recovery.

Lead doped (Pb2+) – cobalt (Co) nanoferrite as Co1xPbxFe2O4 (were x = 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, 0.5) were synthesized by a simple cost effective method involving sol-gel auto combustion method. Synthesized samples were sintered at 600 0C temperature. The Magnetic properties are studied using hysteresis loop terser field of 10 kOe. The magnetization of the prepared nanoparticles was investigated, and the saturation magnetization (Ms), remanence (Mr), and coercivity (Hc) were derived from the hysteresis loops. The results revealed that as the (Pb2+) Lead substitution in (Co) cobalt nano ferrite increases the magnetic properties remanence (Mr), and coercivity (Hc) goes on decreasing, the saturation magnetization (Ms), first it is increases upto x = 0.3 and then decreases for higher Pb2+ substitution such changes in magnetic properties may be due to the exchange interaction between the tetrahedral and the octahedral sites. From the magnetic properties it is clear that the synthesized materials shifted from hard to soft ferrit.

In the current investigation the pure and L-Cysteine (LC) doped Zinc Thiourea Sulphate (ZTS), an optically transparent single crystal has been grown by slow evaporation technique. The encouraging third-order nonlinear response of grown crystals has been investigated at 632.8 nm using Z-scan technique, and vital third-order non-linear optical (NLO) constants like third order nonlinear refraction (η2), nonlinear susceptibility (χ3), nonlinear absorption (β) and FOM of grown crystal has been evaluated to explore the various optical applications. The χ3 of magnitude 1.43x10-3esu confirms the strong polarizing nature of doped ZTS crystal. In Kurtz–Perry powder test, the second harmonic generation (SHG) efficiency of doped ZTS crystal is found to be 1.16 times that of ZTS material.

Single crystals of p-Toluidine p-Toluenesulfonate (PTPT), an organic nonlinear optical (NLO) material, have been grown by slow evaporation method at room temperature using ethanol as solvent. The crystal system was confirmed from the single crystal XRD analysis. UV-VisNIR spectrum showed that the UV cut-off wavelength of PTPT occurs at 200-400 nm and it has insignificant absorption in the wavelength region of 550–750 nm. The SHG efficiency of PTPT was measured.
